I highly encourage any one interested in having a fun, creative afternoon or evening to give this place a try. You'll be hooked, like I am. I can't wait to go back!

We arrived at 12:50 since our class time was 1 pm. Upon arrival there was nobody at the front desk to check is in, which is fine since there were several young girls setting up tables. However, after 10 minutes someone should of have come over and talked with us. We waited another 10 minutes (after 1 pm), when someone came to us and informed us that they were having trouble printing some of the graphics. We finally set down at a table against the wall that had remnant works on the floor next with exposed nails. Keep in mind we had two kids with us, you'd think the space around your work table should be safe. By this time the other 5 tables had started working on their projects and we were still waiting. It is now 1:25. We felt like people kept looking at us since we were just sitting there. On top of it, we were the only group of color and definitely were feeling like we were being treated differently. I am sure the other tables that day could attest to that. I didn't want to make a scene with the kids in our group so I didn't say anything but upon reflecting I should have. The projects were fine. The kids made a tray and wooden storage box...the kids wood pieces should have been sanded down a little more before they were given to us. It was not possible to sand them down with the tools that were provided. We also were never told about aprons until we asked for them. I made tea towels, utensil box...the cut out for the tea towels was missing letters. My cousin made a doormat and my sister made a pillowcase. I'm just surprised that the cutouts and workshop are not ready prior to the day of the event. We were almost late to a dinner reservation because we got out of AR so late. Looking back, I think a mere apology is not sufficient. So many things were not right....starting over 30 minutes late, unsafe work bench, unsafe wood pieces for kids, cutouts with missing letters, and honestly feeling ignored during most of the workshop. I guess they are not interested in our business and I will happily take it elsewhere.

We looked and looked and could not find it because the place itself does not exist. Granny herself runs this nonprofit as more of an educational giving back kind of initiative. As we were moving piles of mulch to the garden beds we met her in person and wow what a special person! She explained to all of us the history of how she got started and it was basically to teach children early about how to eat healthy and that healthy eating can be fun, and delicious! She also said that each classroom of the school has a plot that they are responsible for growing during the season. The class then harvests the plants and they are used for the school's lunches!!! How cool is that? We had processed patties of who knows what slopped on our trays. She even said that kids will eat raw veggies right out of the garden. And when I say raw, some of the kids just take bites out of tomatoes and eat them whole! What a great cause. I would have never even known about this place, but if you are looking to volunteer or just have fun giving back this is a great great place. There were even some high school kids earning class credit on the day we went.

Jess was my teacher and absolutely amazing. I was trying to keep up almost immediately and humbled. But that told me how great of a workout it was. I was happily sore the next day. The class was fun and so high energy. I felt welcomed immediately too by the staff and other class members. The space is absolutely beautiful. I plan to visit when I am in Cincinnati next. They offer a variety of class types - definitely check out their schedule!

The dance cardio classes are my favorite: imagine dancing during a night out but you happen to get a work out in! They have custom DJ mixes and a fun light show during class. This year, Jess opened her flagship studio in Madisonville, and it is just incredible. You are greeted upon entering by a huge disco ball and the wonderful front desk staff. Then there are 2 studios, the Mainstage, where all the dance cardio and other cardio classes are, and the Backstage, where yoga and barre usually are. There's also a playroom, and child care is offered most mornings. All the instructors are amazing, you can't go wrong with anyone. If you need a place for your kid's birthday party or if you need an event space, they often are renting it out for that as well. I cannot recommend Dance Factory Fitness enough!
