Cheeseburger with fries
Aiten H.

I like to visit every few weeks, but I had never dined in on a Sunday before. We had a 12pm patio reservation on Mother's Day, and they were definitely busy. Since it was noon, I expected the regular lunch menu, but brunch was still being served and some lunch items weren't available until 2:30pm. My son really wanted the mac and cheese, but ended up ordering scrambled eggs with bacon, fries, and toast instead. The toast came quite a bit after the eggs and only after we followed up with our server. I ordered my usual Manny's Taco Salad, but forgot to ask for the dressing on the side, so it ended up heavily dressed and a little soggy. The eggs Benedict, though, was very good. Even with this experience, I won't let it stop me from returning. Finnegan's gets it right more often than not.

Hubbys new love Great food but with company sit outside or in the back Gets loud and crowded by bar inside Heaters outside for you Server knowledgeable and helped with the gluten free options which are not printed in menu Prices are not crazy high Parking a challenge as anything downtown Booths are not as soft as they look and my heels/feet could not touch the bottom so my back was not happy So if you have short legs sit at the table with chairs

Came here for happy hour bar dinner appetizer specials. As soon as I sat down the bartender was amazing and attentive. He was friendly smiling and my food was with me within 10 minutes. Atmosphere was great it was nice and warm in the cold weather and I will definitely be coming back here. For three appetizer plates it was $34. What a great deal right! I would come back here for sure!

A True Pub Vibe -- Feels Like Home Finnegan's in Novato has that classic pub feel that lowkey brings me back to New York -- I don't even know why exactly, but something about the vibe, the layout, the energy just hits like home. It's cozy, welcoming, and always has a solid crowd. Whether you're just stopping by for a drink or sitting down for a full meal, you're gonna feel good here. It's definitely one of my go-to local spots. Now let me tell you about Andy behind the bar -- this man is a LEGEND. One of the best bartenders I've ever come across. Friendly, fast, always locked in with great service, and just an all-around solid dude. He always brings great energy and makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. All the bartenders do. Drinks are always cold and well made, food hits the spot, and you get that real pub-style experience you don't always find out here in the Bay. If you're in Novato and want somewhere with good vibes, great people, and that real-deal pub atmosphere -- Finnegan's is it.

I absolutely adore their jalapeno cheesey potato tots, however their to go and delivery disputes are disappointing when it comes to customer service. We used to order specifically for the tots, get the order sans tots, only to be told over phone that the delivery truck hadn't delivered them or were out of stock. I didn't care that they are a frozen appetizer, what I care about is telling me you're out when I place my order and not after. The ambiance is good though and if you want to sit and have a beer this a pretty good choice.

Irish Nachos

We went to Finnegans this afternoon around 1pm and were seated right away, no wait at all (although there were only 2 of us). We ordered the Irish nachos which were great (see pic). They have large portions, so every thing we ordered was easily shared. We had a nice time.

The "Goff" Burger

The ambience is very fun, and the staff is very friendly. I have not been wowed by the food yet. Plenty of games to watch and beers to drink. The big draw is that Kids eat free on Sundays. I had the Goff burger, which sounded great from the menu description. I asked for my burger to be medium, and it was super tough and dry. The kids' got burgers, and theirs looked like the patties were on their second of third life. They were gray and tough and dry and hard to chew. We enjoyed our fries, though. My husband thought his shepherds pie was meh. I've also had the salmon risotto, and it came out very oily. The salmon also smelled a little fishy. Parking can be tricky downtown, but you can generally find walkable street parking. Lots of fun shops nearby. Finnegan's also has live music sometimes. Come for the vibe, but maybe eat somewhere else.

Bread Pudding, comes with vanilla ice cream
Lynn S.

The restaurant is lined with booths, which makes for a fun and intimate atmosphere. It can get busy on the weekends for lunch, it might help you make a reservation. The service is very friendly and helpful. The big blue burger was a 5/5, really great! The chicken sandwich was good and the bread pudding was delicious. Would recommend if you're looking for cozy comfort pub food.

Amazing eggs Benedict! English muffins were not soggy and the Hollandaise is slightly tangy with a light spice. Perfect!

Theres hiking trails or places where we go to get to the Ocean. In order to go to them, we have to drive through Novato to get there. But whenever we are out in Marin, we usually just defeat to eating a Sol Food(If you know you know...). Recently we wanted to try something different. Ayawaska is about the experience. A very bold name but from the moment you walk in, to the moment you start eating your food you will quickly understand why they chose that name. All the workers are professional but also very friendly. Their cocktails are all delicious. Theres something about taking a sip and peering out the windows and seeing the view. For a minute it really feels like we are in another world. They really chose such a cool location for a restaurant. For food, I saw the Paella adjacent dish on the menu and I immediately knew what I was ordering. Arroz con Mariscos. We did order some Empanadas. I hate mushrooms but I had a bite of the Empanada Veggie. It's all mushrooms dude...alllll mushrooms...but it was good. My favorite was the Empanada de Lomo. But both Empanadas were delicious. They had a nice flaky crust but had really generous fillings. The flavors were so dang good. But with the Arroz con Mariscos I loved all the fixings it came with and how it was decorated. All kinds of onions and bell peppers everywhere. The rice itself wasn't overcooked or undercooked. And most of all there were giant shrimps along with calamari and clams. Altogether this was a symphony of Seafood and rice. This probably could be shared between two people. Unless you are just really hungry. So long story short, I highly recommend this place. Sometimes you go to fancy places like this and they got the nice decor. Sure. They got a nice view. Cool. But at the end of the day, the meal and the overall experience is what matters right? Ayawaska is the full package. If you live in the area and haven't tried this place yet, you are definitely missing out.

Two companions ordered and raved about their burger. Everyone loved the crispy-on-the-outside and tender-on-the-inside fries. They were gracious to create a special order for me: 2 eggs scrambled with spinach, diced tomatoes, and chorizo; iceberg lettuce, plantains, and homemade hollandaise. Since l adore extremely lemony hollandaise, I asked for lemon wedges; they brought 3 and I could have used even more. (I really like it lemony!) Our server was fun, sweet, competent, and friendly. There are so many wonderful options on the menu--breakfast all day including omelets, waffles, and pancakes. Thursdays are for special pricing for pupusas I can't wait to try. The ambience is adorable. It's a Western theme. Our server wore a fringe vest. There are adorable stools (see photo!) that are actually as comfortable as they are cute. There are two big screen TVs that had lovely spring scenes that made me pause, smile, and soak it in. There's a rack of Western hats--perhaps for little buckaroos to wear when seated on the horse getting their photo taken. There's a huge white throne bench for photos, too. Super fun. I'll be back!

The salad with the sandwich was uninspired plain iceberg lettuce. The elote was mild, not bad and came with (yummy) cotija and mayo. This was a nice way to spend a few hours. The space is neat. It's as small, somewhat dark ambiance with the windows blacked out. So, you do loose your sense of time a bit inside. That's actually nice as it feels like you went somewhere/somewhen else for a while. We had a Manhattan and a Kentucky Mule, and, additionally, we had three different shareable appetizers. First thought, we ordered and devoured a really exceptional cheese plate. I know cheese plates seem a little meh sometimes, but this was really good! I would absolutely order it again. In fact, I would definitely go there just to have the cheese plate again with a drink, a glass of wine. We also had the three tacos shareable. There were three tacos that were stunningly good. Lastly a dish with some little steak medallions and a shrimp. Each of these was about two bites and the flavor and texture was excellent. All three of the shareables and the drinks were exceptional. I have to call out that, with the cheese board, came a little loaf of bread. That bread was really good all on its own. I would definitely want to eat it. I can still taste it. It was really good, but my wife, she's gluten intolerant. They offered, because she couldn't eat the bread, they offered to also bring her out some gluten-free crackers, so she got to enjoy the cheese board just the same without the bread. They gave her the crackers, and do you know, they just gave her those extra. They didn't ask for something more. They didn't do anything. They just took care of her. I really appreciate that. I have to also give a shout out to the Jessica. I don't know how she did it, but she was taking care of the whole room of tables I think. Nice. We ordred all three shareables at the same time and she thoughtfully said, 'do you mind if I course these out for you?' We said yes and she did. I don't think anybody felt like they didn't have everything they needed, so a shout out to you, Jessica, really well done. We're grateful for the service and the high quality dining experience that you gave us on a moment's notice. I hope we can visit again soon. And, especially we want to check out The Boardroom soon. NOTE: This is in a kind of older looking strip mall. Don't be concerned about that at all! It threw us off a little at first and we did wonder when we pulled in though if we were in the right place. Happily, we were!
