After my Lyndon B. Johnson Library visit in Austin, TX, I headed straight to Worldmark (WM) New…read moreBraunfels in New Braunfels, TX. What a lovely resort! And what a huge 2 story 2 bedroom cabin-like unit! They only have 2 bedroom units at this resort so it was that or nothing. This resort is perfect for families. I was travelling by myself so it was more than enough space for me. At times, I was a little scared to be in the unit alone so I left the lights on during the night. Anyway, I'm part of the bold and fearless "CS" cult (inside joke for those who know LOL) so I did overcome my fears. If the unit wasn't so dang big... my fears would not have creeped up in the first place LOL. Check-in was a breeze. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. I had some wonderful conversations with Amy (concierge) and Lauren (manager)... thank you both for a very warm welcome. Got my unit key and drove over to Building 9 Unit 1024. The unit had two entrances which I thought was odd... I only used one of them. Bottom floor had the spacious living room, fantastic full kitchen, nice dining area, wonderful master bedroom with king bed + full bath, good size laundry room, and quaint guest restroom. Upstairs had the 2nd bedroom with queen bed and its respective bathroom, and a pleasant loft sitting area. Overall, the unit had great space and was very comfortable. I primary stayed downstairs since I didn't have any use for the upstairs. I also signed up for another WM owner's update even though I had already attended 2 WM owner's updates during my Texas trip thus far... but hey, if they offer it, I will be more than happy to entertain it... I think owners are allowed to attend as many as they want... at least that's what I've been informed. Any chance to get the owner in the door with sales, it's another opportunity for them to get a sale. Ken and Clint (sales folks) are very good at what they do and I commend them. They almost got me to buy more WM credits, but no cigar! Thank you Ken and Clint for your time and efforts (literally 3+ hours, but it was all good... didn't even feel like 3+ hours... we must have been having a lot of fun conversations LOL)! I appreciate you both for trying. And thanks for the gift! I was only here for 2 nights which was plenty for me. This location is very close to the famous town called Gruene. I spent my 2nd day walking around Gruene which I will do separate reviews for it. Would I stay at this resort again? YES I WOULD, but hopefully next time I will have more company with me so we can use the whole space rather than some space. Happy Worldmark'ing!

The rooms are beautifully done and we didn't have any other issues but this one was a big deal and I asked management to contact me and no one did. I even felt like they were put out when we asked the front desk to change our sheets. I always pull my sheets back to check beds cause I'm weird like that. And this time there was blood spatter all over where your feet would be. I couldn't tell if it was fresh or stained but it was nasty. It even ruined a romantic evening when we discovered this. We took photos and videos and gave it to the front desk guy and I asked for someone to contact me. No one even apologized. And they weren't really shocked so it's obviously a common thing. Maybe they were just stained but either way looked like a murder scene lol. I'm not sure if we will stay here again because of it. I'm sharing in case it happens again or so they can fix the issue. White sheets should be white. No blood stains in a nice hotel. I'd expect that at a cheap motel but not a worldmark. I would like to say it's a great location and the employees were friendly. They will try to get you to go to a sales presentation and it's worth it to learn and get a freebie! The game room is fun and the pool was nice. I used the gym a lot as well. It's nice but some of the machines do not have plugs so that's strange.

Macie initially greeted us and showed us around explaining everything and all the details. When we asked if we could have a morning wedding and a brunch, she was so accommodating and ready to make that happen, special, and beautiful! We were also handed a preferred vendor packet of all the amazing people that they know can be counted on and do a great job! So, we went with their recommendations for most all of our vendors. We could not have been more pleased with everyone. They all worked well together and were so eager to make our daughter's day so very special. So thank you to Joey, Katie, Macie, and Abbie for the best day ever!! If you are thinking about a venue, hurry and head on over to The Hidden Gem of Gruene! They are ready to make your dream day come true!!

For this trip, we didn't want to go out a lot, so we took our own food. There are multiple grills (gas and wood) on property, and a mini fridge in the room, as well as cold drawers in the cabana! It was a little cool still, so we opted out of swimming, but the pool is very nice and shaded from the harsh summer sun that's just around the corner. If you want to stay connected, there is WiFi throughout and TV's in your room and under the cabana outside. If you go with a group, there is more than enough room inside and out, including seating in the cabana! All of this, and they are pet friendly! Bentley had just as a relaxing weekend as we did, although we suspect he never works that hard at home either. ;-) Totally worth it!

It had 4 main bedrooms to accommodate us and and our three kids and their spouses. Then it provided a giant bedroom that our 10 grandchildren could enjoy and be comfortable! The main house had a large family area and a perfect kitchen! The covered outdoor kitchen was where we spent a lot of our time! The covered pool allowed use all day long!! The kids enjoyed the tubing in the river a lot!! There is a big yard where ballgames, laser tag, flying drones, and water ballon battles occurred daily!! Also the big parking area allowed all 67 of our Saturday guests a place to park safely and conveniently!! Gruene offers lots to do and we had a fun filled, busy week! The owners, Lynnae and Jeff became fast friends and they accommodated our every need! They have the place outfitted perfectly from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the outdoor furniture! We lucked up on getting onto a few rides back to back with little to no waits when we arrived. The torrent River/wave pool in blastenhauf now requires live jackets- if you are 18 or older you can take valid ID to guest services and sign a waiver which excludes you from life jacket requirements! 2 rides I was disappointed in - the dragon revenge- longest line there was- instead of standing at the top of the side where there is water to keep you cool- you stand way at the bottom waiting for a tube (seems they only have about 15 tubes total) ride moves slow and we nearly got stuck! Also HILLSIDE! My favorite ride- they added these jumps for the first 1/2 of the ride where it makes you go super slow- and your butt is dragging over ever hump making it a very uncomfortable ride! The last half of the ride is great and just as I remember- besides not going through the missdle of the locker room anymore. Some of the slides also showed thier age and like they never get thoroughly cleaned when not in season. I love you can take your own cooler for non alcoholic beverages and food so your not eating and drinking fair food and drinks all day while in the sun. Hoping my next visit is just as great as this one!
