My…read moreexperience began with Nussbaum handling an estate sale for my family in 2010, which went well and was managed professionally. I have no idea if we got top dollar for our inventory, but the firm did a good job of setting up our merchandise, accounting for what was sold, paying us, and carting up what wasn't sold. If my interaction with Nussbaum had ended here, I'd give them a five star rating. Sadly, it did not. Everything about the relationship went down hill relatively soon after the conclusion of the estate sale. Nussbaum kept about $6-8K worth of inventory that did not sell. I live quite a distance from Louisville, and I expected that I would get an accounting on at least an annual basis and preferably a semi-annual basis. I did not. I would call periodically to check in on the status of my account. My calls were virtually never returned. I would email to three different addresses for information. My emails were not returned. The only way I could be in touch with the owner of the shop, Scott Nussbaum, was to call his numbers repeatedly and hope to be lucky enough to catch him on the rare occasion that he'd pick up. One of the reasons I called him was that he and his partner had mentioned several times that the most expensive item in the remaining inventory was close to selling. They would give me a date when the supposed customer was going to pick the merchandise up and I would get a substantial check. The date would come and go and I would have to go into a cycle of calling repeatedly to find out what happened. Earlier in 2014, an attorney friend wrote Nussbaum a letter telling him that I was contemplating legal action unless I got a full accounting. Nussbaum called to inform me that the item referred to above had sold and that I could expect a check soon. Six weeks went by and there was no check. At that point I hired an attorney who had to take the antique store to the point of drawing up the papers for a law suit for me to get paid approximately 33-50% of the value of the goods I had left in Louisville. Of course, the attorney's fees constituted a significant portion of the small amount of proceeds I received from Nussbaum. So, there's my version of an unpleasant story. Draw your own conclusions.

After the first 2 weeks, they said the UPS label had come off, that they had retrieved it and it was to be sent right out. Now another 2 weeks has past and I don't care what their story is anymore. They never shared tracking information for either of the 2 supposed shipments, despite my direct and repeat requests. Why not share the tracking number?

As soon as you walk in, it smells amazing. It's nice and bright, all the while maintaining the atmosphere you'd expect of stores alike. There are pieces of sheet music spread throughout the store as decorative pieces, which I love. There is sheet music that can be purchased as well, but I couldn't find anything for the cello, which is fine. Things are perfectly decorated, not too cluttered and not barren. My favorite part was all the books. I probably would have walked out with 10 books if I hadn't already had so many to read at home. The selection of old books was pleasing; dictionaries, story books, and text books amongst the ones I had had looked at. It took my S/O forever to drag me out of the store due to all the books I thought of buying whilst there. I purchased a small book and a large satchel of lavender. I thought it was great how they have bags of lavender that can be purchased, it's something you'd never expect and it smells divine. This was my first visit, but I'll be back again. I absolutely adore this store and all the treasures it holds. It's nice being able to go somewhere to see and purchase antique and vintage items and gifts, not every antique store out there is this nice!

I was asking about value and assessment on a number of jewelry pieces for my family heirs and insurance purposes, cost of valuation, and getting 3 assessments. When Laura pulled my necklace out of the jewelry box, she broke the chain. She handed my now broken necklace back to me, saying it broke when she was taking it out. Laura then left me and went to the new customer and got out her assessed platinum bracelet. Laura looked at me and loudly and rudely said we are not buying anything, at least twice. She said I should sit and wait. Laura did not offer to fix my now broken 25 yr+ Designer Arabic gold necklace. I felt as if I were being snubbed. Customer service is poor in this little shop.

I was inspired by the creativity used to repurpose items as shelves for high storage. Doubles the item storage. I wouldn't classify this spot as antiques. Not that older items aren't available, but it's less furniture and more of a decorative mix of home accessories and knick-knacks. There's so much to look at, items were in great shape and reasonably priced. Upstairs and downstairs with hand sanitizer stations. Something for any room in your house. Walk slow, look at every shelf twice and find something fun! We'll be back.
