Mike and Melissa Segelin are the real deal. They're the only ones we work with now and we couldn't…read morerecommend them more highly. Here's why: We renovated a duplex for our family, essentially replacing everything, addressing grading / drainage issues, and installing a lot of new pavement / concrete surfaces. We'll spare you details of the endless parade of contractors we had to deal with; we were at the end of our rope. Then we decided to hire Mike as our General Contractor; after that, costs went down and quality skyrocketed. What we experienced: - Priority #1: Safe and clean worksite - Mike and Melissa treated the entire project as if it were their own - They considered our needs as if we were family - Detail-oriented but always kept in mind how other parts of the project would be affected - Offered multiple options for every aspect, so we could find the perfect balance of price and quality - Mike was always on-site, supervising the contractors (seriously, from dawn to dusk, I have no idea when this guy sleeps!) - A few of the sub-contractors we hired, before Mike came on the project, had tried to screw us over, intimidating and threatening us; Mike moved quickly and decisively, resolving things in our best interests - A solid network of high-quality contractors - Melissa's understanding of current design / decoration trends helped us find solutions that fit our taste - timeless! We loved working with Mike and Melissa so much that we also had them renovate our old house; literally just discussed the scope / goals, gave them the keys, and lived our lives while they worked their magic. When we sold it, we got more than two times what we put into that renovation. Couldn't be happier!

I called in April to schedule for September because two years ago we almost missed out. They weren't scheduling out that far and Jessica said she'd call me in August. Got a call last week, was asked if they could do it in August, I said no problem, they did it yesterday!

This year I made a point of showing the crew several moss spots in the middle of the driveway before they started. I'd already treated and killed the moss and explained that the leftover residue still had to be physically scrubbed off before sealing. They told me they'd brush it out, which is also exactly what the contract I signed says they'd do: clean the surface with steel brooms to get rid of all debris before sealing. That's not what happened. My security cameras caught the crew making a phone call, walking around, running a weed trimmer, blowing off the surface, and then sealing right over the spots I'd pointed out. No brushing at all. Sure enough, the areas that wouldn't cure were the same spots where the moss had been, and there was mud cracking on top of that where the sealer got laid on too thick. Same exact failure I had the year before. When I brought it up, they basically told me they'd done everything they could and were closing it out. I'd think twice before hiring them, especially if your driveway has any shade or needs prep first. And get every promise in writing.
