My wife and I knew we wanted to incorporate into our wedding our Jewish, Israeli, and Sephardic roots, while still creating a joyful, dance-filled, and modern day. While we loved the idea of having a klezmer band perform, we were nervous some of our non-Jewish guests wouldn't get into it. The band did an incredible job of weaving between traditional and modern, creating a music environment that any guest could enjoy and sing and dance along to. It was also so unique to have a band that wasn't attached to a stage and who followed and lead us along throughout the different stages of the Jewish wedding process (Kabbalat Panim to ceremony to Yichud to the Hora to the Reception). Some of our favorites: their emphasis on Turkish music, Od Lo Ahavti Dai (an Israeli folk song), and their spin on Take on Me, klezmer style. We 100% recommend Saul Goodman's Klezmer Band. They were a joy to work with and helped make our wedding an unforgettable event for us and all our guests!

Chris is *awesome.* We seriously can't recommend him enough!…read more A bit of explanation: We added a videographer super last minute because my grandparents unexpectedly couldn't make it to our wedding, and I am SO grateful we found Spleeny Films. He was incredibly responsive over email and phone calls, always getting back to us right away and answering all our questions thoroughly. He really listened to us and made sure to capture all the footage we wanted. As stressful as a last-minute hire can be, I always felt like we were in good hands with Chris, and for that I am forever grateful. On the day-of, where we met for the first time (!), I knew we made the right decision: he was polite, friendly, and funny. He had some great ideas about how to capture everything, and worked wonderfully with our photographers. Best of all, we hardly noticed his presence (super ideal, since you don't want a video camera to be in the way all the time) -- and yet when we watched the video after the wedding, we were amazed at how much footage he caught that we didn't even realize he was around for! He had remarkably fast turn-around time so we could show my grandparents, and even went above and beyond to make us a beautiful short film in addition to our long full-coverage video. Everything is so wonderfully shot, with such great lighting; it just shows how great of an eye he has for capturing the right images and all the different emotions everyone has. We were especially impressed with his editing skills and how he was able to splice the footage together in such a way that it really told a story. I can't believe our luck at finding Spleeny Films, and will recommend him to any friends and family getting married in the area in the future. He's just what you want on your wedding day: a true artist who also happens to be an awesome person that you'd like to be friends with. Words can not explain how happy my wife and I are with the product that Chris has delivered to us. Not only was the end result even better than we could have ever imagined, but the way he worked around our requests during our special day was phenomenal. Chris is a professional in every aspect...He arrived early, had plenty of cameras, extra batteries, worked around our schedules during and after our wedding to deliver the end result, and he even had a backup pair of shoes with him when one of his broke! The photographer we hired (not connected to/or recommended to us by Chris) was a different story. She made everything go her way and made it tough for Chris to get certain shots that he wanted, but you would never know by the end results. Our photographs look alright, while our video was breath taking. I can recall seeing our photographer quite often throughout the night, but only once spotted Chris. He is very ninja like. If we had to go back and do it all over, we would have just stuck with Chris, or used a photographer that he recommends. Thank you again for all of your help and sorry that this review took so long! She is an expert at capturing natural expressions, composing the scene, and spotting the details. Her genuine enthusiasm put us at ease. In our engagement photos, she caught the excitement and anticipation that no amount of make-up or re-touching will produce. At the same time, she highlighted the beautiful scenery, architecture and color of the settings. On the wedding day, she was adept at working amongst our numerous relatives, most of whom were eager to snap photos at the same time. She manages to be professional and assertive, yet gracious and warm at the same time. Many of our family and friends remarked that they were impressed by her manner. At the reception, it didn't seem like she was just doing her job (though she did it very well). She really seemed to enjoy documenting the party and that helped us to forget about the camera and just enjoy the party too. There are so many images that bring back the memories of that day. She is skilled in helping students thru the typical fear and nervousness that some experience with dancing. I recommend the 7 session beginner swing series if she is offering it. It will take you from being a complete beginning to being ready for social dancing. My daughter and I have been taking classes from her and plan to stick with it! It's been great 1 on 1 time with her. In addition, the swing dance community and her other students are a fun, great group and are completely welcoming.

I spontaneously dropped in again last weekend on whim...the theater is still old and run down, old furniture, peeling paint, worn and creaky wooden floorbut felt like home. Some loudass punk rock bands were playing, old furniture, peeling paint, worn creaky wooden floors...and an audience that was mix of teenagers and old, ugly, aging, Gen Xers such as myself, and inbetween. $13 for 3 bands...that's a deal. I just wish they sold alcohol.

It seems to serve some kind of purpose for goth and punk teenagers and their beloved skateboards which is sweet and added a star to this review, but I think that they too deserve a better cleaning crew. No alcohol, but you can buy a bag of chips or a Snickers bar from the dude at the front.
