November 21, 2023 - I honestly don't know what to say.. today is the finally day. They will change the after market shocks and replace it with brand new Kia shocks..
When I went in at 11:30am John the stapler man and a new guy was at the front desk. I really don't like talking to John, so I only spoke with the new guy. I advised him that before the car goes in for repair that a mechanic has to go for a drive with me. He then advised me that no one was available and that he doesn't know about that. I got so pissed and I raised my tone and advised him that the GM said that they would first go for the drive and then repair the suv. Cliff the service manager who I spoke to the same day I spoke with the GM appeared and just asked me to calm down..... honestly this place gives me anxiety and makes me so uncomfortable and upset.
I apologized to the new guy and then told them that no one is repairing the suv unless someone goes for the drive with me. I then left and went and sat in my suv and waited. Cliff came out and said it'll take a few moments for a mechanic to come. After some time, a mechanic came, I drove around the entire neighborhood.. the mechanic said that the shocks they ordered could make it better. And I also explained to him about the reason I brought my suv in back in September (air not being distributed properly in each tire and the car going to the left) and he then said the repair that happened after shouldn't have happened if that was just the case, he then said he would speak to the mechanic and get back to me. I went I inside to the service area and advised them that he is speaking with the mechanic and then they took my key.
When the suv was finished being "fixed" I was speaking with Cliff.. then the service guys were all confused about who would cover the cost of the new repair. Cliff said the customer has to pay for it, at first, I wasn't thinking they were talking about me because they were talking about different cars and issues in between the time.. But then Cliff gave me a new bill $40+ for the new Kia shocks. Here I'm thinking (wow just for a small fee of $40+ dollars I could have had Kia shocks and not those aftermarket wonderland ride bs I was dealing with for two months..) I paid and signed the bill. As Cliff was talking he explained that sometimes things happen when you repair cars where you fix one part and something else happens. True very true. I told Cliff that for two years I haven't worked full time and I can still afford to pay to fix my suv and for them to understand that I'm pissed and upset because they haven't fixed it but made it worse. I broke down a bit from my frustration , I apologized to Cliff for cursing and then I left.
Honestly some jobs aren't for everyone, if you have to scam people and fix things that shouldn't have to be fixed to make ends meet then that job is not for you. Mechanic gets crappy names because they push to fix things they shouldn't touch in the first place... I'm also at fault here for believing that every bill they show me means that this needs to be fixed. Definitely should've said "let me think about it".. I've never said that to any of them cause I trusted them. Anyways it's sad that my review of this place are just bad ones. But I don't think that even if I left good reviews previously it wouldn't change the fact that the mechanic needed the money more than I do ("fixing" things that don't need to be fixed) I will not be going back there.
My suv now: the new shocks are better than before. I don't feel like I'm on a wonderland ride as much. It's still a bit crappy and still makes noise. The trunk noise still is an issue. Overall it's 1.5/5
When the GM said, bring your vehicle back, trust us will fix everything. It was BS. I don't even think that man talks to his mechanics to reiterate the message he told me.. there definitely is a disconnect between the GM and the employees. They don't know their own heads.
I just decided to take it to a new place and hopefully they can assist me. things that weren't happening for the 6yrs I've had my suv miraculously started happening after one repair. I don't think removing my previous shocks would've caused all the issues that are happening now. It's been quite an interesting two months. read more
