We hired Al Longo of Deck Builders to build a deck that required a building permit along with…read moreperiodic inspections by our Town Code Enforcement Office. During the framing phase, the deck did not pass inspection. Al was provided with input to rectify the issues (lack of appropriate drainage, per code). Not only did Al not acknowledge that there was a drainage issue, and he also didn't review any Town code requirements for drainage prior to to starting construction. At this point, Al refused to continue to work with the Town to rectify the issue and/or come up with alternative solutions. He proceeded to treat all of us in a completely unacceptable and unprofessional manner (to put it mildly) and the agreement had to be terminated. He left us hanging by refusing to continue to work with the Town. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE DO ANY BUSINESS WHATSOEVER WITH AL LONGO AND DECK BUILDERS, ALSO KNOWN AS DECK KING.

DJ was able to arrange an estimate the following day and arrived promptly on the day and time agreed upon. After viewing the project, DJ offered his advice and expertise on how to best achieve our desired results. He said he would provide a detailed quote the following day and true to his word he did so. We hired DeDe Construction & DJ provided a start date and a detailed day by day timeline of the work to be completed. DJ and his partner Oleg arrived on time each day and went directly to work, completing the daily tasks expertly, efficiently and with attention to detail. Crew started on day one. 50% of crew quit at the end of day one. Pay conflicts. Crew of two…read morestopped working after working a few 6 hour days and the house was left open to the weather for 2 weeks. The yard was left a mess with nails, cigarette butts that the puppies could ingest and siding that was torn off the house left. The entrance way lights were destroyed and exposed electrical circuits were exposed and dangerous. Entrance ways were blocked causing safety hazards. Boss / owner came back with a new contract weeks later asking for a lot more money. I had to hire another company to finish the job. Court proceedings followed and the evidence proved staples exteriors to be at fault. The court ordered a financial return that Mark Staples has never paid. With no other choice I put a Lien on his property for the court ordered award plus interest.
