The attractions and actors at Scary Acres are great. It was my third visit to Scary Acres. My complaint is the unfairness of the Fast Pass line to the regular line. We waited in line for two hours to get into the castle. I finally asked the very unfriendly man managing the regular line how many people get in from the Fast Pass line compared to the regular line and he said, "five groups to one". This must have changed from my two previous visits because I never had to wait that long before, even when the regular line was clear back to the box office. This seems totally unfair to me. Plan on a long wait unless you pay $10 extra for the fast pass. read more

This was my first year going to a real haunted house. Scary acres is definitely a good one for first timers, kids, or those easily spooked! There was a ton of jump scares as well as some chainsaws that made you want to run! We bought the combo pass which was roughly $30/person and got to go to all 3 haunted houses. I had a good time but only because I'm a good time to myself lol! But I hope they up the "scares" and don't rely on the usual costumers and the same ole script. I do NOT recommend this place. The workers were lying to police officers and getting people kicked out, and NOT giving refunds. My kids were kicked out for "stealing" I bet this is because the color of there skin. They did not do anything, they didn't get to visit any houses, and were very disappointed. $240 Wasted, don't waste your money on this trashy attraction. read more

I am not a huge Haunted House person, mostly because of the cost and most are just dumb. My wife, brother-in-law, and I went to Scary Acres this past weekend as my wife REALLY wanted to go. It was super busy. As you were standing in line to purchase the tickets, you could see the MASSIVE line just to go to the first attraction, (there are three total). I saw that you could upgrade your tickets to the 'speed pass' to avoid the lines. For only $10 extra, on top of the $25 combined pass, we decided to give it a try and wow, it was the best purchase I HAVE EVER MADE. We literally got to walk pass the lines and go to the front and literally cut in front of the people in the main line, it was awesome. The speed pass saved us literally hours of waiting in line. We came, saw all three attractions, and left, all in about 45 minutes. The attractions themselves were okay, but my favorite was the Master's Castle. Cool sets and make-up. The haunted woods was kind of a joke, and the house on the hill was just okay. Overall, even though it was a tad pricey, it was fun to go. And the speed pass definitely helped. I would consider going back in a few years, as it'll probably be mostly the same next year. P.S. PURCHASE THE SPEED PASS TO AVOID THE LINES! read more

Just got back from a office trip to scary acres. Group rate was 20 a person for all 3 attractions.. seems a bit high for me but paid anyway. The castle was fun, not really too scary but definitely spooked me a few times. The forest was a bit dull, only 4 guys working it and not really being scary just.. following couple in our group. The house on the hill was probably the worst. Whole sections were empty of actors and nothing inside was really jump-worthy other than the air compressors. All in all, I give it a two, a bit overpriced for only one mildly-startling attraction. Unless they tone things down for the weekdays.. in which case, it's already ruined me for any will to come back on a weekend. read more

Scary Acres is a little disappointing now. There used to be more featured there, 4-5 haunted attractions, but there was only three this time. It's not handicap accessible in any way so my mom wouldn't be able to attend. If she did go, it'd be 28.00 to sit by a bonfire, which is dumb. You can't have purses inside and no one tells you this until you get to the ticket counter after waiting in a potentially long long. It's not on their website. Then the coupon discount or canned food discount they DO advertise on their website was not honored for ticket sales. The haunted houses have spots of complete pitch black, which normally is fine, but then in the dark they have steps or different inclines to walk on. We were hitting our heads on low hanging area where you had to duck as well because of poor lightly. The actors for the most part weren't bad but there was one in the haunted forest with a tuba (?). He was borderline rude as heck with his "monster comments". That guy could use more training. Rude is not scary. I've been to Scary Acres in years past but think this is my last visit. Took my teenage daughter to Scary Acres and we purchased the three attraction combo tickets. Haunted Woods, Masters Castle and House on the Hill. The Haunted Woods is a trail walk with various jump spots where people in bad makeup and torn clothing jump out at you. Obligatory chainsaw guy included. The Master's Castle set was very good, but the "acting" was mostly annoying teenagers who screamed things in your ear. Add trail walk with various jump spots where two or three teenagers act like escaped mental patients. Again, obligatory chainsaw guy. The House on the Hill is another take on the Master's Castle. Dark hallways, screaming teenagers, yet another kitchen scene with a screaming teenager. Outdoor trail with jump spots. Chainsaw guy at the end. Not very "scary". Hard to be when some of the actors are the same age as the kids they're trying to scare. The sets are good, the makeup was not. 46 bucks for two tickets (with coupons) was not worth it. It's too bad. We both like Halloween and were looking forward to the visit. read more

Completely loved this place. Huge bonfires everywhere, three haunted houses, carnival-style food and PEOPLE EVERYWHERE. Decided to buy the speed pass -- for an extra $10 you get to cut to the front of the line. And the lines were HUGE. We would have easily been there 3+ hours if we hadn't bought the speed pass. Instead, we were in and out in 45 mins. All three haunted houses. Sure, a lot of people like hanging out in line with friends and family to make a night of it. We just wanted to get scurrrred and get out. My only complaint was that groups were staggered quite enough to get the actors inside reset for big scares for our group. The group ahead got the big scares and then we'd inevitably run into the actor as he/she was trying to get back to their hiding place. We still got lucky with a few scares elsewhere, but there were definitely some missed opportunities. Production design and creep factor were definitely high. The castle, the house and the woods all looked great and were well designed. I do wish it could be darker -- read: PITCH BLACK -- throughout because to me that's the scariest, but I'm sure there's just way too much liability with that. All-in-all it was worth the $35 to enjoy some great scares with friends and get my fix of Halloween haunted houses. read more

It was a great experience. Some of the actors were not so great, but the rest were pretty good. The actors come out in the haunted houses and chase you. Here's a tip if you run away or show your fear they will follow you and put their head close to your ear! Another one is my brother said "nice room decor" and the actress followed him and said "what is your room decor." You have to always look left and right to see if someone is going to pop out! They also have some illusions, like flashing lights it makes you feel like your in a cartoon. There is also smoke from a machine. The only reason I gave it a 4 is bc on how loud the noises are. They actors bang things and they hit things in really loud surfaces. If your sensitive to loud noises I don't recommend this for you. But other wise I had a great read more

They let so many people in tonight that the kids have been in line since 8:15 and it's10:25 now. In 2 hours they still are nowhere near entering an attraction in line. Either people are cutting lines or there's entirely too many people. I suggest not wasting your money here. $25 and not able to see one attraction. Average haunted house in Omaha. Not really much to say-lines are long and can take hours unless you pay extra for a fast pass, there is overpriced food vendors, and some decent (and not so scary) actors and attractions throughout the haunted houses. Scary Acres is one of those places you visit once and that's about as much as I can say. Not a very memorable experience. read more

Adult supervision should be mandatory for minors!! I have never heard so much profanity coming from kid's(12-14 year olds) mouths before in my life! The things we heard while waiting in the lines to enter all 3 of the attractions was unbelievable. I felt like I was babysitting everyone else's children last night. I had to tell a group of teenage boys to stop trying to break down the wooden fence because they were kicking and hitting it trying to break it. I also had to tell another group waiting in line behind us that they needed to watch what they were saying, I asked them if they would talk like that in front of their parent's? Line cutters, a big group just walked up like no one else was there and tried to proceed right past us. I had to put a stop to that as well after we overheard them say we cut until we get caught! Really!?!?!. I have 3 children of my own (13-19 years of age) and if I ever heard or seen them act that way I would definitely be whooping some butt! Overall the attractions and characters that interacted with everyone were good but I will not be returning for the simple fact that there were to many unsupervised children! read more

This is a good place to go if you aren't looking for something absolutely terrifying. It's price very fairly but within each of the haunted houses there doesn't seem to be enough people. There are long periods of times when you're just walking through the house without anyone scaring you. read more

Out of all the haunted houses in Omaha I choose this as the best! $25 gets you into three functions and the actors kept my interests as I was waiting in line. Scary Acres use to be one of the best haunted attractions in Omaha. But when you just start shoving people thorugh and none of the actors are set to jump out at you and are just standing there looking at you and talking to each other it is a waste of money. There was an endless sight of people infront of us in side of the castle and and endless line behind us. we stood and counted 40 people behind coming out. Not does that suck for us who go to get scared but it is also not safe. What if a fire were to break out while all of those people are inside how many will get stepped on and pushed over or even get out without being hurt. This all took place in October 2014. I will not be going back to Scary Acres until they get their stuff figured out. Unless you feel like blowing money skip this one. read more

I am a big haunted house fan and I love a good scare but this was far from scary.. very disappointing. They pushed us through really fast and all they did was ask if we wanted to die. Being me I don't really care about death so immediately I blurted out "I wanna die" the rest of the house they ignored me. Wasn't fun at all! They only things that really "scared" me were the loud bangs and the air thing, basically the jump scares. In my opinion Sioux City was way scarier 3 years ago. If you're easily scared this is the place for you. Also I hated the end of the mazes they all ended the same with them chasing you out with a chainsaw. I give them a 3 star only because they were a 4 star last year (2013) and this year only a 2 star. Last year it was set up good and a lot of people and actors were scary. This year it was a little different but it was just lame and boring. There were at least 1/3 of the people that were there last year and actors were terrible. Most people were just laughing instead of scared. Also the food; well I got the fry basket and the fries tasted like they were sitting out for the past 3 days. They were cold as heck and rubbery. Oh yeah, did I tell you they felt the need to raise prices? It's way too overpriced. $25 a person is way too much for this. Last year I paid $15 a person on Halloween night now it's $25. I have been to multiple haunted houses in multiple states. I've been to the Beast in KC and Halloween Haunt at Worlds of Fun. With that being said I came into going to scary acres with some what high expectations because of the YouTube videos and advertisement I saw for Scary Acres. I went to the haunted woods.. I figured I'd test the waters out to see if I wanted to purchase tickets for the other two haunts. Spoiler alert the scariest part of the whole haunt was when they took your ticket to enter the haunt because you realize you just lost your money.. The actors were high school aged students that screamed in people's ears and faces.. not once were there any scary moments..they would literally stand in the open or follow you in hopes of getting a scary by honking horns or banging on things. The Haunt from start to finish lasted 5-6 minutes.I'm not saying don't go to scary acres but I was not pleased with this place at all. Considering they don't give discounts on Friday or Saturday just adds to it because your paying for subpar entertainment. read more

Really fun place to visit around Halloween. The husband and I took our time through the attractions, though people were being rushed in and the next group caught up with us quickly. I wouldn't even give this place ONE STAR if I did'nt have to as 'no stars' isn't an option. Let me tell you about an experience we had & where you should NOT waste your money ....SCARY ACRES! It's been a few years since I have been to Scary Acres but always enjoyed it & taking a group of kids/family/friends up for some haunted fun in the past and then having some hot chocolate & enjoying the bon fires & reminiscing on the frights we had in the haunted houses. We used to wait in long lines of cars & then lines of people once inside as the place was always packed! Tonight however, I AM SO DISAPPOINTED! I brought my daughter, one of three 16 year old girls up from Lincoln & dropped them off to enjoy the haunted houses. They didn't need old Mom along even though they wanted me to go. A friend & I had planned to grab a quick bite to eat & hit a few shops before returning as we knew they would be there a while. All three girls paid for their own tickets for $25 & the $10 additional fast pass as recommended at the ticket booth as lines were forming & cars/people were coming in. Slightly over a 1/2 hour later, we were in the first shop at 120th & Center & I got a call that the girls were done & very upset. They were shoved through all three attractions in groups of 20 or more, told to hurry up, pushed & shoved & already done. They were stuck in the middle of the big groups so most people that even got scared were in the front of the group. They nicely asked at the second house if they could be in the front or back & they were told no, you go in how you are in the line. NICE! They felt the teenage guide was more interested in using his "authority" in booting some other kids out who were using foul language. They also got asked by an employee what time it was while going through because he got to go home at 945. Obviously things have changed & it's become more about how many people they can overcharge & rush through the haunted houses than letting people enjoy it & get the crud scared out of them. Staff not being able to wait to leave isn't a good sign. I understand the fast passes allowed them to walk to the front of the lines & is a nice feature, but them being done so quickly, obviously they were rushed through like cattle & they barely got to really see anything.You have to be kidding me, $35 for a 1/2 hour entertainment? Since I didn't want the night to be a bust, I offered to take them to another haunted house in Omaha since we were already up there. They looked on line & chose the Mystery Manor, which was $12 & had the option of a fast pass for an additional $8. As they were already in the hole from S.A. big time, they decided to wait in line. They were told it would be about an hour & 15 min wait according to the current length of the line & it was actually only about 45. It also said on line the Mystery Manor took 15 minutes or so to go through. Wow, $12 for 1/2 the time they just spent $35 on at S.A. Mystery Manor had good & bad reviews but they were open minded & decided to try it. I am so glad they went. They absolutely loved it, it took 15+ minutes to go through & the groups were 6 or so. They got to see & hear it all, had a great time & the staff was fun scaring people inside & out in the lines. Before leaving Scary Acres, I offered the girls that I would go speak to the staff selling tickets to see if the girls could go through again under the circumstances, but they already had asked & were told no & honestly had such a bad experience, they just wanted to leave. I am sharing to help others hang on to their hard earned money before blowing it here! I am aware there are NO REFUNDS, which is fine & understandable but I am guessing the reason there are NO LINES of cars or very long lines of patrons like there used to be visiting this establishment is because they have lost focus on making sure guests have fun, and now more interested in making a dollar & churning them through as quickly as they can. I rarely complain about something like this, really, & honestly have never left a negative review about a businesses but I feel it important to speak up after this incident & spare you if you should be going. I know there are less & less haunted houses to go to locally which is why we haven't been to S.A. in particular in years & spent the $$ to go KC's The Beast, The Edge Of Hell etc. which is way worth the drive & $$ spent as these haunted houses are out of this world. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident at S.Acres, but I'm hearing & now reading it wasn't. What a bummer. read more

I went a few years ago and absolutely LOVED it, but this year I felt let down. Way understaffed. The sets themselves are great, but they definitely needed more people working and not be pushing groups through so close together. They are getting a lot of money for those tickets and thousands of people show up, so they need to put some of that money back into PAID staff. I walked through several stretches where I noticed hiding places with no one in them and nothing scary going on - just 'void' zones. The actors that were working had to hustle the whole time to keep up with the flow, so were pretty ineffective. This is a REALLY cool looking place and could be great again, so I hope they get it figured out. read more

If it were possible to give a negative star rating this place would it a negative 10! We went with a group of ten people on Halloween night, and had the worse time ever. The staff was rude, and severely lacking in not only presence but talent. We wasted $25.00 each on the "mega pass" option, which was for all three attractions. After waiting in line for 25-40 minutes for each place there was maybe 3-5 people working each attraction and other than literally yelling in peoples ears they did nothing but walk around and visit with each other. The haunted woods is the biggest joke ever, a path through piles of junk with 3 people in the entire attraction, who again did nothing. When we did ask the staff why there was such a poor show put on we were disrespected and spoken to exceedingly rudely by each staff member we spoke too.
