I have also had my dogs teeth cleaned here and he did not charge an arm and a leg like other vets do to clean my dogs teeth. I was very pleased. Will continue to use this vet because he has a no nonsense attitude, doesn't tack on a lot of extra frills that are not needed, but does inform you of what is necessary to keep your dog or cat safe and happy.

I thought she would bleed-out. Blood was everywhere. I used my tube socks as bandages & tourniquets. I could not sleep. I was in a desperate panic and kept checking to see she was still alive. Lydia is a sweetheart dog. She sleeps on her back. When she wants something she just gets in front of me and stares. Then it is up to me to go through a list of things she might want starting with "do you want to go outside?". As soon as I find the right answer she lets me know by giving me a kiss. All dogs and cats have their own unique personalities. The staff at GROVE SMALL ANIMAL HOSPITAL are unique also. I'm about to get to know the other DR that's at this clinic and I have high hopes for the same quality care that McCarver provided as I've heard great things about him as well!! However there is one office staff in particular that I find to be quite rude Everytime I'm in that clinic. Not just to me but everyone who walks into that office. I don't make that statement lightly. I've heard things from others of similar behaviors and I seen it myself when a gentleman was asked for "name" and he gave her the pets name and her response was curt and dripping with irritation. She doesn't greet people kindly and if she asks you for "Name" u better give her your name or she'll make u feel stupid for giving her the pets name that the visit is for. I was less than pleased that I tried to get Dr. McCarver a message about my dog that he personally asked me to do before he had to leave the clinic. I called twice that day and got zero responses and I'll assume it's because that lady failed to give him the message and he was really busy with a procedure on another pet. I had never been to a clinic so amazing till I found this one, so I'm really hoping that my 2 pets can get good quality care even if the front desk lady is less than kind.

I have never had my animals receive care from more competent, caring professionals. I recently lost my beloved German shepherd very suddenly. I received email condolences and assurances that I had done all that I could for him from Stephanie, Dr. Andy's wife. Today I received a card of condolences in the mail signed by Dr. and staff. I have experienced the heart-wrenching loss of dogs over the decades, but I have never received the kind consideration from a veterinarian clinic that I have received from South Grand Lake Veterinary Clinic.
