He provided us with two work references, both of whom said he was not good at communicating, but did complete jobs and his work was decent for the prices he charged. We hired Doug to down some large trees on our property, dig stumps, clean out/edge a small pond, clean up brush, and fill low spots where water was laying. He quoted us $5000 for the work and said he could start within a week. We agreed. He came one day and started the work, then asked for partial payment at the end of that day. I agreed and paid him for the work done, and he assured me he would be back to finish the rest. He NEVER came back. Our property was left a mess and we own no large equipment to finish the work ourselves. I called and texted dozens of times over the next few months and he said he was busy on other jobs, but that he would still get to ours by fall. Now he does not answer calls or texts. BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR - DO NOT PAY A PENNY UNTIL ALL THE WORK IS DONE TO YOUR SATISFACTION! Learned a hard lesson on this one...

I was looking for a person who could fix a drainage problem I've been having in my yard. Two persons told Dean DeSain from Dakmer Services would do the work right & give me a fair price. I called Dean he came out looked at what was there was to do and explained what he could do to fix my issue. He sent me a quote stating the start date would depend on the weather. I signed the contract and sent it back. Dean called after the rain let up to let me know he would start 3-4 days later. He worked in my yard carefully making sure to not tear up the whole thing. He called me every day after he left; as I wasn't home, letting me know what he did and when he would be back weather permitting. He finished before I thought he would. The work he did fixed the issue with my drainage. He was conscientious making sure I knew what he was doing, when he would be back and getting the job done in a reasonable amount of time. Also, under the stated quote. It was nice to have a professional person that I felt comfortable with. I would refer Dean to anyone needing drainage or excavating services.
