I used to come here all the time when I was younger and it was under different management. I was a little worried about messing with nostalgia l by returning and being disappointed. However, I have to tell you this place is just as good as I remember. I ordered and Italian combo and was blown away. Look at this sandwich! My wife ordered a chicken bbq and cheddar sandwich and she loved it! She's a picky eater so that says a lot. The best part of this place is the service. They still make you feel right at home and they call your name when you are ready to pay. Lastly, one of the owners made an ice coffee by accident. She offered it to us and make it clear that she just didn't want it to go to waste. She even customized it for us! Wow! I mean great service, from great people.

Lunch from Scaperrotta's is always a winner. Chicken cutlets perfectly seasoned and cooked, on a roll with mayo - delish! The turkey sandwich - delicious thin sliced turkey on a fresh roll - how can you go wrong! And the tuna salad, the egg salad - always fresh and flavorful. And they do get a line of customers at lunchtime (obviously the reputation earns followers) and they do manage to move it. An excellent choice!

I just moved to the area, and I really like this place for a morning coffee and bagel joint. It's clean and the staff are quick and to the point. The coffee is really good for a corner deli as well. Looking forward to going back. read more

Hands down the best Chicken Cutlet Sandwiches in New York and I've had plenty in my life time the owner of this spot knows exactly what he's doing Scaperrotta's deli can have seminars all over teaching people a thing or two about chicken cutlet wow these sandwiches are to DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have olive oil stains on my shirt and shorts from not being to concentrate over how good their eggplants and fresh mozzarella sandwich was. From first bite to last, it's a miracle of veg, carb, cheese and tomatoes. Lawd almighty, I remember having some decent sandwiches in my day, but damn, this was the best one yet! Topped with a Rasberry Joes and let me not even start on how good the potato salad was! Highly recommended, I'll use this phrase because there is another one better. read more

Family owned deli with great staff and amazing sandwiches. I LOVE that they have seeded bread and that they don't skimp on the fillings - they're always huge and a wedge (sub) can be enough for two meals. Prices are reasonable. Their chicken cutlet subs are becoming legendary with my co-workers, who also have fallen in love with this place. read more

Arguably one of the best chicken cutlets I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. The way they melt the cheese and warm the hero under the grilled. Don't get me started about Tuesday and Thursday's they serve Mac and cheese with chicken cutlets and bbq sauce...hmmmm getting hungry just thinking about it. This place is INSANE -- in the best of ways. Great, kick-you-in-the-head sandwiches. The pastrami is fantastic. The chicken cutlet even more so. The turkey club (or whatever it is that my wife gets that I eat the other half of) is also great. They've done no wrong and all right. Love this place and even happier it's just down the block from me. Also, I don't know what the other reviewer or two was saying, but the people here have always been insanely friendly. They must have been high or something. I'll keep coming back again and again... until I'm fat and can't. read more

I've been a deli and coffee shop aficionado for many a year. Scaperrotta's is near the top. They UNDERSTAND deli food. It's in the generous preparation of something as simple as a buttered roll (on a fresh, crisp roll, for those who care) or a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich, or about the largest cup of coffee you'll find - 20 oz for the large, if I'm not mistaken. And it's in the quality of the foods -- tell me a place that still makes their own fare daily, by hand: solid white meat tuna with Hellman's; garlic sauteed broccoli rabe; chicken salad; meatballs; potato salad the right way; brownies baked fresh each morning; etc. The selection is not four windows of so-so, commercially sourced fare -- its one window of just enough of what they do really nicely, as you might at home -- call it curated. I've seen cops from the next town over and high-school kids from two towns away in there with their morning or lunchtime orders. A family business worthy of patronage. read more

Everything here is great, including the staff. Chicken cutlets are fantastic, and so are all the other deli sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable. I only wish they were open later, because sometimes I really want a Scaperrotta's sandwich for dinner and miss them! read more

Found this place on Yelp! because lately I've been disappointed in my local Italian restaurants quality of chicken wedges. I tried from Pizza Grill & Slices in Hastings and those weren't good. Gigi's in Yonkers makes good New York pizza, but there was not much chicken on my small wedge. So I saw the great reviews on Yelp! and thought it was worth a shot. Boy was it! I love good reasonably priced food. The chicken was abundant and good quality. The price was better than the others. As a lifelong New Yorker, I can tell you it was the way Italian food should be in New York. My husband got and egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that was also good. Only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I can't comment on their other offerings because we haven't had them yet. I'm so happy I found a quality place nearby. I would've liked a menu, but they were all out. It would also be great if they had more extended hours as they only stay open until about 4pm. I tend to want to get food like this when I don't want to cook at night. Worth it. read more

He and his friend both enjoyed the food (although he made sure to mention that it wasn't nearly as good as Katz's, which I completely agree with). He thought that the restaurant itself was clean and nice enough. But then the fun part happened. He tried to tip 20% on his lunch bill, asking the waiter to round to the total from the $50 check to $60 total The waiter decided that meant adding a $60 TIP to the order and running the credit card at $110 for their lunch. Simple mistake, maybe. We apparently will never know, because Liebman's has never called back after two different attempts to speak with management to rectify the situation. We were told that there was no manager there twice, but assured that we would receive a call back shortly. Nothing, apparently. Is Liebman's an establishment that targets the elderly and figures that they can get away with it because sometimes people don't look at what they're signing. Who knows? Not me, because no-one from Liebman's decided that it was important to return multiple calls to figure that out. So, IF you go to this place, please check your bill and then check it again, because once you leave the restaurant, they seem to have no desire to explain why they charged you a 120% tip (or even attempt to keep you as a customer) Bonus fact: I waited three weeks to post this to give them every chance to do the right thing and have a manager reply.

He stays open much later and opens up early which is violating the shelter in policy but I don't care about that. This is my second visit here. We ordered the same thing my husband got the first time because it…read morewas really good. Under the "specials" area on the menu is the penne vodka. He orders it (it's a healthy portion) with a chicken cutlet on top. Doubleday's home-makes their own breadcrumbs which they use to coat the cutlets before freshly frying them. They come out so juicy, tender, crispy, and fresh tasting from that extra TLC. With your entree you get the choice of a caesar or house salad which is welcomed. The beers on draft are always fresh. Our server by the way, nicest person ever, good sense of humor, made the visit that much more spectacular. It was a pleasure interacting with her during our visit. Hope to see her again. We sat outside in front of the fire and they had outdoor heaters by the bar. I like that it was late October yet they still had an outdoor seating option open for those who wanted it. I am currently in the car on a long trip wishing I had my Doubledays leftovers to eat!!!!! Will return soon with friends.

The Hudson River spy for George Washington aided in crucial revolutionary war efforts. A landmark of a location that in 1880s adopted the name of Dobbs Ferry (predecessor of Greenburgh.) And since then, this town has starved for a Salumeria and Focacceria of the quality of Abbiocco. Upon opening - I knew I'd arrive here within weeks. I'm a stallion, hobbling around on a weak calf. If I stop adventuring they may put me out to pasture. I won't let it happen. The store is sleek. It's modern yet uses old school practices. There's a place across the bridge named Alta Irpinia that struts in similar fashion. Anyways... there's a lot I need to try. The homemade pizzas look like my grandmother popped them straight out her oven. The taralli were terrific - Often I'm not impressed by others rings but these hit the shpottt. The sandwich menu looks class - But the Monte e Mari? C'mon now. How could a romantic like me not get down with that. As unique of a sandwich as it comes. The focaccia is strong, firm, and tasty. Not a bland one, edible on its own. And then add the spread.... Mmmmmmmm. Delightful. And finally that octopus. So much quantity I was suprised they filled it up that much. Happy to take part in history. Dobbs Ferry has beckoned for you. For hundreds of years. Isn't it silly - isn't quite illogical that my time in Westchester has overlapped with the entrance of this local? Life is funny. Vincenzo, the owner, and his wife Edna were incredibly warm and welcoming. The kind of people who make you feel like you're not just a customer, you're a guest. The food was amazing. I had the Inferno sandwich, and it was perfect. Spicy but balanced with just enough sweetness, and an aftertaste that lingered in the best way. One of those sandwiches you're still thinking about later. The coffee was insane too, rich, bold, and clearly made with care. Then came the moment that really sold me. My kids asked for hot chocolate, which wasn't even on the menu. Instead of saying no, Vincenzo just smiled and made it from scratch. And I mean from scratch. The hot chocolate was unreal, deep, rich, like it was made by scraping cocoa beans right there on the spot. My kids were obsessed. This place is about great food, yes, but it's also about heart. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. And if you live nearby, go welcome Abbiocco to the Dobbs Ferry neighborhood and family. We'll definitely be back.
