I entered store and was id'd twice. Jesus, I'm just buying generic cargo pants, not a firearm. Now the pants. They're junk. Faded from navy blue to a washed-out blue after first washing! One of the two flex-cuff straps came off. Left pocket stitching came off. Right thigh pocket stitching is unraveling. Buy elsewhere. Pants need to last more than 1 week. read more

I made a Huge mistake, relying on these 1-star Yelp reviews! Because of the poor reviews, I went on a wild goose chase day of uniform shopping in Brooklyn and Chinatown - a melting pot of rude, out-of-stock, shady, overpriced, etc. So, today, I went to Schlesinger B & Sons, since they sounded helpful on the phone, and had my size in stock. I found them to be courteous, professional, helpful, well-stocked, fairly priced, tailor onsite, and are convenient to the W 14th subway stop. Got 2 pair of uniform pants from them, i went in and they did not have any to try on, so the guy hand measured my legs and waist with a measuring tape, asked what size i usually wear, i told him it depends on the cut as i know cuts vary, anyways, i told him i wear a 36 or 38. Keep in mind i was hand measured by this guy, So a few days later, i get the pants, try them on (a sz 38) and i cant even close them at the waist!!! I contacted these guys albeit 3-4 weeks later (i was using my old pants) and the guy told me that he will "try" to have his tailor get at least 1 pair done because he is going on vacation... So i guess the business stops until he returns then??!!. I told him to try and get both done, (it would take 15-20 mins for a tailor to do both).. anyways, after 3 phone calls and 3 weeks!! this guy calls me and says that the pants are ready. 3 weeks later!!! A customer with a paid for uniform should NOT have to wait nearly a month for their error as he hand measured my waist and still gave me a kids sized waist. I would look elsewhere next time and have made my co workers aware of this for future purchases which now will be somewhere else. read more

There are two guys that work here, Mark (the older gentleman who wears glasses) and Jeffrey (the tall younger crony guy). The 1st time I went here, I dealt with Mark and he was actually very pleasant and helpful when working with me in having a braid sewn onto a pair of uniform pants which I needed done under time constraint. He said that it would cost $20 to have this done. When I went to pick up my pants I decided to buy 2 strands of braid at a cost of $12 ($6 per braid) separately so I could experiment and sew the braid on myself to the three additional pants I had at home . I ended up not having time to do this at home and decided to bring the pants to Schlesinger's. I called Mark up and he told me it wouldn't be a problem and that we would work something out since I had already brought the braid from him. When I came back and spoke to Mark to work out a deal, Jeffrey who I can only assume is the manager came over and said yeah the price he(Mark) gave you last time was wrong and that there's not way we can braid your pants for less than $20 per pair. I asks him how much it would cost and he told me that it would depend on how long it took the seamstress to do do the work and that the seamstress spoke only spanish and that it would probably cost no more than $25 (basically dodging the question). I explained to him that I had bought the braid on my previous trip from their store and that if anything it shouldn't be more than $20 if anything because all the other stores were charging from $20-$25 to have the same work done. Mark interjected and said we'll do one pair and see how much it cost and then if you want the work done on your other pants we'll go from there. Against my better judgement I agreed. The following day I get a call from Jeffrey and he explains to me that it would cost $25 to have the work done on my pants and that he was giving me a break because it should be $30 to have the work done ($10 more that what I was originally charged). I explained to him that I bought the braid from them at $6 a piece so how was that a break? He then proceeded to tell me how he didn't have time to debate this over the phone and asked if I wanted to get the work on the other two pants done. I told him no and that I would pay for the pair that he had done and pick up the other two pairs and get the work done elsewhere. (I found another place to get the work done for $20 a pair of pants, and being I had the extra braid it came out to $12). So instead of doing 3 pairs at $20 each and making $60 dollars and possibly getting a future returning customer he got $25 and a non returning customer only cause he wanted to ultimately make $90. Jeffrey's attitude and customer service is TERRIBLE. I'm sorry that Mark has to work with/for such a terrible salesman with no personality who only wants to make a quick buck and not build a customer base. read more
