After 6 months of visiting this salon regularly, my appointment prior to my wedding arrives and we had all new extensions to be placed (which was pricey). Madi mentions she will tone them which I thought great. She turns them a very gray color (which she kept describing as neutral) when my hair highlights were a more golden tone. I pointed out that they don't match and she tried multiple times to convince me it's all fine. She kept taking pictures in different light to convince me it was fine. I felt very gaslit that we weren't seeing the same thing. We finally got to a point where i was exhausted and wanted to go home and I did feel we had it looking better. The next morning, in daylight, I could see my hair and the extensions DO NOT match or blend whatsoever. And my wedding was in a week. I reached out and again got the sense that Madi didn't want to admit her mistake and fix the issue. (Keep in mind I heard her mutter under her breath that normally extensions take longer to process toner and she didn't know what happened- which I've later learned is actually not true). I said I wanted to get the leftover extensions to have them fixed somewhere last minute (given that my wedding was in a week) and she cancels all my future appointments. Nice customer service. I do not recommend this salon to anyone.

They go beyond the simple cut and color and truly cater looks specifically to what would look good on you, knowing the correct questions to ask their clients in order to meet and often exceed expectations. I often find myself zoning out during my longer appointments for balayage because the atmosphere in this refurbished loft building downtown is SO relaxing! At the end of my appointments I always leave impressed, not just with my own hair results but after watching the results of others. You 100% receive what you pay for - as their prices are what you would expect for a downtown salon. It is worth the money as they always deliver a great product and experience. I had years of home bleaching and coloring and Rachel was able to even out my hair to a full bleach platinum blonde like a blank slate. He makes all of his own appointments via text and books up fast so you have to secure your appointment as soon as possible. I won't call out any names, because I do hope this was a one time thing, but I had asked for a cut and a balayage. The cut was fine, but the balayage was the worst I have ever seen. She used foils, when its a hand painting technique (I know very little about hair, but I know that) when she was putting on the foils, I didnt say anything because shes the expert, not me. but clearly she didn't know how a balayage is done. She didn't give me a mirror to check out her work, so I didn't see the extent of the damage until I was home- I was mortified. I immediately found someone to fix it, and it still isn't what I'd want, but still a lot better than what I got from Moxie. Overall I spent $350 on a botched hair dye (including the cost of the correction) There is no way she didn't know she did a bad job, I wish she would have acknowledged that, but she didn't say anything and accepted my payment and tip.

She does a great job with my short women's haircut. I love coming in here because there's good music, good conversation, and she even gives you a beverage with your haircut!
