If I could give 0 stars, I would…read more I hired Modern Family Law during one of the most difficult periods of my life and trusted their guidance throughout my divorce and custody case. Unfortunately, I am deeply disappointed with the outcome and my overall experience. My attorney, Bridgette Harrison, was professional and I believe she intended to help. However, I was encouraged to sign agreements and paperwork that have since created significant challenges in my case. I am now working with new counsel to try to undo some of the damage and move my case in a better direction. One of my biggest concerns is the cost. The amount I was billed has put me in severe financial distress, and I am seriously considering bankruptcy because of the legal fees. It is difficult for me to understand how leaving a parent in that position serves the best interests of a child. I was also frustrated by the firm's billing and collection practices. I frequently received emails stating that I would be dropped as a client if payment was not made by a certain date. Even after communicating that I had the funds available and intended to pay, the collection emails continued. During an already stressful custody case, these communications felt unnecessarily aggressive. I also questioned some billing entries. For example, I was billed for an email and then billed again because attachments were allegedly omitted and had to be resent. When I raised the issue, I was told it would be reviewed and that a credit might be issued, but I never received a follow-up. To be fair, my ex-spouse's attorney has been extremely aggressive, which certainly made the case more difficult. However, I expected stronger advocacy, better strategic guidance, and more reasonable billing practices from Modern Family Law. The firm has many positive reviews, which is one reason I hired them. Unfortunately, my experience did not match those reviews, and after reflecting on everything that occurred, I cannot recommend their services.
