Dr. Schillinger is the ONLY provider who has actually helped me with my bulging disc. I have tried physical therapy more than once, and didn't want to do a cortisone injection because I wanted a permanent solution - not something that was a maybe. I complained to my primary doctor, who after 3 YEARS agreed to get me imaging. I typically had a hard time bending in any direction after walking for about 10min. I was in so much pain daily and my range of motion, and regular movement was shot. I worked with Dr. Schillinger for 8 weeks, 2x per week, consistently, and the pain is no longer. I only have some tightness at times, but I was operating at a 9-10 on the pain scale, and now am at a 0 daily. No pain like before. He truly cares about his patients and their well being, is honest, realistic, fair (even with pricing for the area we live in), and goes the extra mile for the people in his care. This is a self centered, know it all, pontificating doctor that centers all he does on himself. Stay quiet because he does all the talking, you will soon realize everything you say is refutable and wrong. From the beginning he inspires you by telling you how professional, healthy and charitable he is. He talks about his great experience and how fit and smart he is. His consultation is a revolving door of patients that come in and out from two little rooms every 5 minutes. Your case is already diagnosed even before you see him and you're informed in advance with a preprinted generic pamphlet that in order for you to get well you need to see him at least 3 times a week for a month and several more times for a year. Then the show begins, you listen, you pay attention and he continues to talk; spine models, literature and condescending lectures on why you're there but not to worry because he'll take care of it all. On the side he sells, nutrition, stress, meditative and relaxation methods he has created just for you. Then you're asked to go to the little room and in less than 5 minutes of brisk manipulation you're out in the front desk asked to book solid consultations, classes and lectures. I just moved to the area and was in desperate need of a new chiropractor. I am so lucky to have found Dr Schillinger! He is a wonderful chiropractor. I had so much neck pain I was taking ibuprofen like candy, but after 2-3 visits he had me feeling good again. A lot of chiropractors have difficulty adjusting my neck, but he almost always gets it on the first try. It's clear he has been doing this a long time and is very skilled. He is also very focused on stress reduction techniques and gives lots of useful tips and pointers to treat the whole body. Also worth noting, the Katie at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. They are flexible with scheduling and (shocking) they actually take insurance. In my experience, finding doctors that are affordable and take insurance in Marin is almost impossible. It's a family friendly practice so if you need to lug the kids along with you they have stuff to play with and feel very welcome. read more

Dr. Schillinger is the best!! I originally started seeing him about a year ago. I'm an ex-competitive gymnast, a current hairstylist, and I've had a few car accidents in my past. Needless to say I have some issues with my spine. I'm a chronic migraine sufferer and decided to try out the chiropractic route in searching for some relief. I had a really great experience going to Schillinger Chiropratic. I started seeing Dr. Mark after pulling my back out and being house ridden for 2 months. Dr. Mark showed tremendous care in not only getting me feeling better, but maintaining a pain free back for 2 years now. He taught me about stretching and daily practices that will serve me for the rest of my life. If I was ever uncomfortable with something (I don't like my neck adjusted), he never questioned me and always trusted me to know my body. From day one I found his excessive and gratuitous discussion of his "charitable work" off putting and a little odd, frankly. I was there to make my back feel better and not to listen to the self-aggrandizing monologue. The deal-killer was when he became dismissive and condescending about another doc's diagnosis of a medical condition from which I was suffering. I am simply amazed by how much better I feel after only 2 months of treatment from Dr. Schillinger. My neck pain from a car accident and cervical spine surgery 25 years ago had never left me and was getting increasingly worse, along with debilitating headaches. After years of physical therapy that never gave me the relief I needed, I thought I was destined to be in that horrible pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Schillinger has proven otherwise. As a bodyworker my standard for health care providers is that they can respond to my needs in a comprehensive way. Mark embodies the care in health care. I feel heard and responded to when he treats me. I get to request treatment that feels right for me. I never feel pushed to be adjusted, he finds lots of ways to treat me when adjustment doesn't feel safe. This is important as many people avoid chiropractic because they think it's just cracking. When my low back froze he got me moving again in one treatment, with no cracking, now I refer all my clients with major low back issues to him. He also taught me a whole series of strengthening exercises using a therasizer band that has my neck feeling stronger and healthier than it has since I was a kid. I have taken his Yoga philosophy class too which is just flat out fun! The joy he embodies is contagious.
