I love Scoops & Grinds in Collinsville! If I'm going to treat myself to some ice cream, which I don't do very often...I go here. Why? Because they make everything fresh on-site. There is no commercially produced ice cream full of chemicals and preservatives here...it's all FRESHLY made with good, wholesome, healthy ingredients. I have to say...their Lemon is my absolute favorite, or...is it the espresso ice cream??? It doesn't matter, I love them both...and my sons absolute hands-down favorite is their cotton candy ice cream (it's blue). What I come here most for though is my iced Mocha...YUM!!! They roast their own beans here and it really makes a difference in their coffee. They also make their own muffins, brownies, lemon bars and cheesecakes. It's a real treat to come here. When you are in town for any of our events, or just passing through, make sure to head to the West end of Main Street, just past JB's Market on the way toward the High School and get yourself a treat. In the summers, I have the pleasure of taking a more leisurely and relaxing way to work which sometimes takes me through Collinsville. I cannot help but stop at Scoops and Grinds. I large latte with an extra shot and one pump of syrup (my favorite) is less than $5! I usually stop between 8 and 9 am and it doesn't seem too busy. I am in and out quick. Muffins, lemon bars and some sandwiches can be picked up as well as GELATO! Scoops and Grinds is located in a remodeled and reclaimed bank building that has lots of charm. I got the M&M Cookie Dough ice cream on a cone. I recommend that over regular cookie dough ice cream any day! The Frozen Banana Caramelatte was tasty as well. They have so much to choose from. I've never had a flavor there that I didn't like and they are quick to accommodate with a sample if you're having trouble deciding. A delightful little place, great for an after dinner treat. I had a single dip of the java chocolate chunk. It was pretty good! My husband had an iced coffee and together it was four dollars and some change-not bad. They have all kinds of choices and the atmosphere is great. She said she accidentally typed in the wrong order and then only gave me a dollar back. I asked her to verify the price, because it was still off by a few dollars, and she said.. The ice cream was good but the staff was very rude. Our order was messed up and when we asked for it to be fixed they insisted it was correct. I think most businesses would quickly make another another ice cream but they fought us over making a new one. They did eventually make a new one but with how rude the staff was I will take my money elsewhere. read more

Have always enjoyed this place since they first opened. Ice cream is great as well as the other desserts. My coffee is great about 75% of the time. Times when the coffee isn't as great is usually during busy times or depending on who makes it. My only complaint about the store is the price of the ice cream. the ice cream wasn't anything special and not that great all 'round. husband and I each got 2 scoops and the cost was almost $10. we each checked in and wanted to redeem the "1 free cookie" offer. she told us we only got one since it was one purchase. considering it doesn't say a purchase is necessary in order to redeem the coupon, we should have gotten 2 free cookies. I didn't say anything because it wasn't worth it. neither was the $10 ice cream. I would have been happier picking up 2 pints of Blue Bell for $6. read more
