Chocolate ice-cream for din...this girl gets everything
    Amanda G.

Ooo! When I find a good spot, I get excited! While I was sunbathing and checking out Yelp, The Shop Ardsley came up on my feed. I b'marked it after checking out the reviews and food pics. Fast-forward to yesterday when we stopped by as we were in the area. We arrived by 8P, 30 minutes prior to closing and we were never made to feel as though we were being rushed. We had just come from the pool, looking to get some takeaway dinner. Carolina immediately greeted us upon arrival, gave us some menus and told us to take our time. I noticed that the kid's meals come with an ice-cream and that's what my daughter wanted, so I asked for it while we waited for the food to be prepared. Carolina was nice enough to offer us a table so that we could be more comfortable while we waited and my tot enjoyed her chocolate ice-cream, which tasted yummy. Yes. I had some. My kid offered so don't @ me. The dining room holds a good amount of people but I could definitely see this place filling up. There's an open kitchen area, so you can see the food being prepared. We had a large order and everything arrived well and was still warm when we got home. Grub Rundown: Wings - we got mild and they were very flavorful with a slight kick. They came with a nice housemade ranch dressing. They were mild enough for my tiny tot. Calamari - packed with a really good housemade tartar sauce and some marinara sauce. These tasted good but I'm sure they're even better when dining in. Baked Clams - these were good, topped with a nice herbed panko and served with a white wine butter sauce to drizzle on top. The sauce was packed separately to maintain the integrity of the clams so they did not sog. Tuna Tartare - this was served in the contemporary way, layered with flavourful guac on top and housemade tortilla chips. Very good. Fried Onions - basically frizzled onions. We put them on almost everything, from the burgers and sandwiches to the mash and short ribs. Fries - decent. Nothing spectacular to note but good fries all around. Mac & Cheese - the bake on the mac is great. I needed to add some salt but it was perfect after doing so. Creamed Spinach - I saw this on the menu and just had to try it. It was tasty! It's seasoned very well and super creamy. I'll probably order this every time I visit. Mashed Potatoes - It's really good. Flavorful with a great texture. Very creamy because they're whipped. They nailed the texture and taste. New England Clam Chowder - this soup is creamy, flavourful and chock full of goodness. Be advised that it does contain bacon...totally worth it. Shop Meatballs - these were tasty. My tot ate most of them with her kid's meal. I with they were a little bit bigger but they were great with a lot of sauce. Kid's Meal - we got the butter pasta. It came with choice of fries, broccoli or green beans, so we went with broccoli and asked that they mix it all together. We added the meatball app to it also. They gave us some parmesan so I sprinkled that on top and my kid loved it. As previously mentioned, the kid's meal also comes with choice of fruit or ice-cream and she had the ice-cream in house. Philly Cheesesteak - hubby's choice and this was definitely a grown up cheesesteak. The steak is cut thick and everything in the sando worked together, cheese all melty. My husband loved it. BYOB - my son ordered the BYO burger with short rib, pepper jack, grilled onion, jalapeño, bacon, guac and Chipotle mayo. I got fries on the side for him. This would definitely been better if eaten in house as it got super messy but still a great sandwich. They were VERY considerate by separately packing all the ingredients that would have made it soggy. He assembled it when we brought it home. Braised Short Rib Entrée - I ordered this and the serving size is pretty good. They gave me a huge rib, plenty of whipped mash and roasted carrots that seemed to be glazed. The rib is so tender, I was able to cut it with a spoon. Rotisserie Chicken - I ordered a half bird. You can tell they use very good poultry. They're the size of the chickens I buy when I cook at home so I appreciate not being served a gigantic Frankenbird. It was super tender also. Desserts - we tried the Apple Berry Crisp AND the Marble Cheesecake, both of which were really nice. Definitely have the crisp in house because it's served with vanilla ice-cream. Bagels - despite picking them up at the end of the day, they were still soft. All this does is make me want to go back and get one of their amazing looking brekkie sandos. This was a winner. The staff and the food made this experience a great one. Next time we will have to dine in. The kid's menu options also offer salmon, chicken parm and a few other items. Pro tip: check their hours online because they have a couple of very early days where they close at 230P.

The aftermath of my Chicken PESTO Panini but on a wrap
    Andrew A.

I haven't had too much motivation to post on Yelp (due to just life in general) but I'm back with another review! Lately I've been just craving wraps and more wraps and more wraps... why? Because they're not too heavy on the stomach like a burrito and you can literally customize it however you want it. Now I've been viewing this place on Yelp for many years now and all I've seen is just great food, great atmosphere and just the vibe is perfect based on the photos; but I had to visit myself! At first glance I immediately knew I can come by and just get some work done online since the place did present itself as a cafe-ish vibe but you can tell you don't wanna stay for too long (due to the foot traffic) the aroma was just filled the air with heavy seasoning and a fiery grill. The aesthetics was clean, simple and organized. The staff you can tell are more synchronized than synchronized swimmer. The employees definitely knows how to take care of their establishment and the presentation is superb. I was craving breakfast but I've been more into brunch hence why I ordered a (Custom) Chicken Pesto Panini (but on a wrap) wasn't craving the bread. I changed a few ingredients such as the grilled chicken (changed that to breaded chicken), I added peppers to the sandwich plus added two scrambled eggs. With a side order of waffle fries. I effortlessly changed my ingredients without any issues with a large hazelnut ice coffee. Everything was smooth and filling. Definitely support the locals! I would recommend most definitely coming through!

    French Onion Soup

Came for a sit-down lunch, and discovered we had to order and pay at the cash register. employees were all super nice and helpful. felt like it was family-run. i had the french onion soup and a salad with salmon. both came fresh and with nice portions. neither dish was amazing, but both were solid. if i lived closed, i'm sure i'd stop in all the time. also tried bagels and enjoyed them. only thing i wouldn't reorder is the chicken fingers for my kids - they were a bit bland. fries were really good!

Their salmon and cream cheese bagel was the BOMB!

Love this cute little place near the CVS in Ardsley! Was craving a salmon and cream cheese bagel and boy did it hit the spot! Deffo coming back! In fact I may even cater from here for a home buyer seminar I'm running next week! Yum!

My husband went with the à la carte French toast accompanied with a fresh berry compote and homemade whip cream. The bread was a house-made challah bread . He said it was the best he's French toast he's ever had. Served with real maple syrup, which made it even better. The Bloody Marys were fantastic--perfectly spicy, with a noticeable kick of horseradish. The Bellini was just as delicious, and the coffee was served hot and full of flavor. I opted for the prix fixe menu . It was difficult to choose as there were many options to choose from. I decided on the mushroom risotto as a first course which was outstanding--perfectly creamy risotto topped either mushrooms and a delicate touch of annato oil that brought everything together beautifully. For my main course again, many options that I could've went with, but decided on the eggs Benedict with pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful. The country, potatoes, sautéed with onions and red peppers, were so tasty, and the side salad with dressing was light and refreshing. I also loved that there were several protein options you could've chose from to go on top of the English muffin beneath the poached eggs. We were too full to enjoy dessert there, but we took it home--an apple cheesecake dress with caramel sauce, and that same homemade whipped cream . Since we were taking it home, we forgo'd the vanilla ice cream which also came with this dessert . The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive--water glasses were refilled without asking, and plates were cleared promptly. The space also features a beautiful large bar and an outdoor patio, which I can't wait to come back and enjoy. Lots of parking in the surrounding and immediate areas and free on Sundays.

Sure, ok, it is a nice looking space, but that is where it ends for me. I have been at least 5 times and while none were memorable this last one was really awful. As someone who likes to eat there is nothing worse than ordering something for a special treat that ends up being "not worth it." I ordered the soup and sandwich off the lunch menu - truffle grilled cheese, how could you wrong? What I expected - a decadent, buttery, melty sandwich. What I got- two heels of bread dry as a desert with a thick hunk of cheese that was not even fully melted throughout. The soup was not terrible in comparison but needed salt. Holiday lunches have dragged on and on with slow service. I would never go spend my own money here.

You order at the register and they call out your name when your food is ready. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options, as well as a great breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and dense. The flavors were mild, but the sandwich was the perfect portion size. I also got a side of the vegan bacon. It was rubbery and tough to chew. Would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast burrito. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower pieces were well coated in buffalo sauce and very flavorful. I also got the Don't Kale Me juice. It was tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. The Deep Roots smoothie was also quite tasty. They have free self-serve water and the employees were quick to wipe down tables so they were clean for the next party. Looking forward to coming again!

The menu looked amazing and we're excited but we're worried we weren't dressed appropriately, Caroline insured us we woke fit in just fine. I personally love to dine at the bar when possible especially with a great bartender like Izzy. We were the first ones there by accident which can feel funny but Izzy was so warm and welcoming and very eager to meet us and tell us about the epic menu and the show stopping desserts. We told Izzy our drink preferences and he nailed it each drink. We started with a dozen oysters that were incredible and shocked perfectly. Then followed that with the bone marrow which had a tasteful amount of chimichurri sauce and a side of crunchy salt to use for your liking. It was delicious! We were temped to next get the octopus but needed room for the "bar only specials" which is a brilliant idea very unique. It was a wagu blend cheese burger with arugula and a delicious black garlic spread and perfectly cooked fries. Perfect for sharing! A dinner isn't complete without an espresso martini! I highly recommend this place to any food enthusiast and fan of wine, spirits and excellent desserts. Lastly the decor was also amazing. The chef's not only designs top notch desserts he also did the wood work art along the bar. I also loved the pictures of all the people in the back of the restaurant over the course of there decades of business. Lastly the history is incredible it use to be the village hall and jailhouse! They incorporated the jail into a wine cellar that seats two people for a fun drink before or after dinner. Highly give this place a 10 out of 10 for excellent food, drink, service and vibes!
