Their SCI rep required us to sign a contingency contract giving them 10% of our entire insurance claim BEFORE revealing any of their prices or even inspecting our roof if we decided to use another company. This company upcharged us for every item on their quote for a roof/gutter and downspout replacement. Get 3 quotes from other companies before even considering using this company. Every year I receive at least a dozen or so requests to give me a free estimate for a roof that all roofing companies claim that I should be eligible for since weather radar static say that I've had damaged to my roof! SCI came from a facebook ad that stated that they were pressure and hassile free. For starters SCI appeared to be a good company. The initial sales rep(Pete) was very thorough and made the process seem easy! After several attempts after getting denied, i finally received an approval from my insurance company . To my surprise my rep and the company parted ways because of owner mismanagement and poor people skills with his employees and my salesman was not on good terms with the owner Matt. Immediately after my sales rep left SCI, he contacted me and asked if I would continue to stay with him. He assured me that the quality of work would not fall off and that he would honor all discounts that were offered initially. Oddly enough, the SCI owner(Matt) started calling me and harassing me with threatening emails and text messages. The SCI owner also had violated a confidential agreement by disclosing and discussing my personal business with my neighbor who I have been having issues with since he moved in a few years ago. The bottom line is that SCI is an unethical company that can't be trusted, they will say and do whatever it takes to get your business and then harass and try bullying you into doing business. Adding that SCI discussing your personal business with neighbors I can't recommend or suggest anyone doing business with SCI. Lastly I would encourage you to read SCI roofing reviews! If you have 1 or 2 out of 10 people, however SCI has allot of people telling it like it is.... Had I read there reviews, I definitely wouldn't have let them near my house..... One star for finally getting the deck done. They sent a new crew to build a deck, which should have taken a week or so. Three months later, it wasn't finished, and I had a hard time getting people to show up. (SCI didn't even know they weren't showing up & kept bugging me for payment.) Paid for them $300 to pull a permit at the beginning, mostly for resale but also as a quality control step. When they said they were finished, they hadn't pulled the permit and hadn't intended to do so. ("We don't do that, ma'am." Well, you charged me for it. "It's too late now that the job is finished." Yes, Forsyth County does allow you to pull a permit after the job has started, it just costs more. "Well, i can't keep track of what every county does." Then why did you promise a permitted job and charge me for it?!) At some point, I called the Trust Dale people. I didn't realize you had to register a job with them and prove it was over a certain dollar amount. I thought I was out of luck, but that lit a fire at SCI and I got a call from Adam admonishing me for contacting Trust Dale, and why hadn't I contacted SCI first. I HAD been contacting them but hadn't gotten results and had contacted Ask Dale as a last resort. This got Adam out to the house to see how bad the situation was. They sent out a guy to fix what the other crew took months to do, because it looked terrible. They kept asking me to make the last payment, but I wouldn't until I had the county out to inspect it. (As is always the case, dont pay the last part till its 100% done...They wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't witheld payment.) Of course, the county found issues, and SCI had to jackhammer the concrete around the posts to pour deeper footings, and they were required to install some storm clips. Thank goodness i insisted on the permit! The whole thing was an awful nightmare. And I forgot to mention that they broke a window during demo and took *weeks* to have the glass replaced, and didn't do a good job sealing the bare window opening against weather, either. A debacle from start to finish. Would NOT recommend. read more

Don't use these guys and definitely do not allow them to communicate directly with your insurance if you do. Quoted me $32K for my roof. Did the job and them went back and filed for another $13K in supplemental work that they never performed. There are better options out there. Don't be scammed. read more

SCI Roofing knocked on our door, and my wife agreed to a "free roof inspection." The salesman proceeded to bend/rip/tear 50+ shingles during their "inspection". The salesman, Josh Fisher, then told my wife to file a claim for wind damage. When I came home and she reported this to me, my stomach sank. I take good care of our roof, have repaired it several times, and we did not have any wind damage prior to their "inspection". Fortunately, I happened to have a drone picture of our roof taken right before the inspection showing this to be the case. I called the company and asked to speak with the owner. Instead, the COO, Adam Sharpe, was sent to my home to inspect the roof himself. After his inspection and some excuses, I showed Adam the drone pictures I had of my home prior to their inspection. Adam admitted that "Josh did some stupid things up there" and that he would "see what he could do." Adam texted me the next day asking me to reach out to the owner directly, Matt Holmes. After several calls and texts, I finally connected with Matt Holmes. Matt Holmes claimed that "Adam is not experienced enough to make the decisions he did" and that "he absolutely was not going to pay for a new roof." I told Matt that he could come inspect the damage himself if he felt Adam was mistaken. He agreed, but then started avoiding calls and texts and being non-committal to coming out. Once we connected again on the phone, Matt Holmes told me that "I was one of those homeowners trying to get a new roof for free" and accused me of being "aggressive toward his company, and since he has a worse temper than Adam's, things wouldn't end up the same way as they did when Adam left if I have to come out there." He then said there was "nothing he could do for me" and hoped I would sue him because "he would get the biggest and best lawyer in town and countersue me and win." I then sent my evidence to TrustDale and ran them through the situation. TrustDale said the roofing division of SCI is NOT certified with them, and the TrustDale logos and promises they were making were NOT allowed. TrustDale is evaluating whether SCI can remain a partner at all. I filed a police report with Roswell, and the information was submitted to the city and building inspector. They will not be able to pull permits in this area any further. The drone pictures and evidence were provided to the insurance commissioner of Georgia, and to my insurance carrier. The insurance adjuster during my inspection for my personal insurance claim said that SCI is already on a blacklist, and cannot do work for their carrier. If you even think about using SCI, know that they are doing illegal things to homeowner's homes. They are on the blacklist of insurance agencies. If they rip up your shingles, your claim won't be processed on wind, and you'll have to file one for vandalism as well. Also know if you have a problem, this company will put you through the ringer unless you have indisputable evidence to keep them on the hook. Even then, if you get to the owner, he'll accuse you of being combative and threaten to sue you. There are a lot of small businesses out there trying to make a living and do the right thing. SCI Roofing/Matt Holmes is not one of them. There are plenty of roofers, and you could probably go to the Fulton County jailhouse and find a more trustworthy group of people to deal with. read more

I called SCI for someone to come out for a quote. I had to book it several weeks out. I texted the rep the day of the appointment to confirm. I was on a call when he supposedly arrived but missed that he tried to get in touch. I called the rep after I was done and apologized. He was frustrated with me and already headed back. He also claimed that he had knocked on the door, and no one came out. This claim was rather odd since we have a Ring doorbell, and no one was outside at that time. I chose SCI based on Trust Dale's recommendation. I also hoped to receive a comprehensive quote compared to an individual contractor. We cross SCI off the list based on this initial interaction. The rep could've also texted me or tried called a few minutes later instead of giving up. SCI roofing is the best when it comes to roof inspection and replacement. I had very good experience working with them. They handled everything from inspection, insurance claim and replacement. They provided every little detail of what is being done at every step of the process. As homeowner, I felt confident and comfortable on their ability to carry out such an important change/repair to my house. Team that came in for replacement were very professional. They maintained the surroundings safe and properly moved or covered the assets that could be damaged. They cleaned the area and restored everything before leaving premises. My experience with SCI was nowhere near what I was expecting. I really should have chosen not to go with them when my project manager joked to me about why contractors are called "con"tractors. From the beginning it took weeks to get the final approved quote because my pm was unresponsive due to how busy he was. Once I finally approved it, I was told work would start the Monday after thanksgiving. Work did not start until December 9. I was told the work would take 4-6 weeks only if we had to wait on permits and inspections. Work took a full 9 weeks and I had the permit before work was started and the inspectors always came the next day. At every step in our process, mistakes were made. For example, doorways placed incorrectly in the framing, plumbing in wrong locations, electrical wiring done incorrectly and fixture locations wrong/missing, and this is just in the rough in process (which took a FULL 4 weeks). Less than 3 weeks into work I requested a new PM because mine was dropping the ball on everything and the mistakes were putting us behind schedule. I was told this wasn't possible so we kept on. We opted to purchase several things on our own because we could not depend on our PM to get everything in a timely manner. Fast forward 3 more weeks and work still isn't completed. There have been countless more mistakes and we have at this point had several conversations with upper management and the owner about our problems. They promise to resolve things and get our project back on track. They did keep tabs on my project and have regular conversations with me and visits to check in. I greatly appreciated this from them! Back to the errors: Our PM opted to do the floors himself to save money which only causes more problems. Instead of telling us the color swatches he gave us to pick from were for exterior concrete and allow us the opportunity to pick a new color, he decided to pick a color he had used in the past and liked himself. The floors came out orange at first and we requested another coat to make it darker. It's not the color we wanted at all, but we accepted it to get our basement back. (Also, during this process, he got stain over every wall and baseboard which resulted in everything needing to get painted again) Every subcontractor that came into our home somehow managed to cause more damage than they were there to fix. The second to last workers that were there to finish touch ups ended up damaging my brand new hvac mini splits that were just installed a few days prior. SCI did opt to  replace the units. At the end of week 9, work has finally been completed. There are still some things that weren't done (hanging of shelves originally promised, reinstallation of the blinds they took down, writing on our exposed cement walls from plumbers, electricians, and framers) but my husband was so sick of having people in our house for 9 straight weeks that we have chosen to correct them ourselves. All of the problems in our home could have been avoided if proper planning and communication was done by our PM to the subcontractors he hired. The teams were not provided with a proper floor plan to help them know what to do. I had hoped to have a better experience than what I did as I have several projects that I would like completed in my home. Next time I will be going with another company. I will end by saying the final result turned out well and is pretty much what we were expecting, but the journey to this point was a nightmare. read more

I had a horrible experience with a kitchen refresh (countertop, faucet, sink, and tile replacement) and deck repair. I wasn't going to write a review but here I am. The work ended 9 months ago and I just learned that they did not put the vent back on the drain under the sink. I could go on and on about the communication and workmanship issues but bottom line is that is you hire then be prepared to act as a contractor. The representative who comes out will probably be great but in my experience the people who perform the actual work are not skilled laborers, which causes them to take shortcuts. And many don't speak English. I'm not bilingual myself so there was definitely a communication barrier while they were on site. I'm also not a construction or plumbing expert, hence my reason for contracting with a company that I thought was. I finally contacted Trust Dale to get it over with and wish I had contacted them sooner. And now I'm paying for someone. To fix the plumbing error. Now I understand why people hate renovations. Just wanted to give advice to go in with your eyes open, ask questions, get it in writing, and if you are not knowledgeable yourself you may want to look around read more
