The portions are HUGE, and we easily could have shared. The bolognese was decent; you could tell the pasta was fresh, but the sauce was on the acidic side (needed a pinch of sugar to cut it), and there was very little meat to speak of. It seemed far too expensive to be primarily a bowl of noodles and tomato sauce. The chicken piccata was also mediocre-- very salty, and the sauce was lacking in lemon flavor and far too heavy on the butter. Chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes, and this one was trying so hard to be fancy that it missed the mark on executing what is traditionally a simple dish of crispy chicken cutlets in a lemon white wine butter sauce with capers. Could hardly taste the lemon, and I'd be surprised if there was white wine in it. I only ate half because I feared the butter sauce would wreak havoc on my stomach. The dinner was disappointing, so we gave Mambo another chance by ordering a takeout pizza on our last night with an order of tiramisu. The pizza was also mediocre-- it was extremely greasy with a soggy crust. At $36, it was a pricey mistake. The tiramisu was literally a tub of mascarpone cream and cocoa powder-- not a ladyfinger in sight. I assume this was an oversight in the kitchen, but a straight mouthful of mascarpone cream is not appetizing... I called and spoke to the manager, who agreed to refund the dessert, but overall I would not recommend Mambo based on my two separate experiences.

Great environment to have fun! Apart from the security guard (black dude, not Luke), this is a decent spot to enjoy the town's nightlife. Nonetheless, the black security guard had some hater in him. He warned me for something that not only did I not do, but would never do. I asked him for a formal apology (man to man) and he had my check closed and made me leave without my jacket which contains 340 dollars in my pocket, which I doubt I'll see again. And the jacket cost about 200. On a 124 dollar check, we tipped 80 in cash. 60 to one lady bartender and 20 to the male bartender. So after spending a good amount of money there, the black man got jealous and began ranting how we was the owner of security and his power trip took place thereafter. Unfortunately, we were discriminated against for being successful, having fun, or perhaps because some of the employees we brought there were Hispanic. I won't visit this place again, and will have to press this matter legally. I am happily married - extremely happy. Been with my wife since 9th grade; going on 17yrs and running strong. The woman he warned us of flirting with not only gave me her number and text me, but admits in the text we were not offensive nor flirtatious whatsoever!!! I came to have fun, not cheat on my wife. Notwithstanding, if you're in town, check out other venues. If you're white or loght-skinned Hispanic, and don't being mind called a cracker, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, save the 16 dollars per drink you'll spend, and kick rocks down the river and enjoy yourself. This place has some racial issues apparently, and black guy working there feels America owes him something...Dude, Slavery is over. And honestly, Black people were sold by black people in be beginning, so save the "Whitey Speech" and let people enjoy themselves without having power trips. read more
