When I walked into the burrow, I was surprised by its size. It was smaller than I was expecting, but I didn't feel cramped. There was a back room where I heard some fellow card game enthusiasts having quite a rambunctious time, something I plan on being a part of soon! The contents of the store made me feel like I was living out a wonderful dream. The shelves were lined with things from my favorite amines and books, especially Harry Potter. (If you haven't picked up on it yet, the stores name comes from Harry Potter!) Let me tell you, I almost spent all the money in my account in that store. And I wouldn't have been upset if I did! The experience was so much better than one of the "big box" stores have been or would have been in Wichita. Yes, I paid about $200 more for the TV than advertised at Best Buy but same price as Sam's equivalent TV. The information, delivery service and old TV removal was well worth the extra $$$$. It was nice also to actually hear the sound bar I was buying on the actual TV I was buying, not ever seen that at a Big Box store.

The selection in toys are what sets them apart from a big chain retail store. They have items that a young kid would get more out of then what you'll find else where. The store offers customers a pull list allowing a person to reserve a copy for themselves. In doing so, the customer gets a 10% off their purchase. Of the cons, they do have a large number of customers and it makes it hard when you ask them to look for a comic in their storage. I went in to buy a specialty pencil and possibly some small tools at Evans ceramics. I was quoted a…read moreprice on the pencil that was lower than the price on it. I pointed this out and suggested I could buy some additional tools if the salesman gave me the price he quoted in the first place. This would loose him 2 dollars on the pencil but gain him 14 on the tools. So he wouldn't go for that so I just bought the pencil. When I asked if they carried an expensive type of glaze he said they did and walked away. I'm willing to spend more to buy local but not if you treat me badly when I shop with you. These were small items but I've been looking into some more expensive kilns and other supplies. I'm also the person who does a lot of the buying for a local art center. Unfortunately I will be purchasing online from now on.
