Evens&Oddities made up for this as my full haul from Massachusetts. I was impressed upon walking in. I felt like I'd walked into a wizards shop with so many trinkets and wares to pick from. The atmosphere is perfectly dark and eerie. The selection is so unique, I can't say I've seen very many chameleons and zebra skulls in every shop I've been to. The thing that really stood out to me was the pieces of art. Most oddities shops you walk into will sell individual bits and pieces but Kyle has done a beautiful job of turning the puzzle pieces into art. I felt I was really getting my moneys worth with stuff I can put on my walls and shelves. The shop owner is extremely kind and a joy to talk to!! I had a difficult time finding a taxidermist that would mount a woodcock. Everyone I spoke to that…read morewas somewhat close to my home in North Jersey said that they were too small to deal with. I finally tried Northeast Taxidermy after seeing a beautifully mounted woodcock on their website. They told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it to see if it was feasible. The shop is almost 2 hours away, but not a bad trip at all. Owners Joe and Lowrey, are really great people, they showed me around their really impressive facility, and took the bird in. About 4 months later, I received a call from Lowrey, saying the bird was done. I picked it up today, and I was absolutely blown away by the incredible job. The bird is flying, mounted on a nice piece of driftwood, and has a hook on the back to hang it on the wall. I could not be happier.

The owner Ric has been very ill and unable to finish my husbands buck for well over a year. My…read morehusband is the nicest guy in the world and has allowed this business to string him along month after month while he anxiously anticipates his dear. Any time we have called Ric's son has been EXTREMELY RUDE! The deer as usual was suppose to be finished last week and the week before but IT IS NEVER DONE! My husband calls today and now the business is shut down and no one will be there until Nov. 15th. I call back to say we are coming down tomorrow to pick up the deer finished or not. Ric's son began SCREAMING AT ME...YELLING YOU ARE A STUPID C- YOU- NEXT- TUESDAY! However he used the actual word! Over and kver! I called the police and they explained they are VERY familiar with Ric's son and this is not unusual for him. Now we have to go to the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims court in a last ditch attempt to even get my hubby's deer back. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!

I had just made it to town on a…read moreSunday, and didn't have time to any more antiquing before heading back to the airport the next morning, so was very happy to stop in here, and do a quick lap. I saw so many things I wanted to get! Unfortunately, some of them were way to big to wrangle home, but nonetheless it was fun looking around. The place had a mix of authentic antiques and new made to look old stuff in a few booths. A number of booths featured vintage clothing, and home decor, with the full rainbow of small collectibles and ephemera. Also, as an out-of-towner, the directions took me to the front of the store, with only street parking, but there was a parking lot behind the building, and other fun shops in the building. This was on a lower level. Definitely a spot worth wandering around if you like old things.
