Absolutely worthless group of people here. VERY rude, VERY impatient, and unwilling to even listen to the client they're supposedly representing. Conversations with them typically involves Shuck Law raising their voice to be heard OVER the client instead of letting the client be heard in times of need, belittling the client on all levels, and they end up creating more conflict than originally presented to them in the first place. I've never gone out of my way to post a review for legal services - much on two platforms. But here we are. There is nice or pleasant, and then there is kind. Elizabeth (intake personnel) and Leslie Baze (partner / attorney) were both. In scheduling for a consult, Elizabeth worked with Leslie, who accommodated me into her schedule sooner rather than later when it seemed like first available would've been the following week. The intake was painless but thorough, and Leslie didn't make me repeat myself twice or retell the story to her; which I seriously appreciated and is something I haven't experienced at with other firms. Leslie efficiently and thoroughly reviewed the details of my case, asked great clarifying questions, and took the time to explore all avenues of solution. She's clearly incredibly intelligent, remembering and doing quick math based on numbers mentioned once, and informing me how to proceed forward with or without her involvement. There's a "bedside manner" for attorneys that lends someone dignity when they are feeling vulnerable without coddling or making false promises, and this firm has it in spades. 10/10 would work with them again. read more

I worked as an analyst for a call center for what amounted to roughly 2.5 weeks. After the 2.5 week training session concluded, I elected to seek other opportunities and left my employer on good terms. I had filled out my timesheet each week. My employment was as a contractor, separate from the company I was working for actually. After 2+ weeks of not being paid at all (over a month delay total), I reached out to Schuck Law after searching the internet for a solution. According to Karen, who cited Oregon State Law, I should have been expecting my final paycheck to be deposited/delivered to me within 24 hours of my ending employment. After talking to Karen, I made the formal decision to hire Schuck Law, and specifically have Karen represent my case Karen and her staff worked with me diligently, patiently, and eventually was able to resolve my situation in my favor. It took a goodly bit, over 3 months to resolve, but I thanks to the clear expectations set forth to me by Karen, I expected this. In the end my pay was addressed, albeit 4+ months late. I was most impressed with was their candor about how to handle this, what to expect, and how things would eventually play out. Karen made it clear that this whole endeavor was a process, and that the process needed to play out accordingly. My former contracting agency at first balked regarding any penalty wages, let alone paying me what I had worked (and forget the legal fees for Schuck Law LLC), but when all was finished, both Shuck Law and myself were paid as expected, including penalty wages. In over 25 years of working I have never had a situation like this, but I am grateful that my first time allowed me to find a great solution to addressing my needs. I consider myself quite fortunate to have found an honest, diligent, and reputable law firm to represent my needs. I have had little reason to involve an attorney in my life, but the one time I did, I found someone I would easily recommend to others. Karen and her staff was excellent, and treated my situation with respect and understanding. I am sure there are attorney's out there that are worse, but I seriously doubt there are others that are better. If you have a wage claim issue, and you feel your employer or former employer has violated state or federal laws in Oregon (or Washington), please do not hesitate to call them. Yikes! I just got off the phone with Gideon, and he was very curt and rude. Don't waste your time with someone who is not respectful or compassionate. I was transferred over to him, looking for helpful suggestions with a sexual harassment problem I'm experiencing. Before I could even tell him my situation he cuts me off and asks where I work, and who my boss is... I tell him the place of employment and ask why he would be needing more information. He tells me that he wants to make sure that he isn't affiliated with the company. As the administrative assistant, I assured him that he was not... I continued on saying "I know that you're trying to get straight to the point, but I was cut off mid-sentence and I was looking for someone to hear me. (Which is a big deal for someone who is nervous about speaking up in the first place.) He told me that I should look somewhere else. I agreed and that was it. Reached out to this law firm for assistance on a case and was looking to hire an attorney. The initial person who answered the phone and did the initial I intake was so friendly! Told me i was going to get a call back. I received a call back Spoke for 2 hours with a woman I believe maybe it was Stephanie. She was not very friendly and a little rude. I felt as if I was on the stand. She cut me quite often when I was sharing my story. She was condescending and spoke in an aggressive and stern tone. I don't know much about law which is why I reached out for help. The case is complex. She approached it with a very bias approach when I started talking about my culture. Seemed as if she did not have much experience with minorities. I was so shocked at how our conversation went it felt like she was an enemy. It was the oddest conversation. I was under the assumption that I was looking for an attorney to hire. But after the two hours of rapid fire questions and weird side comments to correct me, she than shared that she has a large case load and repeated several times that I needed someone that could devote a "substantial" amount of time and that she couldn't so she recommended to reach out to the county bar. Waste of time. The head of the firm which I believe is a gentleman named David states on the firms website: "I do not get intimidated and will continue to fight for the rights of individuals". Wish I spoke to this gentleman instead of this lady. I was so impressed with how much it felt like this individual cared about his job....that's why I actually called them. At the end of the day, my impression was the lawyer I spoke to was combative, potentially afraid of a challenge, did not have a diverse culture understanding or experience particularly with minorities, was either lazy, overworked, burnt out?, maybe had a bad day, and or did not care for the job anymore.....to make money, uphold the law, and help people. I mean I didn't even get offered a different lawyer at the firm and or a price to pay, she literally recommended me to call the county bar? Maybe she thought I couldn't afford it, we will never know. I'm disappointed but maybe this good. Hopefully someone finds this review helpful and or the people who oversee this firm can help this individual represent this business better for future business.
