I have been using SC-Passport and Visa since I moved to Arlington in the 1990s and they have always been outstanding. That winning streak was seriously broken in the last two months. I took my passport in for renewal in mid-August and said that I needed it by September 11, when I was scheduled to leave the country. I have heard ZERO from SC-Passport and Visa since the time I made my request last month. The departure date for my trip has come and gone. Not only do I not have my passport, but also I have lost the thousands of dollars that I paid for the trip I could not take, thanks to SC-Passport and Visa. Great experience with SC Passport. I was in a panic as I discovered that my passport was expired with less than a week before I was leaving on vacation with my wife out of the country. I looked around at a few other places, and the reviews were not pretty (i.e., once some other places take your money, they don't care if you get your passport in time and blame it on the US passport office, etc). But I called SC Passport and they were very knowledgeable. They could take my passport photos on-site and provided expedited options for how I could get my passport in a hurry. They laid out all the forms required, and articulated the process on exactly how it would work (i.e., they deliver all passport requests first thing the following day at 8AM, they have a certain allocation of high-priority slots in order to accommodate their expedited passports, they monitor the expedited requests very closely to ensure they get through the process, a courier will deliver them between 4:30PM-5:00PM back to their facility for 24 hour requests, etc. Their calmness and confidence in the process made me feel good that I was in capable hands. I took the 24hr expedited option. I walked in on a Thursday, and by Friday @ 5PM I had my new passport in hand, without incident. I paid a premium for this, but SC Passport's expedite premium is as competitive as any of the other agencies out there, and to me SC was worth every penny.
