The initial application or get to know you process is painless, just a normal half inch stack of papers but you would do this in any Care Facility. They love BlueCross BlueShield here. I remember the doctor that saw me I believe her name is Maria was very helpful on asking me the questions and answering any of mine. I cannot really remember when I got this type of treatment in Houston, things like this make me want to move here. Very very clean facility, it's almost like it opened up a week ago or something.

We have Tricare insurance which does pay for urgent care but when my wife went in for an issue (after calling her primary care manager and being casually referred to this location) we received a bill for the visit. After talking to their billing department I was informed that Community Express Care IS NOT AN URGENT CARE FACILITY and thus does not bill as an urgent care visit. After reviewing their website they are very careful to not say they are an urgent care facility. Bottom line: if you are expecting your insurance to cover an urgent care visit make sure they view this location as urgent care because Tricare does not.

Shannon Medical Center should honor their commitment to care for their patients.  My provider did…read morenot fill a prescription before leaving so I was told that I had to come in to get that prescription refilled, but that I would not be charged.  I came in as requested and that doctor told me that it wasn't necessary for me to come in to have that prescription filled.  Shannon used this as an opportunity to file my insurance unnecessarily and bill me the balance.  When I called Shannon to dispute the charges, they said since I came in there was nothing they could do.  The doctor himself told me I didn't need to come in to get that RX refilled.  Shannon only has Shannon's interests at heart as I had to drive 2 hours and then be billed for something that my provider should have taken care of originally.   I am transferring my care immediately as I feel that since I started seeing them in July 2025 it has been nothing but a joke as this has just been one of the many problems I have had with them.

This was the VERY FIRST time I was at this Hospital ER (been there 5 times total in 30 years) that I was not treated like the typical Hypochondriac Woman. Mind you I NEVER go to the DR not even Primary Care. So, if I cast a shadow on their door it is serious. So Michael walks in looks at me and takes ACTION! Next thing I know I am hooked up to IVs for swelling / hydration etc. WOW. I actually was getting help. He was courteous, professional, personable, and matter of fact honest about what my body was going through and said the effects may last for days. This man actually cared about my health. I have never had any good experiences in an ER. This was a good one. Additionally, my friend had to go to the ER yesterday with severe abdominal and back pain and he found she had a Kidney Stone. I did not get called in for 30 minutes. Voiced my unhappiness with nurse. Nurse was rude. Dr Kim refused to see me. Spoke with practice manager and rescheduled with a different physician. Did some research on dr Kim and found out she had many one star reviews. I would very highly NEVER recommend Dr Sunhee Kim at Shannon health care.

I believe this was abusive behavior and I'm concerned this might be normal for the access clinic because most of their clientele is underserved communities. There are only two options in what happened to me and neither are good. The attendant was angry as she acted and she purposely tried to hurt me. The attendant does this normally and is very poorly trained.

Dr. Lewis himself is very knowledgeable and friendly. To answer some of the comments made in the previous Yelp: yes, in comparison to larger cities - their profile is a lot smaller. I have had approximately 8 appointments and only once I had to wait 40 minutes to see the Doctor. As with any other practice, sometimes a Doctor falls behind on schedule. The reason I chose Dr. Lewis was not due to his extensive cases, Snapchat videos, or fancy social media (he doesn't have any of that). I chose Dr. Lewis because when I went for my initial consult he didn't "sell" me a treatment option. He educated me, told me how every option would affect me then let me make the decision myself. He has always made himself available (even after hours) and he cares about the quality of his work. I would recommend Dr. Lewis's services and I would never hesitate to go back to him. I would also recommend that you (as the person inquiring about services) would speak to more than one Dr. and go with the one you find yourself more comfortable with. I don't want to dissuade anyone from using Concho Valley ER. I've come here for the past two years…read more Once, I came in for a headache and they found that I needed my spleen removed. They are usually extremely thorough and caring and curious to your condition to help find the proper diagnosis. I love this place and all its staff. Yesterday at 3 AM I came in with strep. My test result was negative because it was too early to test positive. Dr. Hamilton was my doctor and asked what brought me in. When I said I have strep, he said, "no you don't. You have a sore throat." He did not ask me a single question of why I thought I had strep, what symptoms I was having. He told me INCORRECTLY that I did not have strep. I have no spleen. Strep is the most dangerous thing I can catch without a spleen. It would have been detrimental to my health if I had listened to him and not taken antibiotics and went home without treatment. From what I understand, a doctor doesn't like a patient diagnosing themselves. I have strep so often, I get it multiple times a year, I often know I have it before I test positive. He was not looking for the context on why I knew I had it, he didn't care at all. I didn't stand up for myself or tell him these things because he made me feel so little, he didn't ask, he kept talking without curiosity and rather with criticism, and told me that they "can't prescribe antibiotics every time I have a sore throat." There was eggsudate in my throat he refused to acknowledge. Not that he was going to check in the first place, I brought it up first, handed him my own phones flashlight, and he claimed it was just irritation. I promise you there was already a white patch by my to tonsils at this point- I had checked before I went to the ER. It's now 29 hours later and my throat is white. I have a temperature of 99 and body aches. If I went into the urgent care I would test positive in a second. 29 hours ago I had strep, and in this second I have strep. The only difference is the rapid test result. He did end up prescribing me antibiotics after he felt my lymph nodes but he did not tell me nor acknowledge that he could be wrong, that I could have strep, or that it could be anything at all! He simply said "you have one inflamed lymph node, let me send off a culture" and those were his last words to me. The inflamed lymph node by the way was on the side with the eggsudate in my throat. A nurse handled the rest of the interaction with the care and respect that you'd expect a doctor to have. I have never left a review anywhere but if Dr. Hamilton is your doctor at 3 AM, be prepared for him to let his mood interfere with his professional duties. I think that this doctor's mistake and ego could've really injured me. I can't imagine working 24 hour shifts or being woken up and expected to deal with patients. But I was scared and hurting and all I wanted was him to help me, not sing and dance and do backflips.

I was put in the hospital on 7/27/12 to induce labor. My labor nurses were very attentive and sweet, I was very happy with them. I honestly couldn't think of a better group of caring individuals. Same goes for my Doctor...Dr. Henke. He is a good man, very relaxed (which makes me a little nervous sometimes) but he's down to business when it's serious. Now, here's the bad part. After I had my daughter & we all ooohed and ahhhed over her, they took her to the nursery to bathe her and look her over again. About 30 minutes later, a pediatrician came in & introduced himself and told me that while the nurse was trimming my daugher's belly button with a SCALPEL, she accidentally missed and "nicked" my daughters leg. He said she would require stitches. Now, I don't know what a "nick" is to anyone else, but she ended up having 7 stitches on her little leg. The cut goes from one side of her thigh, to the other. I was livid. WHY on Earth would they use a scalpel on a baby? They obviously have no control over their movement. Shouldn't there have been two nurses, in that case? And, the OBGYN cut her cord with scissors...couldn't they? I did address this to the Patient Rep over the phone & she told me they now have a "no scalpels around babies" policy in force. I hate that it took my daughter being injured to have that, but I am glad it's there. I am also glad the cut wasn't deeper and didnt sever an artery. The nurse personally brought my daughter to me and apologized. I thought that was very noble of her and it was appreciated. But, I am still regretful that we placed someone so special in the care of Community Hospital. After I gave it some thought, I am not sure if that nurse worked a very long shift or had just come back in for duty. I saw her at 6am and did some paperwork with her, and she was there at 7:11 pm when my daughter was born. It was after 10 when she brought my daughter back to me so I REALLY hope it wasn't one long shift. That would make anyone too tired to focus properly. My nurses after delivery...not good. The only saving grace was my night nurse, Tobey, who was the sweetest woman alive. I cannot say enough good things about her. My day nurses were very busy and didn't get me pain meds on time, resulting in me hurting. I asked for them earlier the next time knowing there would be a delay, but was told it wasn't time for another round, so I had to wait. And, again...I didnt get them on time. Our release date was more of the same. No one ever came in to take birth information, they were going to let us leave without any record of what we wanted to name the baby, etc. I told the nurse no one came to see us and she went and checked and somehow we got "overlooked". We had to do it all by mail and they didnt even send us postage stamped envelopes! not a big deal normally but the last thing you want to do after having a baby is run to the post office to purchase postage and send off letters. We just had a very bad stay. I don't think we will choose Community again if we have more children (even though I love Dr. Henke). It is just too disorganized & scary.
