There were a few different types of rooms to choose from and we chose the Penthaus 15 because it was on the River. This room is not for tall people (we are not). Choose another room if you're tall! We loved that it's all original buildings from 1800s in the area. Had good plumbing and amazing AC (thank God!) and quite a bit of charm. Please note this is not a bed n breakfast anymore. But The Pantry is a part of the main office and they serve breakfast for reasonable prices. My lox and bagel was amazing and my husband's taco was delicious. Breakfast was a local affair. So many people and everyone was small town friendly. We sat on the porch but there were tables inside and on the back patio. The Texas Pecan Coffee was so good I bought some to bring home. Location of the mansion was perfect! We never even got in our car all weekend!! Shops, live music, bars, parks, river tubing was all within a few blocks. So close that if we needed to cool down (June in TX with no ac in some shops and restaurants) we would just swing back to the room for about 15 mins, cool down, and then keep going. So much live music to enjoy. I see some reviews that complain about music at night but we were not bothered by any of it. We had to strain to hear anything outside our room. The Inn provides earplugs but we didn't use them. We've already promised each other to come back again in the fall when it's a little cooler. And of course we will stay at the Gruene Mansion Inn.

With how high the rates are it should definitely be a B&B still, but i guess high prices are just something that people get away with now! Regardless the room we stayed in was beautiful and clean and had updated renovations. The outside looks rustic but the inside is very comfortable and relaxing. Besides the music that is playing next door, sleep was great. The beds are comfy. We enjoyed rocking in the chairs on the patio watching the people. Plenty of parking during the week for guests. Staff was great and helpful.

The rooms are beautifully done and we didn't have any other issues but this one was a big deal and I asked management to contact me and no one did. I even felt like they were put out when we asked the front desk to change our sheets. I always pull my sheets back to check beds cause I'm weird like that. And this time there was blood spatter all over where your feet would be. I couldn't tell if it was fresh or stained but it was nasty. It even ruined a romantic evening when we discovered this. We took photos and videos and gave it to the front desk guy and I asked for someone to contact me. No one even apologized. And they weren't really shocked so it's obviously a common thing. Maybe they were just stained but either way looked like a murder scene lol. I'm not sure if we will stay here again because of it. I'm sharing in case it happens again or so they can fix the issue. White sheets should be white. No blood stains in a nice hotel. I'd expect that at a cheap motel but not a worldmark. I would like to say it's a great location and the employees were friendly. They will try to get you to go to a sales presentation and it's worth it to learn and get a freebie! The game room is fun and the pool was nice. I used the gym a lot as well. It's nice but some of the machines do not have plugs so that's strange.

Macie initially greeted us and showed us around explaining everything and all the details. When we asked if we could have a morning wedding and a brunch, she was so accommodating and ready to make that happen, special, and beautiful! We were also handed a preferred vendor packet of all the amazing people that they know can be counted on and do a great job! So, we went with their recommendations for most all of our vendors. We could not have been more pleased with everyone. They all worked well together and were so eager to make our daughter's day so very special. So thank you to Joey, Katie, Macie, and Abbie for the best day ever!! If you are thinking about a venue, hurry and head on over to The Hidden Gem of Gruene! They are ready to make your dream day come true!!

For this trip, we didn't want to go out a lot, so we took our own food. There are multiple grills (gas and wood) on property, and a mini fridge in the room, as well as cold drawers in the cabana! It was a little cool still, so we opted out of swimming, but the pool is very nice and shaded from the harsh summer sun that's just around the corner. If you want to stay connected, there is WiFi throughout and TV's in your room and under the cabana outside. If you go with a group, there is more than enough room inside and out, including seating in the cabana! All of this, and they are pet friendly! Bentley had just as a relaxing weekend as we did, although we suspect he never works that hard at home either. ;-) Totally worth it!

The kids enjoyed the tubing in the river a lot!! There is a big yard where ballgames, laser tag, flying drones, and water ballon battles occurred daily!! Also the big parking area allowed all 67 of our Saturday guests a place to park safely and conveniently!! Gruene offers lots to do and we had a fun filled, busy week! The owners, Lynnae and Jeff became fast friends and they accommodated our every need! They have the place outfitted perfectly from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the outdoor furniture! They run through the summer season for a few months daily, then switch to weekends only in the late summer. I would advise getting there as they open to get the best parking - we arrived around noon a couple weeks ago and had to park at a lot that was a little less than a mile away. Not so bad for just the two of us, but a lot harder for those with coolers and bigger groups. The parks are amazing - so many fun tube rides, body slides, and some faster tube blasters that are so much fun! I especially like the double rider tubes in Schlitterbahn east, like the Black Knight. I highly recommend the Fast Pass - it is a steep price but well worth it for accessing more of the rides. We felt like the regular fast pass was more than enough as we didn't have time to access all the rides once throughout our day. We also only visit once per season, though. It's been pretty crowded on both of our recent visits - Saturdays in July and August. I would guess it's less busy during the weekdays. We got to ride the Falls (worlds longest tube ride) on our visit in mid-August but they shut it down for the rest of the season the day after we went. All in all definitely worth visiting at any age and very family-friendly. You can rent a locker for your belongings and some folks keep their coolers on the tables by the larger pool areas. You can bring in food/drink or purchase in the park and they have Dippin Dots!

One stared at me blankly and pointed to a QR code. When I told her my phone was locked in the car, and asked what to do because I obviously can't scan without a phone, and there's no reentry. She just stared at me and pointed to the QR code. I honestly thought she was on herion. ( My neice autistic neice was in full meltdown because it was her birthday, and she lost her glasses on one of the rides). When we first got there, we went to customer service, to get the autism passes. I'm neurodivergent, and my neice is 16 and autistic. Her mon, brother's friend came as well. The woman at customer service looked like a deer caught in inheadlights, when asked about the passes. Then refused to give them to us. Then changed her mind and gave us each 1. It was only good for 1 ride. We were supposed to go back to the customer service booth after each ride. The first ride, had no idea what to do with the passes. When we went back for the next ride, the refused us a second time, and only gave us 2. We told them to keep them. I've been to many amusement and watermarks, with my neices ( I have 2 both ironically are fully autistic. ) I live in Illinois and visiting. I would not recommend this for anyone with autistic children or family members. It's the least accommodating place I've ever been.
