I was 10 mins late to my first appointment and had all my following appointments cancelled after making them 2 weeks ahead of time. I wasn't even told that they would be cancelled. The therapist gets paid regardless of me showing up. She claimed I disrupted her whole schedule but I was never treated that day since I was late, so I don't see how that could've disrupted her schedule. As a postpartum mom I am shocked by the treatment of the staff there they really have no compassion for those in pain. Rachel and Faith at the front desk were both uncompassionate for my pain or condition. We are in the midst of the holiday season so they really screwed me over bc finding someone else is basically impossible. I wouldn't recommend this practice to any new mothers. I was at Sprain Brook Manor for rehab for polyneuropathy and was there for a little over three…read moremonths. I was quite disabled when I arrived and it wasn't until I started to recover, near the end of my stay there, that I wanted to go home. I knew I needed to be there, and the staff members knew I did too. Most were attentive and supportive and any concerns I had (there weren't many) were addressed promptly. The facility is kept very clean, the food was good (they accommodated my special requests) and there are daily activities for the patients to partake in. Staffing however, could be better. Please note that the main reason I chose Sprain Brook Manor was for the physical therapy and it was definitely the right choice. When I arrived there, and I do not exaggerate, I could not sit up, stand up, walk, use the bathroom, write, tie my shoes or pretty much anything else that required the use of my hands, legs and back. Thanks to the amazing efforts of my physical therapist Gilbert and my occupational therapist Rolanda, I improved slowly but surely and, to the surprise of many, I was able to walk out of there and go home! I cannot thank those two enough and will be forever grateful to them for accomplishing the impossible!

I have never seen a facility more filthy. Spilled fluids left to dry on the floors and walls, grime and dirt built up in patient rooms, and dead cockroaches in the bathroom on two separate occasions that remained untouched. I witnessed IV tubing lying on the filthy floor, an obvious infection and safety hazard. The nurses' medication cart was visibly dirty, reflecting the overall neglect of this facility. There were a couple of kind nurses and aides who seemed to do their best under the circumstances, but the issues here are so systemic that their individual efforts hardly makes a difference unfortunately. To be clear, I don't expect a nursing home to resemble a luxury hotel; delays in care, a bad day or being short staffed is one thing, but what I saw here is not just poor care, it is outright neglect. My family member was only here a few days and still acquired a new infection, unsurprising if you've seen the conditions. Patients who cannot advocate for themselves were left in painful positions, never repositioned, and one was deliberately left in wet clothes, with a towel simply placed over them to hide it in front of family. That level of indifference was shocking. Normally, I don't write reviews like this but I wish I had seen more honest and detailed reviews before this facility was trusted with the care of a loved one. The goal is to help others make more informed decisions and to call attention to admins for accountability and vast improvements at the Dumont for current and future patients.

Noel was skilled, emphatic and always followed up even under the weight of attending to many patients when they were short staffed. He even had a sense of humor when under stress! He was diligent in ensuring that the right protocols were followed in caring for my mother when she had infections and was compassionate in his training of other caregivers to do the same. When Noel was on duty, we always felt that my mother was in good hands!

Burke Rehabilitation was chosen, and it was one of the best decisions I could have made by taking the advice of those who cared about me. Burke is an amazing place, with a dedicated and caring staff. I have never been to a facility that was run with such precision. From the doctors, the nurses, the nurses' aides, to the PT and OT professionals, EVERYONE in this facility, had only one thing in mind . . . to assist and rehabilitate those in their charge. I especially want to recognize the nurses' aides who cared so deeply for the people they were helping, who comforted me when I had a difficult day and cheered me up when I was sad. Their "can-do" attitude was some of the best medicine available. I left Burke feeling that I had truly been to a place where commitment and caring was all that mattered. Thank you Burke for making me feel at home, cared for and valued.

Everything was clearly explained and all questions answered. From our first visit, every single staff member, from the front desk to the cleaning staff, was pleasant and helpful and friendly. As a family, we were not looking forward to any rehabilitation living, however, we have already recommended Methodist if it's needed on the future.

The CNA's are wonderful but there is a lack of communication between the nurses and patient. What they say they offer and what you get doesn't match. If you ring the bell they are slow to respond. If you fall out of bed at night you are SOL. The nurse Sheryl said Tylenol was an Nsaid. I questioned Sheryl's competency since she had to use Professor Google to find out Tylenol is an analgesic and not a Nsaid. And they have her giving out medication. The nurse Eric refused to give my sister a cancer patient pain medication. His reason was it wasn't documented that she was given any pain medication. I don't know whose chart he was reading. Nurse practitioner Diya and RN Anna sitting in the same office and will give you different information regarding the same patient. I questioned their lack of urgency when I told them my sister needed to go to ER for a blood transfusion when her hemoglobin was under 7. They want to repeat labs. First time her hemoglobin dropped, the tech from Northwell never showed up to repeat lab. When they finally sent my sister to the ER, her hemoglobin was 5.8. I requested certain blood work to be taken weekly and faxed to the oncologist. That was never done. The food is lacking. They give you a menu and they give you what you did not select. My sister can't eat corn. They gave her corn. She does't eat carrots, they gave her carrots. The dietician said you cant have Raisin Bran because of the Phosphorus and they would give her Raisin Bran Cereal. The dietician said you need protein since you are on dialysis. Her lunch one day was peas, carrots and bread. I had to ask where was the protein. Candace said you have use their medical supplies because they would order it. They sporadically provided supplies. I had to make sure my sister had her own medical supplies. The nurse cut her with scissors while changing her bandage because she wanted to dress the wound her way instead of listening to how we change the dressing. Anna said my sister didnt look like she was pain because she was looking at her phone. When you go for dialysis, you take a notebook with you that the dialysis center onsite is suppose to update. When you return from dialysis you give the notebook to the nurse. NO ONE reads it. Novi and Grace said that Rogisin the dialysis center doesnt update Methodist with the results of any blood work they do. Candace told me the opposite and Rogisin updates the notebook. From what I saw, the nurses don't read it. We finally decided not to send my sister back there after she was hospitalized a 3rd time. Her hemoglobin was 4 when she finally went to the ER because no tech showed up take her blood. We felt that under their care my sister would DECLINE OR DIE. Two weeks after she came home, Rachel from the dialysis center called me to see how she was doing. They didnt know my sister refused to go back there and came home. I found that strange because Miguel and Elizabeth from Methodist knew my sister refused to return. But again, there is a lack of communication amongst them. Yesterday, I received a certified letter from them with a NOTICE OF DISCHARGE/TRANSFER with inaccurate info. It should have said patient no longer felt safe with the lack of care. Since my sister is home and doing outpatient dialysis elsewhere, her numbers are monitored. The new dialysis center communicate with my sister and her doctors. I haven't had any issues with her new treatment plan at the new place.

It makes you wonder why there are always new people working there and it seems like a lot of people leave for whatever reason. The reviewers name is different but the review is identical word for word, this concerns me about the veracity of any of these reviews. I think I'll rely only on friends and family?????
