First time at Sumtur Amphitheater located in Papillion off of Highway 370 near Papillon South High School. Not the largest amphitheater I have ever been to, but still pretty nice. Good looking venue and all the seats give a good view of the stage area. You can reserve seats in advance or go with general admission which is more inexpensive and sit with your chairs and blankets in a good sized grassy area behind the main seats. The angle from the grass gives those viewers a decent view of the stage as well. No outside food or beverage allowed, but there is a concession stand inside the venue. A gem of a facility a little off the beaten track. Definitely worth a try. read more

I saw Third Eye Blind and Dashboard Confessional here and was super impressed by this location. Normally parking at concert venues is kind of a pain but they opened up the lot next door at Papillion South High School for free and shuttled people to and from the parking lot which was super nice. When we walked up to the front a few of the security guards were offering extra bug spray to people that didn't have any which was just another small touch that made the venue seem really friendly. Lots of times venues heard people like cattle but at Sumtur they were accommodating and thoughtful. The best and most impressive part was the venue itself. In the fifth row, I was stunned by how clear of a view to the stage I had and how clean and well kept the place was. I was at eye level with the bands which was amazing. The seats were by far the best I've had at a venue for a really reasonable price. Also, the bathrooms were awesome. Short lines and super clean. OH OH OH AND they serve a really kick ass craft beer. Would definitely go to another show here. read more

This is my favorite venue to see bands, but if you don't like outdoors or sitting on a lawn, its not for you. You do have the option of purchasing seats in the front, though. I saw Twenty-One Pilots here in the pouring rain and the concert became legendary from all the bad weather. The roads leading up to Sumtur were TERRIBLE. There's tons of construction going on and the closest anyone could park was like 3-5 blocks away. Had to run through mud and rock roads to get back to the car. read more

For the past two years I have attended the Omaha Blues Ed final show here. And each year the band Dilemma has been the best. They have an extraordinarily talented drummer and he kind of carries the group. The sound is great. The show goes off on time. Best road crew that money can buy! And thanks to the Papio-Missouri NRD for purchasing the land for this venue and Walnut Creek. Special thanks to former director David D, Begley for standing firm on the second vote to buy the real estate. If Begley would have switched his vote, there would be no Walnut Creek or Sumtur today. read more

I was here less than a week ago for a twenty one pilots concert. It was raining that night and the concert was amazing, a moment hard to forget. The location is very small which I look at as good and bad. Good because you seem to be pretty close even when your far away ( we got seats, yay! ) but it just seems pretty close to stage even if your far back in the grass. Bad because since its so small when it's jam packed I get a bit clostraphobic from too many people and not enough walking space. It is located right next to a school, a bunch of corn fields and a little neighborhood. The type of surroundings I'm use to, but odd for a venue to be placed. Not a lot of parking but luckily we came early and got a good spot in the parking lot. Leaving was a pain, long lines which is expected but how it's set up leaves a lot of people trapped in their parking space. I don't frequent concerts, being a bit of an introvert and getting clostraphobic easily. I know.. I'm weird. :p But this concert may change that for me. I really had a blast and it wasn't too overwhelming for me. The venue is small, easy to figure out where to go and what to do. It made me not feel so clueless. Not very many tents to buy merch or beer. I forgot my wallet in the car anyways.. Oops! Don't forget anything before you get in line because once your inside you cannot re-enter. Next time I will remember because after a while of jumping up and down you need a drink in your life! Lol. read more

Giving this venue 3 stars. The facility is nice but the night we went the line was around the block for both entrances. They were screening people harder than they do at the airport. At the time the concert started there were still people in line. I would have been very frustrated had I paid more than $60 for a concert and missed part of it bc of security. In addition, it was so hot that one person suffered heat exhaustion and EMTs were called out. My only other complaint is that the sound crew was set up right in the front middle of the lawn area which makes the entire area behind it unusable because your view is completely obstructed. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Other than that, food and alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. Seemed reasonable for a concert venue and those lines moved quickly. You can bring chairs and we brought a blanket to sit onus you're GA. If you're going in the dead of summer you might want to bring an umbrella for shade too -- at least until the sun goes down. read more

General admission on the grass is fine but sitting in the reserved seats closer to the stage is dynamite! Tons of leg and elbow room. The red lager was pricey at $7 but delicious. read more

We recently went here for our first concert. Wow, what a fantastic venue!! It is very clean and well organized. Upon driving up we were directed exactly where to park in the lot by multiple people from the entrance to the exact spot. I appreciate this as there are so many ignorant people who can't park and can really jack up the proper flow in a parking lot. Walking up there was already multiple lines forming waiting for the gates to open. To save time, they had someone checking IDs and banding them (to be able to drink) ahead of time so that was one less thing they had to do up front or once you got inside. Nice! Once the doors opened, they made everyone aware of the lower entrance and directed some people to another line to ease congestion. Be prepared to be wanded and have your bag chair and purse checked upon entering. (As is standard for all outdoor venues nowadays) All of this takes time. We had reserve seats so it wasn't necessary for us to be there that early. However, if you have a GA tix and want to get the best seat, you will want to get there when the doors open. The grassy area here is nice and the venue is small enough that it is very intimate. I was very pleasantly surprised by the reserve seats. They are roomy and the aisles are far enough apart that you don't even have to get up to let someone by. Score! The other thing that is beautiful is how the seats are set or graded. The people two rows ahead of you can be standing and you can still sit and see just fine. Hello?! How sweet is this?! I wish all places were made this way. They have water and beer (local craft brew even) available, as well as fountain soda. When we left it wasn't crazy and didn't take forever. Traffic seemed to flow fine getting out of there. I am very excited for the wonderful shows that are beginning to come here as well as other events that are held here. read more

Great show, terrible logistics. Gates opened an hour before the show, we got there when the gates opened, and we waited in line for at least an hour to get in. The show started before many people (including us!) were able to get in. I also saw at least one woman in a wheelchair dropped off by her husband and left to wait in the blazing sun while he parked 1/4 mile away (remote parking lot) and walked back to retrieve her. Drove 6 hours to see this particular performer, and he was worth it... But I'd never pay to see him or anyone else in this venue again. They were very unprepared for the numbers attending. read more
