I miss a lot about Frankfurt. We had lots of German friends that helped us experience locations we would have never visited without them. Sadly 2 of our closest German friends (Heinz and Horst their first names) passed recently. If you travel to Frankfurt please visit Rebstockbad and any Volksmarches because then you will see how wonderful Germany is...the people and the food!!

Ridiculously expensive indoor swimming pool/wave pool. You know, we had wave pools in the States…read moreback in the 70's. It's not as if it's THAT big an atttraction. Anyway, they have a regular pool, a wave pool with beach-style shallow end, various saunas, and two, relatively decent slides. It's a decent sort of place but I just find the prices hard to justify and I give them poor marks for the extraordinary rudeness of employees. If I'm going to have an 18 year old school dropout run their mouth to me, I'm certainly not going to pay 50 Euros for the experience. I've since found much cheaper indoor pools for the kids and they don't really miss the waves.

I usually come here on Mondays when I'm in town for Ladies only Sauna. Before the Sauna I swim a…read morelittle bit in the pool which is part indoor and part outdoor. They have a big poster that explains the thermal baths historically. Very interesting and worth reading. The Sauna area is very big and provides different types of sauna like the Finnish sauna, steam bath, water pond, ice to cool off after the sauna, and a restaurant area with plenty of seating. I particularly love the scheduled Aufguss Sauna Sessions. They let ice balls infused with essential oils melt over the sauna heating system. It can get very hot but it is very relaxing. The restaurant has basic food that is just okay. It offers plenty of coffee beverages, alcoholic drinks, and refreshing alcohol free drinks. Be aware that according to German manner you have to or can occupy the lounge chairs with your stuff to keep them reserved for you.
