Even though it was just the two of us, he treated us like absolute queens! We stepped onto the tiki-themed pontoon party boat, ready for an unforgettable evening--and that's exactly what we got. As we cruised along the serene waters of the Intracoastal Waterway, the sky lit up in a masterpiece of sunset hues, painting the perfect backdrop for our personal dance party. With our favorite playlist flowing through the boat's sound system and nothing but open water and good vibes around us, we danced like no one was watching--and it felt like pure magic. But it didn't stop there! We spotted multiple dolphin pods playfully frolicking in the waves and even caught breathtaking views of the wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming free on the barrier island dunes. It was the kind of natural beauty that makes you pause, breathe deep, and feel completely alive. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, Captain Trent--with his signature easygoing, no-rush attitude--offered to dock in Morehead City so we could grab a bite to eat. He's very laid back, but also safety conscious and made sure all 6 passengers were aware of current Coast Guard requirements and the specifics of his boat. We did a half day rental and let me tell you that time goes by quickly on the water. We texted to let them know we were returning to the dock and again within minutes they were helping us off the boat and allowing us to continue our weekend without the hassle of loading, refilling with gas and wash down. Captain Buz and his deck hand Max did a GREAT job on our charter. My buddy and I chartered the…read moreJawfly for a half day fishing trip with our sons (5 of us in total). Buz was firm with his expectations of the boys (10, 11 & 12) with regard to the safety, gave us a short brief on his boat (fire extinguishers, life jackets, the head, etc.) and we shoved off. I sat up front with Buz on the way out and he was more than happy to answer all my questions, show me the various navigation gauges, and share his knowledge as an ol salty captain. We pulled up to a couple of spots and dropped lines immediately, Max was very good with prepping the rigs and bait. We were on the fish quickly and when the action died down we pulled our lines and moved to the next spot. Very little if any downtime once we started fishing. Max and Buz did a great job of hooking fish when the action started to die down and when the had one on the line they handed the rod off to one of our boys to reel in. Buz clean our catch on our way back and once at the dock we settled up our tab and tipped $120 for the captain and deck hand to split up. Great time, Buz and Max were great with the boys, highly recommend this charter and if we're down again we'll go back out with Captain Buz on the Jawfly!!

The boats are well-maintained. They are used Outer Banks rental boats, so don't anticipate pristine conditions; expect functional and dependable. The reservation process is fast and easy, and the owners (Farris and Chrissy) are friendly and live on the Island which is a plus if you have problems. For experienced boaters, you'll find Farris super easy to work with. If you're inexperienced or have never navigated the Pamlico Sound, I strongly recommend a check ride with Farris. He'll determine how much attention you need. This is a solid outfit, and they are flexible and will go out of their way to meet your needs. Super pleased with my experience!
