This cemetery is one of the few in the country with both union and confederate soldiers buried adjacent. I learned that the cemetery is also researching its potters field, which was recently discovered to have over 1,000 unmarked graves. The cemetery staff is researching the names of those buried there, and is planning to install a sign commemorating each one in the records. How cool is that?

Some notables buried here include Great Falls founder, Paris Gibson, Artist Charles M. Russell (and his wife Nancy) and cowboy actor, George Montgomery. The headstones are a nice mix of uprights and flat markers. What's neat is that the uprights are engraved on both sides. There also seems to be a lot of opportunity to personalize grave spaces as there were many decorative items like flags and wind catchers (not always allowed at cemeteries). A nice historic spot to visit in Great Falls.

Funeral for my Dad. Service and all coordination with the regular staff was great. The problem…read morearose when after all was said and done the family received a bill for the sign language interpreter that was required to accommodate a deaf member of the immediate family. The excuse give was because the service was held off site then that facility is responsible for arranging for the interpreter (no one told this information up front). If the funeral home knew in advance that someone else should pay that bill that information should have been provided to the family. It was not. When calling and talking the owner about the issue he became extremely rude. Honestly it is not even about the money - it falls on poor coordination of who should be paying and extremely bad customer service on the part of the owner. The rest of the staff were great.
