He always loved school, but hit a snag…read morein middle school and started to procrastinate and wouldn't complete assignments in a timely manner. He would often refuse to do school work and started falling behind in Math. However, after attending the Tutoring Center, he was able to work his way back up to grade level. He not only worked his way back to grade level, but he actually enjoyed going to the center each day to work on his assignments. I cannot thank the staff at the Tutoring Center enough for the hard work and effort they put into making sure my son was successful in his educational endeavors. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a struggling student or a student in need of enrichment work.

My kids started Mathnasium in elementary school when a center opened up in Coppell. They were there for 2-3 years before I pulled my teens out of Mathnasium and moved them over to c2 education down the street since they were starting SAT test prep. BIG MISTAKE. It only took a few months before my Mathnasium teens began to sense they were losing the momentum they had gained in their math classes at school. They begged me to pull them out of c2 and put them back into Mathnasium. So I moved them back ASAP. Here comes the good part! All 3 kids completed the Mathnasium curriculum before their Junior year and all 3 earned perfect Math scores on the SAT (actually, 1 kid took the ACT). They won numerous math accolades in MS and HS and earned 5s on the AP Calc BC and AP Statistics exams. The Mathnasium At Home option (virtual lessons) worked very well with their busy schedules and the monthly rate was significantly less than what I spent and wasted at c2. HOWEVER, here comes the bad: I removed 1 star above since Mathnasium COULD and SHOULD make their monthly rates more affordable. Their arbitrary notices for price hikes got annoying, especially when nothing else seemed to change. And finally, here's the ugly: If you're considering c2 education for test prep, DON'T. Read the uncompensated 1 star reviews on Trustpilot. And check out c2's rating and consumer complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau (Grade F, Unaccredited). You're much better off sticking with Mathnasium for SAT Math and looking elsewhere for a private tutor for the Reading section. J&J Test Prep with Jackie, Khan Academy, SupertutorTV, Elite Prep Plano's 1500+ Summer Bootcamp, and College Board's Blue Book are solid starting points.

The environment is consistently…read morenoisy, and my daughter has expressed multiple times that it's distracting and makes it hard for her to focus. She's also shared that the work feels too easy and has specifically asked for more challenging material, but her needs still aren't being met. Additionally, the reward system doesn't seem effective. Almost every time I pick her up, she's been given candy--usually Skittles--which suggests the incentives aren't engaging or meaningful for her. I've also observed tutors frequently engaged in casual conversation rather than focused on the students. Overall, this doesn't feel like a constructive environment for learning or developing strong academic habits. We've been very disappointed.

For a testing center, it's well run, organized, and secure…read more Follow the guidance of the staff and you'll have no problems! - no study material allowed in the building at all, so study beforehand - best to wear low maintenance clothes, they make you pay yourself down, roll long sleeves up, unfold cuffs, turn out pockets, to check for cheating material before entering testing room - all your stuff goes in a locker in the waiting room, unless you ONLY bring an ID, you take your ID with you everywhere (if you have an exam with breaks, you need it to get back into the room). - you have your photo taken before your exam for the purposes of identity verification before you enter the testing room, glam up... or not! - read the rules, don't break them or they will be sassy (you'll deserve it), you can get kicked out of the center and exam canceled for breaking them! Inside the testing room: earplugs saved me, but unfortunately if you're sat next to someone coughing incessantly nothing can save you... unless you spend precious minutes of your exam time to make a complaint. And even then they may not be able to fix it because that person is in the middle of their exam, too. You get all the extras your exam allows (whiteboard, calculator, etc). All in all a nice testing experience, only as stressful as the exam itself!

The revisions I got back made some formatting changes that made my resume easier to read, which is important if you want yours to stand out from the rest. There were also suggestions on how to better organize my resume. What I found particularly helpful was that I received revisions from more than one person. It was nice to have a couple sets of eyes on it, especially from someone who was already established in a similar field as me. Many of the comments were on things that I wasn't even aware that I was doing. The comments they gave weren't just directed at how to make my resume easier to read and more organized, but they really focused on what would make ME stronger as a candidate. This meant that I had some areas of my resume that I could expand or improve on that would make me more likely to be picked for a position. Very helpful for taking a honest look at yourself, which I think is the whole basis of a strong resume. I highly recommend Lucent Education, if you want that edge on the competition and want to polish any of those rough edges, they are more than capable of giving you that support!

Robyn was very accommodating…read more She quickly gave us an ACT practice test to see if SAT was the best road for us to be going down (vs ACT). The class itself was organized, professional, and helpful. My son took the SAT and did really well. Once we learned that the high school was going to give another SAT test to all of the juniors, my son was able to sit in on even more classes to help bone-up for the next test. I was really impressed with how accommodating they were...and how invested they are in trying to get the best test score out of your kid.
