What a thoughtful addition.** We loved our day at the spa (included in the overnight room!) The spa needs its own review, but just know that with any spa purchase, you have two hours in the Grotto - a collection of steam rooms, dry sauna, jacuzzi, cold plunge shower, essential oil sprays and infused cold cloths, sugar or salt scrubs, and more. With any spa service purchase, you also have access to The Sanctuary - their quiet waiting/relaxation room complete with hot tea, snacks, coconut water, coloring books with pencil sets , encouraging short reads, cozy blankets and more. I'm telling you - with a single spa service, you have enough here to make a whole day out of it! Our dinner at Three Owls was fabulous, but did have a few misses. Our server kept sniffing her nose (about 30 times during our evening), the added chicken breast to my salad was a bit small and DRY, and the baked Brie (delicious) came with excessively crunchy focaccia bread. Basically a giant crouton. Espresso creme brûlée, smoked Mac & Cheese, brisket, and kale salad were phenomenal!! Loved our day at the spa. I hope to be back!! Everyone was lovely!

We were unable to get one when we checked in on Saturday. Bar area: We did grab a bite and drinks at the bar area, which worked out great. They were out of a few food items. What we were able to order, sliders, fries, and cheese board we really enjoyed. It was packed and the staff were doing an excellent job managing a large crowd with speed and grace. Spa area: I did the sauna and then spent some time in the grotto and it was really nice. My feedback would be, we didn't get an orientation to the space, so I felt like I was walking around a little clueless and could have had a better experience knowing more about the space. That being said, I asked staff when I had a question and everyone was so helpful and kind. Room: I was in 422 (IYKYK) and enjoyed the siting area, and beds were comfy. Overall feedback, I fear the hotel may be resting a bit on their reputation related to cleanliness. My bathroom should have been cleaner, same in the sauna area. Just little things, but for the cost my expectations are higher than what was delivered on. That being said, I want to acknowledge that in January of 2026 staffing custodial roles may be strained for a variety of reasons. I also imagine upkeep on a historical building like this is very challenging. Overall take: Love this hotel and all it offers. I really appreciate that. Besides being extremely knowledgeable and staying educated in her field, Laura exudes a warmth and kindness that makes you feel like old friends. Their turnover rate is pretty high. But Ansley is always there and reliable. She makes sure the temp isn't too hot. She does great wax pulls. And she doesn't make anything weird (I do my vag lol). She is super personable and great to talk to! Outside of that, I do love European wax centers because they have the buy 9, get 3 free deals and they don't expire so I always like a good deal! They also have products to prevent in-grown hairs and I didn't use any of those in my first few years and I was having in-growns a lot but then I finally started using them and the in-growns have lessened a lot. Also after going for so long, some of the hair does stop growing and it hurts way less to get waxed. I think it is a good place to go as long as you find a good waxer.
