Great place for Happy Hour! We visited before attending a show at the Little Rockport Theater. Perfect spot at a high top bar seating area. Diverse menu, with oysters on the half shell too! I ordered a Pear Martini (lightly sweetened) and it was very refreshing & delicious. My stablemate had a 10 ounce pour of the Clean Slate Riesling, surprisingly good. We ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms, bread & butter, and the Shrimp Rolls. Perfect combination and plenty to share. We had a great dinner from beginning to end. The food was phenomenal and our servicer Jessica, was so kind and gracious. We started off with cocktails; a margarita and I had the strawberry basil cocktail, but substituted the tequila with vodka. For an appetizer we started off with the lump crab, then had the corn chowder and tomato bisque soup. The butter that came with the bread was sooooo yummy. Their secret garlic butter with spices......Oh sooooooo yummy. Then we ordered the specials. My spouse had the fish, crab and shrimp in sambuca and I had the red fish in a lemon and caper sauce. We topped it off with crème brûlée and a key lime tart. So delicious. The kiddos had chicken fingers and fries. We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at Latitudes! From the parking lot it looked more like a high end shopping center. once inside the walls are filled with beautiful artwork that you can purchase. We dined in the bar area and were seated at a bar height table. (we did make reservations and this was the only space available for 6 on a Friday night. It was comfortable and we had plenty of room. I started with an appetizer of shrimp rolls that were absolutely amazing. The shrimp rolls (4) were very light, long, and wrapped in rice paper served with a delicious orange dipping sauce. It was a perfect appetizer for two. I enjoyed two cocktails during the evening, the Evilina. The drink was a thick puréed strawberry margarita with a slight kick of jalapeno at the end. For dinner, I ordered one of the specials of the night. (Valentines weekend). My entrée consisted of beef tenderloin topped with crab meat two deep fried asparagus, mashed potatoes and squash. The steak was cooked perfectly and was extremely tender and it melted in my mouth. Everything tasted absolutely perfect. Next time. I'm in Rockport. Disappointed at Latitude 28 and 02 We came in on a Saturday evening and started strong--the appetizers were excellent. The crab cakes were meaty with little filler, and the shrimp rolls were decent. At $20 for two small (about 2 oz) crab cakes, they were pricey but easily the best thing we ate all night. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was downhill. I ordered the catch of the day--blackened drum with crawfish sauce, fresh vegetables, and a house salad. The zucchini and squash were fresh, but the green beans and other vegetables tasted like they came from a can. My wife ordered the stuffed shrimp with crab, and as Maryland natives used to flavorful seafood, we were shocked at the lack of seasoning. Butter and paprika were the only flavors--no salt, no depth. It was bland from start to finish. The orzo rice was mushy, slimy, and unappealing, and squeezing lemon over it didn't help. My daughter's chicken Florentine suffered the same fate--coated in paprika, bland inside, and beyond saving even with added salt. My son's chicken linguine was just noodles and chicken with no seasoning at all. The bill came to $217. Our waitress was fantastic--attentive, polite, and made great recommendations--but great service can't save bad food. Maybe the local style here is light on seasoning, but when the only option for "flavor" is blackening, it's limiting. Ambiance? Nice--4 out of 5. Food? One of the most disappointing meals I've had for the price. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you're just going for appetizers, in which case the crab cakes are worth a try. Overall: $200+ for a meal where only the starter impressed. Everything else was bland, poorly seasoned, and forgettable. read more

Latitude is a cute restaurant and the servers are nice but unfortunately my food wasn't the best. We started off with bread, crab cakes and oysters - everyone enjoyed. For main dish most of my table ordered the drum (catch of the day) or snapper and loved it but my pasta had no flavor whatsoever. It was almost as if they just boiled noodles and put them in a bowl. I had to add a side of the lemon butter caper sauce that came with the fish for more flavor. The drinks are good and the bar is fast but next time I'd get something else. read more

My Chicken Florentine was so bland it could put salt to sleep. The spinach was mushy like baby food, "seasoned" with nothing but paprika -- not a grain of salt in sight. The orzo rice? Slimy, sour lemon goo, like they used citrus to distract from the fact it has no taste at all. The shrimp linguine pasta was just as bad -- like eating plain noodles in hot water. - The ONLY thing worth eating were the appetizers -- the shrimp rolls and crabcakes were amazing. Honestly, I should've just ordered ten plates of those and skipped the entrées entirely. - When your entrée makes you wish you had just stuck to appetizers, that's a problem. Excellent Monday evening lite menu. Our family was in Rockport for the week and discovered many of the restaurants are closed Mondays or Monday / Tuesdays. Latitude was open and offered a "lite bites" menu on Mondays- which sounded great! We ordered the calamari and spinach dip for the table, which we all enjoyed. I definitely recommend this restaurant. We went to dinner on a Wednesday night. My wife ordered the blue crab with toast points appetizer and absolutely loved it. I'm not a seafood person, so I couldn't quite appreciate that dish like she could. We both had the tomato basil soup and it was delish. I ordered a tenderloin and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My wife ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and, again, enjoyed it. I had the nonalcoholic margarita mojito and it was delish. We enjoyed our visit here! Jeff was our waiter and was extremely nice and he had great customer service. We're a family of four and decided to have dinner here. We recently dined at Latitude's with our family, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. My daughter, aged 8, and I decided to share the beef tenderloin tips, which were enjoyable. However, my son, aged 6, opted for the kids' chicken strips but ended up preferring my husband's tomato basil soup. Despite living in Rockport for 18 years, I've only been to Latitude twice. Once was years ago for my sister's rehearsal dinner (they have a private room you can rent), and the second time was this weekend during a visit to see my 'rents. The cocktails are SO good. My white sangria was in an adorable glass and was so easy to drink (not too sweet, light and bubbly). I very much enjoyed the Fish Gilroy as well, which was served with black drum. I don't have a picture of it, but the tomato bisque was also a standout. Our server, Mary, was incredibly nice, attentive, and patient too. Overall, I'm so glad we ended up here for dinner because it was a very memorial visit. read more

I called to tell them we were coming & asked if there was a table available. The older lady that answered said we could eat in the bar. I told her I wasn't interested in eating in there. (Every time we go to Rockport friends I bring or my husband & I eat at Latitudes at least once. Most of the time more. My friends & I have eaten in the bar and before & it's loud.) So the lady I was on the phone with said there was a LESS DESIRABLE table available that they gave walk ins. Really? We went but I couldn't really enjoy my meal because the way she spoke to me. There was a table by the window that was never occupied. Our bill was over $150. It usually is when I go. This is an excellent choice for seafood in an area that has no shortage of such restaurants. It is decorated with art that can be purchased, which makes it an interesting venue. Three of us shared the crab cakes for an appetizer and found them to be excellent--close to being the best we have ever had. And since we have eaten crab cakes in at least a dozen restaurants in several states, this is no small compliment. One cake per person would have been perfect, so ask them if they would serve additional ones. The Shrimp Gilroy was a great casserole and the browned crust on top was the frosting on the cake, so to speak. (Gilroy, California is a major garlic growing area.) The Black Drum fish of the day was very good, but not our favorite fish. Salads were very good. Their cocktail of tequila, grapefruit juice, and mashed fresh Jalapeño was worth a try and reasonably priced. In fact their pricing was the main reason I added a fifth star. read more
