My husband & I went for a day in monte tremblant scandinave spa. The message room smells not good. The kind of oil they use for body wasn't pleasant. Even she didn't offer any kind of selection ( for relaxation, example rosemary , orange or any other kind of oil ) . didn't enjoy the message because the smells of heated oil made room very unpleasant, I brought to the attention of the staff. The outside thermales were so hot or icy cold. ( nothing in middle to seat in the thermal & enjoy it ) The location was very nice and accessible. The outside was very clean, quiet & the view was great and we enjoyed it. The steam bath & dry sauna was very clean & so relaxing The staff were really friendly with us. During our ski trip, my husband called the spa to book a massage and thermal baths for both of us. The person he spoke to on the phone confirmed that there was availability for both the massage and the thermal baths. However, when we arrived, we were told that the massage had not been booked and that there was no record in the system that such a reservation had ever been made. The only reservation that existed was for the thermal baths. We had specifically requested both the massage and the thermal baths, so we decided not to stay for the thermal baths alone. Complaint Regarding Incorrect Reservation and Unjust Cancellation Fee We would like to thank Ms. Flodie for explaining to us that this situation was my husband's fault because he did not check his email while skiing. According to her, he should have done so, despite being told over the phone that the reservation had been successfully made. As Ms. Flodie informed us, we are apparently responsible for this entire situation and are required to pay a 50% cancellation fee for the thermal baths, which we did not intend to use on their own. Be careful when you are making a reservation over the phone. read more

This spa is located in Canada a few minutes from the Mont Tremblant mountain resort. You need a car or you can Uber It's about $150CD each and worth every penny Hubby and I spent the afternoon here going between hot tubs, sauna, cold baths and napping. It's next to the river. Looks like you can get in (we did not). We walked around outdoors in our robe. There is food available. Water throughout the resort. Staff was very friendly. The spa offers massages. It's open late but we were here on Xmas eve so they closed early. Plenty of free parking. Dont forget your flip flops and a change of clothes. If I am in the area again I will be back. It's a well-maintained spa that provides a relaxing ambiance. There are outdoor pools at different temperatures, hydration stations with warm tea and ice water, dry and wet sauna, cedar wood steam rooms, waterfalls strong enough for back and shoulder massage, fire pits, relaxation rooms/ areas, and private massage sessions available at an extra cost. This is my first Scandinave experience and it was everything I hoped it to be. The facilities were nicely maintained, the staff were welcoming, and they've curated a very zen ambiance. The hot/cold cycle was very fun and does wonders on relaxing your muscles. All the pools and steam rooms were different from each other so you can easily spend hours there going in and out of different areas. My favourite might be the Eucalyptus steam room. When you get tired, there are countless sitting areas, indoor and outdoor. I particularly loved the lounge chairs facing the river and the hammocks in the forest. You know what's crazy to me? This spa was mostly outdoors and I was barely bothered by any bugs. Even when I was chilling on a hammock in the woods by a running river (beautiful btw). Maybe it's the lovely cedar smoke they have coming from their outdoor fireplaces, or some other natural bug repellant. Clearly something was working. Even though you were in nature, you were never bothered by nature. Of course, an experience can be ruined by the very people that visit it, but that wasn't the case at all here. Scandinave Spa has an entry limit to keep things from being crowded, signs everywhere asking for people to remain quiet, and a no phone policy. Everyone was respectful, pools were never overflowing with people or inaccessible because of crowds. And this was a Saturday afternoon during the August long weekend! I also booked a massage, which was wonderful. So relaxing and professional. Make sure you book your entry to the spa and any additional services ahead of time. This place can definitely get busy. WOW. Just WOW. Words cannot express to YOU, how much you need to come here and experience this wonderful spa. Hubby booked an all day spa day for us and I am so appreciative of this because it was glorious. First thing, bring ladies, bring a 1 pc bathing suit, its more comfy then a 2pc. Bring slides or flip flops, I chose barefoot even in the snow, because.. well because I am balance compromised, I lose it often and therefore I have better grippage if I am barefoot. They also sell suits, slipper and robes. Anyway, parked, checked in, got the most wonderful robe and two of the fluffiest towels ever!!! men and women have separate locker rooms but you all meet at the same location outside. Shower before you do anything outside, as far as water or spa, but we had booked separate massages and it was so relaxing, I could have just had the massage and been satisfied. We did the hot dry sauna and then the cold 56* degree water plunge ( yes you catch your breath) but it exhilarating- there is a map to help you on your path and fire pits to sit around and relax. So you go from hot and cold water spa, to napping, then sauna..... I have to say it is fantastic- plus- no phones, no photos, not talking- that's right, it is a silent, quiet spa retreat, and people here, respect this rule. We did see a couple of ladies not following the rule and a staff member just did the "shh" motion and they did, it's exciting and fun, so somethines the joy of it all gets the better of you. We did decide to have lunch but got all turned around, and a staff member showed us that the locker rooms/bathroom up the stairs from the cold spa, has a door that leads through the locker room to the main lobby. So that is good to know. We did have lunch this is a separate cost, and I chose the bri & ham sandwich with salad, the salad was orzo, chopped veg in a lovely light dressing and coffee, hubby had the soup and sandwich and coffee and it was filling and warm, perfect for a cold day. We left a few hours later, with a fresh apple, and so relaxed we didn't want to go out again, so we cancelled dinner plans at chilled out at the condo. Not as great as I had hoped for. A few things: 1. I was super surprised they did not have complimentary sandals. I dnow see it mentioned on their website but you have to hunt for it. At check in I asked for a pair and was told it is a bring your own place. I asked if the pavements outside are heated. Was told yes but your feet freeze without sandals. Was later told they SELL them but we were mostly done with our day at that time. 2. I know the setting is supposed to be to be quiet. I did not realize they enforce absolute silence. Seemed zombie like there with everyone staring at each other. They even have silence police there that if they catch you whispering something to you spouse they come after you and Shushhh you! 3. It costs a good chunk of change to go there but for the price I was surprised how Spartan it was. For example most resort spas have toiletries in the locker rooms. Like combs, mouthwash, etc. in the men's locker room. They had two glass fishbowl size containers. One with make-up removal pads. The other had a million Q-tips in it. Maybe spa goers in Canada have a lot of earwax? 4. The massage was great. But you can get great massages in a lot of places. 5. After the massage I was told to stay hydrated. The water stations had cups that held less than two ounces. I ended up walking out to the parking lot in the snow in my bathrobe after my massage to get a cup out of my car. I guess you can BUY a water container cup if you want to but you can not get a larger cup. Seems really cheap to me. 6. Staff were not particularly;army friendly or helpful. It was a this is the way we are attitude and not one of how can we make your experience a great one. So hey if you have nothing else to do, you like living like a Spartan at high resort prices, and don't like to smile and whisper hello to anyone this would be your place. read more

Wowowowow! What a beautiful, relaxing place! The girlfriend and I went here for a couples massage then time in the spas. We made a HUGE mistake... we booked for 10 AM and had a ski instruction reservation for 1. Spa Scandinave is actually a full EXPERIENCE that needs a minimum of 2 hours without a massage to really enjoy and appreciate. I would recommend getting here first thing in the morning and planning on 3-4 hours and eating on site. The massage was fantastic, and hot springs were beautiful. I wish I had the time to just sit outside in the cold with a cozy robe on and watch nature free of all stress and problems. we were so excited to come for a small vacation and visit your spa for my daughters birthday. upon arriving guest services staff were so kind and we were excited for our spa day. However once in the hot tubs even though we were being quiet, had a staff member come up to us and tell us there is no talking. okay, she was doing her job. through out the day we noticed this staff member always by us, so we started paying attention and she was following us around. followed us to the washrooms and all. I emailed the supervisor upon returning home to Ottawa only to be completely gaslighted by her, turning the email on us with no understanding that this may have happened. in fast her words were "I can assure you that this did not happen" Super unprofessional way of dealing with a manner like this. I booked massages for myself, my husband, and my family during our stay in Mont Tremblant. They have an early bird special for 20% off if you book a 9am massage time. The advantage of doing this is that the baths open to the public at 10am, which generally means that it is less busy when you are done with your treatment and ready to enjoy the rest of the spa facilities. I say generally because there were only about 10-12 people around the pools area at the time of my husband's and my visit on a Thursday morning, which allowed us to enjoy the saunas and whole plunge pools to ourselves. My family found Friday morning was much much busier and reported it was so busy that the lineup to provide a tip by credit card took 30 minutes! I enjoyed a lovely massage with RMT Diane who was friendly and provided a RMT receipt for my health insurance purposes. Unfortunately we arrived a little late and thus only had 45 minutes of actual massage time. They require patrons to shower before and after massage treatments and before entering the spa baths area. They provide masks, two towels, and an oversized robe with a hood for use at the Spa. Lockers with keys are provided where you can keep your belongings. There are several hot and cold pools available, as well as access to the lake if you so desire. There are also several areas for relaxing in lounging chairs, hammocks, and in front of a fireplace. We also enjoyed the complimentary hot cinnamon spiced herbal tea, chlorophyll drink, and cold water available. Staff were very helpful. They contacted me the day before my visit to notify me that due to a mechanical failure, one of the largest pool areas would be closed. This was also the case during my family's visit the next day. As a result, we were given a 30% discount off our massages. There were still many pool areas to enjoy during our visit. However the larger pool area closure would definitely be more disruptive on a busier day such as a weekend when physical distancing and capacity limits in individual pools would result in lineups. Overall a wonderful and relaxing spa experience that I highly recommend everyone experience at least once. read more

Super relaxing spa! This place beautifully integrates with its surrounding! My boyfriend and I stopped by here during our stay at Mont Tremblant Resort. After our snowboard day, we wanted to take it easy and relax. We made reservations about a week before here and it was pretty easy through the telephone. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and handed a towel before heading to the locker room. You may choose to bring your own bathrobe and flip flops. It was snowy and cold on the day we were here. However, the snow made it a much better experience especially while relaxing in an outdoor hot bath. Precious! Saunas are also very relaxing. The resting areas are nice to chill out and close your eyes for a bit. We also opt in for the Swedish Couple's Massage. It was pretty relaxing and I ended up snoozing in the middle of it! Shower rooms are very well kept with nice smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Totally worth it to spend the day here! read more

Amazing experience We spent an entire afternoon at the spa. So relaxing and calming. Several areas to enjoy. With fire pits and hydration stations along the path. IMPORTANT- take footwear like flip flops or crocs to walk in. The path is heated but without footwear it's a safety hazard in my opinion. They sell slides for $35 if needed. Excellent Spa. We finally decided to do something for ourselves without kids. Date night of sorts. Came to the spa to get some R&R. The spa is nice but was surprised to find out that you need to book a massage in advance but that's OK. I didn't particularly like the scenario that in order to get to a steam room and the sauna you would need to walk outside and while that would be fine when it's I don't know even 0C outside it really doesn't help when it's -30C. Sauna and the Steam room are great as are the hot pool and cold pool but one should be aware that robes and towels go missing and apparently so do flip flops and in order to replace it you would have to go all the way back to the entrance or wait for an employee to bring it to you. On top of this it seems that talking of any kind in any place at the spa is forbidden, while I do get it for the Relaxation rooms, which what they are there for but in the Hot pool where noise level will drown out most any conversation or in the sauna when you want to talk to the person or people that came with you it doesn't make any sense but I guess. Other than these I think it's a great spa and wonderful to visit. read more

Wow! While we were booking our honeymoon my husband and I were looking to come here as one of our activities in Mount Tremblant. This is a spa like no other. It kicks every other spa's butt! We went in and did a couples swedish relaxing massage and it was amazing. I told Isabel that I get really bad migranes and she focused on my neck, head and face! YASSSS, this was the first time anyone has touched my face during a massage! I even told her I don't like my feet being touched because I am super ticklish and she touched them in such a way that I wasn't even laughing! This morning when my husband and I got up we aren't hurting or in pain because of the massage. This is hands down the best place to come to get a massage. Afterwards we explored the bath's! They had cold baths with powerful water falls that made it feel like you were getting another massage. Afterwards we went to the sauna. Fair warning about the sauna, you might have a slight panic attack because the mint and steam is super powerful. But just breathe out your mouth and you will be fine. After the steam room we went to the finnish sauna. It was really hot, well no duh! My husband liked the finnish sauna, but it was too much for me! After the Finnish Sauna we went over to the hot bath, its basically like a giant Jacuzzi pool tub. There are jets all around and you can even swim in it! After that we went swimming in the river, I recommend water shoes because of all the stones! The current wasn't too bad, but I can see how someone could get swept away. After hanging out in the river, we took a little nap in the hammocks. We grabbed a late lunch in their bistro and their food didn't disappoint. I got a veggie wrap with goat cheese (I love me some cheese) and my husband got an asian chicken wrap. The wrap wasn't dry on the inside and the wrap on the outside had just enough crunch to it. Afterwards we had a cappuccino and a fig bar to split and that put the icing on the cake. My husband even said while we were lounging around "Jesus take me now." lolol it was so heavenly and wonderful! I'd make the 6 hour drive up from home to come back again! read more

This place is so well-hidden. I was taken to this place as a surprise during a recent vacation and just loved it! We were scheduled for a Swedish 1-hour massage at 6:30pm, and arrive at 6pm. After receiving instructions on the grounds and locker rooms, we changed, showered, and headed to the massage area. It was completely silent with soothing music. We did a couple's massage. Very professional. My Swedish massage was done by a gentleman in glasses with mid-length hair - forgot his name :-( but it was excellent. He was very good about stretching both ligaments and tendons, which I had not received before from a Swedish massage. I was very impressed. The great thing about this place is that, after the massage, you are free to wander the grounds until closing. The had 2 hot pools, one multi-tiered cold pool, access to the river, a dry sauna, an outdoor seating area with fireplace, steam sauna, and multiple relaxation rooms. They had hot tea, and fruity water available throughout the premises. It was really fun. One of the hot pools had a waterfall that acted like a good shoulder massage. The water was not too hot, so you can actually sit in it and enjoy the water for a while. I loved the river access. You walk down some stairs to the river banks, and just plop yourself in it. When I went, the water was 72 degrees. It was so refreshing, and you can feel the current and see the little fish in the water. Very cool. It's pricy, but you get what you pay for. I had such a lovely and relaxing time at the Scandinave Spa, Mont-Tremblant. I like how it is more exclusive and secluded than other spa places I've been to before. My favourite features were the hot baths and the steam room. Cold bath at the river was a nice nature-y touch - it was freezing! I find it funny how they have a job position called "Silencer" where the person goes around shushing everyone who talks during their bath time. It kept the atmosphere relaxing and quiet. Came here for the baths during March break weekend après-ski at Tremblant (which is 10 minute cab ride from the village as there aren't shuttles available) and was thoroughly relaxed. There were no lineups, it wasn't too busy, and my sore calves from skiing 2 days in a row were long gone. We tried the cold and hot bath combination in -18 weather hence the cold part didn't last more than 5 seconds! The "hot" experiences includes the baths and dry/wet sauna. My favourite was the dry sauna. We went through 4 cycles which took 2-3 hours. Would come here again! read more

I don't have any pictures of this spectacular zen place to share because no photos are allowed!! This totally makes sense because how else are you suppose to escape the never ending list of to-dos and requests if you keep your social network and social media on you at all times. This place was heaven to my senses. I came here with my boyfriend and girlfriend and we booked the 9am massage therapists appointments for Saturday morning. (Money savings tip: you are allowed to use way spa gift certificates here so we were able to save 20% on our treatments by paying with way spa gift certificates.) All massages include the bath entrance as well so we had a 1 hour massage and spent 3 hours in the baths afterwards for $135 plus tip and tax per person. This is by far the best deal I have come across as I normally pay $150 just for the 1 hour massage. Parking area was easy to find and lots of parking (parking tip: in the winter be careful as the parking is on a slope so it may be iced) Upon entry we were greeted with apples, cucumber water and iced tea. The front desk checked us in and gave us our towels and directions to the massage area, which was in a different building. You are not provided with bath robes or water-proof slippers so BRING YOUR OWN if you can (it will save you $). Some of the other Scandinavian spa's I've been to (Montreal and blue mountain) provide this but this location does not. I received a heavenly massage in a couples massage room overlooking the birch trees and boy the view was just magnificent!! The therapists were extremely professional, courteous, and skilled in their techniques. This was one of the best massages I have had in my life. After the massage we proceeded to the bath areas which just opened at 10am. There were a few people wandering around here and there (around 20 people in total) and so we were able to enjoy the hot tub and cold plunge dip for a bit before the place started to pack up. By 10:30am there were around 40 people there and by 11am I noticed that there were 15 people in each of the pools. In total there are 2 hot tubs at different temperatures (20 degrees ish), 2 cold plunges (10 degrees ish), a eucalyptic steam room, sauna and the river plunge. We tried everything, even the cold river plunge which said it was 2 degrees C but I believe it was way colder than that. The river plunge was at the bottom of two long flights of stairs and small platform leading what looks like a frozen river with a small part that was purposely broken into (looks like a big ice fishing hole) for you to dip into. When you plunge in you don't really feel anything because it is so cold! (Caution: be careful when you enter and leave this cold plunge as you are holding the metal bar since your skin may stick to it). There are also a few resting rooms, some of which we didn't get a chance to go to because they were packed. We rested outdoors in front of the fireplace with fuzzy throws wrapped around us which was nice and also there is an area to the far side of the park near the entrance that has many seating areas (go to this one as there is usually less people since not many people know about it). We sipped on hot tea as well which was dispensed outside the doors to the baths areas. As we got ready to leave I noticed that this spa has less accessories in the bathrooms than its sister branches in Montreal and Blue Mountain. I couldn't find where the hair ties were or q tips and hand lotion, which were available at the other Scandanaves. As we were leaving this place they were giving out frozen pineapples which were a sweet ending to our amazing trip to this Spa. We recently decided to go out to this spa as a part of a surprise package my wife had purchased earlier in the year for my birthday. Initially I recoiled at the idea of going deep into Quebec (for reasons I won't get into here). After arrival, we were registered and given our robes and towels without much delay. The place was beautiful in terms of lay out and local scenery. It also helped that it was during the work week and the place was near empty. My wife and I also got massages and had lunch there. The masseuse was a little weak and didn't do much in terms of relaxing me but it was ok I guess, if not for the price. We were however 'ssshhhh-ed' by a dude who had not but 10 minutes prior approached us and initiated conversation while he was loading up the outdoor fireplace! He used his normal voice and didn't think anything of it. When were sitting side-by-side after the cold pool, with no one else in eye sight never mind hearing distance, he shuffles past to tell us to be quiet. Seems like he needed something to do to justify his paycheque I guess. Overall it's not a bad place to visit if your near by, but if you live in Ontario, go to Nordic spa in Gatineau and you'll have a much better experience. And much more savings in your wallet! read more

We booked far in advance a company retreat to come to Tremblant and experience the spa. When we showed up, we queued for over 20 minutes outside, and then we were told that the spa was at capacity and we can't get in. It didn't seem like the guy at the counter even cared, he was not apologetic and it came across as if we were a nuisance. We are still waiting here and it is 2pm... Don't know when we will get in, or why they treat paying customers this way. Now we are just overcrowding the lounge/bisto area as we wait to see if we can enter. Really crushed to book this trip, show up, and not even participate. What a waste of time. Not relaxed at all. read more

I get it's to be peaceful and quiet and appreciate that aspect, however a soft whisper in a hot tub that has a loud waterfall should be completely ok, but it wasn't. Absolute pure magic!! Located about an hour and a half from Montreal, nestled in the woods on the shores of the Diable River in the sweetest little ski town of Mont Tremblant, is my idea of heaven.... Nordic baths, thermal pools, a solarium which is wraps you like a warm blanket, jacuzzi tubs with massaging waterfalls, reading rooms, hammocks swinging in the woods, an outdoor fireplace with Adirondack chairs, vapor steam rooms, lounge chairs by the river, covered cabanas on the higher deck overlooking the river, a mediation room, warm tea, marshmallow roasting, cozy robes and just all around perfection. Sure we've been to many spas before, but never a Nordic spa. This is a complete, overall mind, body, soul experience. It was so amazing!! There's a system to it...hot baths (102/103 degree Fahrenheit) for 10-15 minutes, then cold dip (52 degrees) for 30 seconds, then pure relaxation in one of the rest areas for 15 minutes. You're supposed to repeat this pattern 3-4 times. It was so neat shocking your system like that. There was also a dock that lead to the cold rushing river down below. I dipped my feet in but hubs went full force. Brave! That was chilly! I hear they cut a hole when the river freezes in the winter and people jump in! Nuts! We spent about 4 1/2 hours after our 60 minute massages just relaxing in the most gorgeous setting. Autumn was THE perfect time to go!! The temperature outside was 55 degrees which was actually perfect dressed just in our swimsuits and robes. I hear winter is fairly awesome as well and deer even come up to say hello. We tried every single setting they had. They were all so incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Each served a different purpose. We treated ourselves to couples massages before the baths which were wonderful. The staff was super professional and very kind. They were really great but honestly, the rest of the day was truly, truly incredible! The baths stole the show! This was an experience like no other!! One to definitely, without a doubt to put on your bucket-list! Ahh-mazing!! The massages were comparably priced to what I'm used to paying in the states, in fact a tad cheaper. The baths can strictly be entered for a less expensive price, however you are not guaranteed a spot and they are first come first serve. They only allow a certain of number of people in at a time which was actually really appreciated. If you schedule a massage however, you automatically gain entrance to the baths prior or post your massage, your preference. We chose to enjoy them afterwards and that is definitely the way to go! Not only did we enter them more relaxed but had nothing weighing on our minds such as keeping track of time for an upcoming massage. I highly recommend doing massages first and I also recommend booking them strictly for the access to the baths. There were people waiting to get in all day. They were however enjoying wine, cheese and killer views of the property, but still. Oh, and did I forget to mention this is all done in complete silence?! Say what? You're not even supposed to bring your phone in but I'm the girl who took photos in the Sistine Chapel so there was no stopping me from snapping away. I didn't disturb anyone though. The silence was actually so refreshing and made all the difference. I cannot tell you how much you need a trip here! There is a location IN Montreal but it doesn't look like this beauty. Checking and resort layout was a little confusing. Availability of towels is only at the front reception area meaning you're usually walking around in a cold wet towel wishing you had a dry one but not enough to trudge all the way back to reception. Massage was great. Not enough indoor relaxation areas...many people camped out reading a book or sleeping in the chairs not giving much chance for an open spot. Unbelievable experience for this tired mama! I came in with a back that was killing me. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and so relaxed. Nancy was my masseuse and while her massage was not the best I ever had, it really was relaxing. The hammocks, the red pods and the swinging chairs are so beautiful: some of my favourite ways to relax! The hot and cold baths and saunas complete the experience. Scandinave Spa isn't just the perfect apres-ski activity. It's also one of the best things you can do for yourself when visiting Mont-Tremblant. My boyfriend and I kicked off 2012 right by coming here after a day of snowboarding on Jan. 1. We first came here two years ago and immediately fell in love with it, so we knew we just had to come back. Scandinave offers a eucalyptus steam room, Finnish sauna, various relaxation rooms, outdoor fireplaces, two hot baths, and several cold baths. One of the baths is in the freezing cold river (32 degrees... enter at your own risk!). It won't feel so bad the first few seconds after you dip your feet in, but then be prepared to feel sharp, shooting pains as you run away from the river. I'm too much of a pansy to immerse my body in the cold baths (they're at 55 degrees). But if you do, there are heat lamps and of course, the hot baths, saunas, etc. for you to sprint towards. Be sure not to jump into the pools and then start screaming your head off because it's so cold. The staff here is serious about the silence policy. Employees walk around the different areas, shushing any customers they catch talking. They really want to make sure everyone has the best and most tranquil experience possible. Our favorite room had to be the zero gravity pavilion, where you lean back in these lounge chairs and well, feel like you're floating. We literally passed out for an hour, and it was great. Awesome way to end our day at the spa. The basic bath entrance fee is $48 CAD. if you're coming here after a day on the mountain, be sure to show that day's lift ticket so you can get 10% off. The price also includes a lock, locker, and two towels. A bathrobe costs extra, as do of course any massage services you want. There's also a great deal on the Scandinave site: $89 for a 1-day lift ticket at Tremblant and 1 access to the baths. It's only valid Sunday-Friday, though. You're definitely paying for the ambience here. The backdrop is absolutely gorgeous and the spa couldn't be in a more beautiful and peaceful location. It's just so calming to relax in a 102-degree hot tub while looking up at lit-up, snow-covered trees. For your next trip to Tremblant, don't just pack the snow clothes. Bring a bathing suit and a pair of flip-flops, set aside several hours for Scandinave (they're open until 9 p.m. 365 days a year), and prepare yourself for one of the most relaxing experiences ever. read more

Wow this is the most beautiful spa I could imagine!! Note this is my first spa ever, and yes I was 24 when I visited. I have never been pampered, my mother never took me and I myself couldn't afford it! Hence this spa trip during our ultimate 2-week ski trip. I needed a massage to regain my strength!!! Unfortunately the massage was extremely light -so my muscles were STILL sore the next day. The massage didn't help :( Minus 1 star The rest of the spa is absolutely beautiful. We bought a package that allowed us to access the baths. By baths, they mean WATERS x 8!!!! - 4 hot baths - 4 cold baths Instructions! (can you tell how excited I am??) --- the timing is off, I don't remember exactly how long you're supposed to stay in each: 1) start with a hot/warm bath for 5-10 minutes 2) jump into the cold bath for at least 10 seconds 3) let your body relax in a "relaxation room" (quiet, with soft music. Lets your body dry off) for 5 minutes And you do this 4 times because there are 4 hot, 4 cold, and 4 different relaxation areas!!!!!! First prize goes to one of the cold bath, which is the friggin' RIVER. And we visited here at -10C winter. I chickened out and I didn't get in. But lots of people did! Snow was LAYERED on this river, but there was a hole dug out just for people to jump in!! In second place are the two notable hot baths: - Eucalyptus steam bath: a steam sauna, very big. Very comfortable, and extremely hot!! - Finnish sauna: a dark room, you lie on the benches and rest. Hot stones in the stove. It's so relaxing here. The "relaxation" areas are warm, comfortable rooms that lets you briefly dry off before getting into your next hot/cold bath. It's very calm, that moving a chair will cause a racket. Total for 2 people, massage and bath: $264.91 CAD FAQ: - bath robes? No you don't need them (we didn't bring any) We just used the towels. A bath robe is a luxury though, definitely more comfortable with it! - flip flops needed, lots of slippery floors!! - you can buy the flip flops or bath robe from the spa, but they won't lend you any. We bought our flip flops at Simons before coming here - very comfortable showers, lockers, and bathroom. Clean and spacious! - contacts are not recommended, but I wore mine (soft). Scandinave Spa is absolutely amazing. It is hands-down one of the best experiences I have ever had. We scheduled his and her hot stone massages. They say to show up early to try the baths. The baths are included in the price of massage. I was a little nervous by the idea of going from hot to cold until they told me that you only have to stay in the cold for 10 seconds (honestly, I may not have ever made it more than about 4). But the feeling is unbelievable. Hot tub w/ waterfall (feels like a massage pounding on your skull and shoulders - fantastic) to cold pool (I couldn't make myself go all the way in), to sitting at the outdoor fireplace to the sauna to a cold waterfall (way better than the pool) to sitting on a chair, to the steam room, back in the waterfall, and another relaxation room. Then to the massage, which was absolutely fantastic. I once said that I thought a 90 minute massage could be a little too long - yeah, that was dumb. It's not too long. For 90 blissful minutes, the only thought in my head was "Ahhhhhhhhhhh....." with a couple of "Oh, no! I hope she isn't almost done!"s thrown in. Then, we rinsed in the showers and back to the spas. Hot tub again, cold shower, indoor hammocks, steam room, waterfall, outdoor hammocks... ahhhhhh.... After we went into the 55 degree pool, we saw that the river was supposedly 65 degrees. I dipped my toes in, but it was COLD. I have a lot of respect for people who managed to lower themselves into the river during the winter. I couldn't do it. We were three for 3-4 hours. It was incredibly relaxing and absolutely worth every penny. Bring flip flops if you don't want to buy them. Leave one of your two towels in the lockers for when you're done, and bring a bathrobe if you don't want to rent one. Even in September, we appreciated having them to walk around. P.S. This spa is one of the best and biggest one I've visited here in Quebec so far. The whole place is well-kept and very clean. They provide lemon water and special teas in every corner which was a nice treat. The attendants are roaming around to control the noise and to keep everything tidy and neat. Spent an extremely relaxing morning here with my husband as a part of our babymoon trip. We got there at 10am and wanders the pools and relaxation spots until 11am. I dipped my feet in the pools as the temperatures would have been too drastic for my body (and the baby). At 11am, we enjoyed a couples massage. My husband got a Swedish massage and I got a prenatal massage. We walked out of there feeling so refreshed! The spa was noticeably more busy by noon, mostly populated by couples. Too bad this place is so far from Montreal, or I would be here every weekend! My sister and I went up to Mont Tremblant for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. We couldn't decide between the spa at the Fairmont hotel and the Scandinave, We decided on a full day at Fairmont's spa, which was nice, but nothing special. We had passed the Scandinave spa on the way into Mont Tremblant, and decided that we'd stop in just to check out the prices and services on the way out, for next time. Boy am I glad we did! Our research trip turned into 5 hours of pure relaxation bliss! The Scandinave offers massage, however, the real attraction are the hot and cold baths. The way it works is you go into a hot bath for as long as you want, then take a quick 90 second (if you can last that long) dip into a cold pool, then you lie down and relax for as long as you like. Then you start the whole process again, and repeat up to about 5 times. It's supposed to be really good for your circulatory system. At the fairmont spa I had a massage, facial, mani and pedi... pretty standard spa fair. Well the Scandinave experience blew the Faimont out of the water!! At the Scandinave there are many different choices for each section. For the "hot" part, there's the obvious hot tub, but there's also a steam bath, sauna, and waterfall. For the "cold" part, you can choose from cold baths, showers, or my personal favourite, the river! You have the option to go into the cold river, with the clearest water I have ever seen, surrounded by beautiful trees, It was definitely the highlight for me. For the "relaxation" part, there were so many choices. Muskoka chairs with foot rests are everywhere, there's an outdoor fireplace area, hammocks are spattered around the grounds. There's also an indoor 'zero gravity' chair room, with walls of glass looking out onto the surrounding forest. By 6pm it was time for my sister and I to make the 2 hour drive back to Montreal. I had to literally peeeeel myself out of the zero gravity chair, and force myself back to the real world. It was the most relaxed I think I've ever been. We were a little skeptical of the $50 entry fee for the baths. But we now see that it was worth every penny! If you're interested in trying something new, I would 110% recommend this place. Make sure you dedicate a full day to this experience, and you'll be a convert too. You'll walk around with your feet 2" off the ground for days afterward. read more
