Been working with Eddie Lopez at Scalp Artist for the past few weeks after having gone through three restoration surgeries (2 FUT/1 FUE). The FUT surgeries damn near ruined my life as the 'minimal' scar was actually very visible. Doctors in this industry perform this mangling, promising you great results and then walk away with no accountability. That is where someone like Eddie steps in to repair the damage. I have also had SMP done from a few of the BIG names (two big companies that originated in the UK) as well as independent practitioners. Never have any of them provided me these type of results. Immediately I was aware of a marked difference in the way that Eddie not only performs his work, but also in how he handles his clientele. Eddie is a real person. He knows the impact of the work he performs. He understands and addresses how a procedure like this can be intimidating. He addresses questions, provides cautions and is realistic with expectations. In all of this, he is also just a nice person. In the past, I have felt like a number. I have felt like these previous practitioners have had little patience for any sense of trepidation regarding a process like this. It has always felt like a money grab to me. I have had the SMP process done to mixed results in the past. Not with Eddie. We discussed realistic expectations. I told him what I hoped to accomplish. Eddie got to work. In addition and much to my relief, he identified where previous practitioners have gone wrong. We worked to repair blotchy and uneven spots. He gave me back a fullness to my scalp and camouflaged my FUT scar better than ANY other business or individual could. I did my research before going to Eddie. I read the reviews. Almost everyone has said very much the same as me. There is one reviewer who has a stark contrast to what everyone else here is saying. I ask that you do your research as well, but I would also like to point out the fallacies in his review. He claims Eddie is nice until he gets your money. Here's the reality. Eddie is nice. You and Eddie discuss the money and agree on a price. I paid Eddie on my first consultation. He has been nice and receptive from that point forward. I have to imagine the type of conduct and energy you bring may have something to do with how you are received, money or no. He mentions everyone else having a positive experience EXCEPT him. Hmmm... The design for your SMP is your own. If you want more symmetry, versus a natural unevenness, that is something you work on with Eddie. He and I discussed my ultimate goals and THAT is what we are working toward. There has been no diversion from what we discussed. Not reading the pre and post care instructions is on you. He provides them with ample time to get your act together. Eddie yelling? Sure. I just don't see this gentle-natured, soft-spoken man suddenly yelling at someone in his office, but go off. Eddie wears a hat. I wear a hat. Sometimes he doesn't wear a hat. Sometimes I don't. People wear hats. There is no correlation here. Overall, it seemed that this individual just didn't know what SMP was fully. It is subtle, not a miracle fix for a full head of hair. You will be rocking a buzzed down look forever, barring hair systems and/or you never had significant thinning to begin with. I buzz down every 5-7 days now. Welcome to hair loss, brother. I was looking for a solution for my receding hairline and thought hey why not smp? Kinda wish I would have trusted my gut and not went here what an expensive mistake this was. Eddie "tries" to come off as a nice guy with your best interest in mind up until he has your money then that feeling is definitely gone. I know all these people's reviews had great experiences with Eddie unfortunately I did not have the same experience. I did see a lot of straight lines on his head manquines in his office which should have been a red flag but it was too late he already had my money. He can be very pushy wanting to book you in as soon as possible even though his pre treatment/post treatment paperwork he gives you says not to use and Rogaine a week before when I told Eddie I wasn't aware about this because I just saw the paper that day of the procedure he said not to worry about it and not to use Rogaine for a month but his paper says not to use it after 2 weeks after the procedure. I've done 4 session with Eddie the last being the worst experience when I was yelled and pointed at when I told him I felt like some of the areas where he did the smp where not dark enough and that it didn't match my natural hair then he told me I was the one seeing things. Things were very uncomfortable after that I just wanted to leave but I had already paid and didn't feel like really chatting it up with our "friend" Eddie. I was hoping to get it fixed but it's still not dark enough. So what should I tell the mirror for what I'm seeing or try to get your eyes? Plus for somebody who brags about how they got their smp 7 years ago they NEVER take off their hat. You would think if you're SMP looks good you would show it off right? That should have been another red flag I unfortunately missed. I have to shave daily which I was never told about I was told every 3 days but my natural hair grows so quick that it doesn't look right. I thought the point of this was to appear like you had some hair if I'm shaving it off every day what's the point? Especially when I was told I could get haircuts and fades. What fade can I get when I have to shave my head? I told Eddie about this that I have to shave my head everyday and he's like yeah that's normal I just wear a hat when I'm lazy. Then what the hell is the point of smp? Wish I would have invested in hats rather than this SMP if I'm just gonna be a hat guy. It just doesn't look right the next day or even at the end of the day since my hair is receding but I'm not completely bald but hey if you are completely bald your results might be better but in my case it just looks wrong and if you have some hair it will most likely look wrong too. But yeah your better off going somewhere else or not doing it at all like I shoulnt have but I'm out $1000 and would hate anyone to spend any of their hard earned money here.
