I needed a mailbox installed and had tried for 3 months to schedule various handyman recommended by neighbors. I finally took things into my own hands and searched for a reputable and highly rated handyman on Yelp. There were several options to choose from, but I was immediately drawn to Brian's business because it is locally owned and operated by him. Plus, I really liked his bio. I could tell he was someone who enjoyed his work and was focused on high quality outcomes for customer projects. Brian did not disappoint. Every step of the process was a good one. My first point of contact was through Yelp messaging. That's when I first knew I was on the right track because Brian promptly replied. Moreover, his communication skills were excellent from the get-go. He was able to fit me into his schedule a few days after my request. He arrived on time prepared with what he needed to do the job. Everything went smoothly, especially because Brian and I had reviewed the installation instructions through photos I attached to our Yelp messages. He was able to acquire the remaining needed materials that I did not have on hand. Brian clearly knew what he was doing and got the mailbox installed without any problems. He charged a reasonable amount and was a pleasure to work with. I had a great customer experience. I already have other projects lined up for him. Living in a 200-year-old home is going to provide plenty of opportunities to call on Brian's experience and excellent problem-solving skills.

I hired FoxFix to repair some seams in the drywall in our condo. I liked Yevhenii (and his wife)…read morevery much when he came out and I felt like they'd do a great job. Indeed, they worked diligently and cleaned up each time they visited. The first round of work, both of them came; the second and third times, just Onya came to and she was super friendly and worked quietly while I worked in the office. I didn't paint the repairs immediately because of a lack of time, but once I did, I was disappointed with how the work turned out. I contacted Yevhenii again and sent him pictures. Communication was great and he came out to look and offered to either refund the money paid and for someone else to do the work or he (and his wife) would try again. I allowed them to come back and Onya worked for hours to redo most of the work. Again, carefully, quietly, and working with my schedule. Yevhenii came to check on things and also wanted to do some of the painting to see how the repairs looked. One area in one of the bathrooms looks pretty good but the kitchen and the other bathroom looks terrible, as evidenced by the pictures. I recontacted Yevhenii and he offered a $200 refund which I accepted. There was the original price of the job and, in consideration of the friendliness that the couple offered and the six visits they made, I felt was worth a $100 tip. In the end, I had drywall dust to clean up throughout the condo on multiple days and the results look amateurish. I'm still not sure why this is so hard to do and do reasonably well. I'm not looking for taj mahal-lile work but the pictures, I think, speak for themselves. I'm sure Yevhenii does great work, as evidenced by other positive reviews and pictures, but this project was a fail.

We had a half wall added to a loft area at the top of the stairs. Yevhenii did excellent work…read more We even threw him a challenge to create some custom moulding on the cap to match the other two half walls in the same hallway, and you can't tell the difference. Jobs like this are harder than one would think mostly because matching drywall seams is really hard. That's why I didn't do this myself. It takes patience and attention to detail. Where the wall had a straight transition to the existing wall, Yevhenii matched the seam patch perfectly, and you can't tell it wasn't originally part of the house. Yevhenii even showed me what to look for if I found that the drywall patches needed more work (flashlight at an oblique angle). He knew that this kind of thing takes effort, and to get a Level 5 drywall finish is asking A LOT (I didn't expect it either because I knew this too.) I like painting, so I asked Yevhenii to leave that part to me. Often, when you paint, you can see the flaws in a project. Even though the top cap of the wall was two pieces glued up and the wall had to make that existing wall transition, the lines were smooth and clean, and you couldn't tell. His workmanship is measured and precise, he cleans up each day, and he's a nice person to talk to as well. You could do a lot worse than to hire Fox-Fix. Yevhenii is the kind of local guy you want to have in your pocket for whatever you need.

I gave Damon long enough to apologize, he hasn't. My wife…read morehad a 3-4 week affair with Damon after we hired him to do my mother-in-laws floors. He might try to hide and act like it never happened but I hired digital investigations to recover all their deleted texts and other information and I can tell you that it did happen. We lost our oldest son just 3 months before this happened and she was in a terrible place, so I don't blame my wife. And the last week of their affair she lost her step-dad too. What she didn't need was a contractor texting and calling her all the time telling her how pretty her smile was and how he missed seeing her pretty face. She didn't need him telling her they should just hang out and chill. She didn't need him asking her to meet him for a drink sometime. How he wanted to make-out and other stuff. She didn't need him telling her how much he wanted her. She didn't need him actually meeting for a drink. And a few days after her step-dad passed away, she definitely didn't need him meeting her, getting her drunk and getting a motel room staying out all night. It's where he left his sweater. (All this happened over labor day weekend) Which is how I caught them because after 27 years of marriage she has never been anywhere away from me overnight. You played on her emotions and her vulnerability and took advantage of her. Now I'm not sure if he's done this in the past, if you hired him you might want to check your wife's texts; but as a husband I have to warn other possible husbands that this happened to me, so they can make a better decision about who they hire as a contractor. I regret the day I told my wife to give Damon a call to do her mother's floors. He has no morals!

We would go through dozens of towels and often run 5-gallon shopvacs to try to keep streams of water from flowing across the floor and pooling into the finished part of our basement. Finally, I had enough. I called a few basement repair companies to come in, survey the problem, and give us estimates. The Basement Expert, with their simple approach, no-nonsense guarantee, and not trying to oversell us or suggest unnecessary steps, won the job. I couldn't be happier with their work! The job was done by a group of hardworking but affable guys. During the day, the foreman consulted with us and explained things every step of the way. The owner even showed up to check on the work and ask me how things were going. The job was completed and cleaned up in one day without too much disruption to our household. Since then we've had several storms that would've saturated scores of towels and repeatedly filled up the shopvac, including TS Debbie when it inundated our area with over 6 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. My basement now? Not a drop. It's true that one point early on, I saw a patch wetness in the concrete close to the edge of the new drainage line, but not real concerned about it. However, they had told me, "If you see any water at all, call us." So I did. They came right away and in about 2 hours tied that spot into the line, free of charge. The system has worked flawlessly ever since. Now, thanks to The Basement Expert, I can enjoy watching storms from my porch or living room instead of being confined to the basement and the drudgery of struggling against leaks coming in. I highly recommend these guys. Craig H
