The Crescent Café. Does that name sound familiar? It should. It is the same, very popular and well-known Crescent Café that operates off of Highway 97 in Sand Springs. The Crescent Café was not our destination this Monday. We were headed to the Brown Cow Diner. An empty parking lot greeted us, they are closed on Mondays. We turned around had headed back to Highway 75 to implement plan "B." My wife spotted the Crescent Café's open sign on the corner of Rogers Blvd and Osage. Another U-turn, a parking spot was waiting for us just outside the café's door on South Osage. A few steps to the front door, we are in a comfortable booth, menu in hand and drinks on the way. The local fire fighters were already in the restaurant enjoying hearty breakfasts. The café has a big menu with any combination of breakfast or breakfast item you can think of. I ordered my breakfast, 2 eggs sunny side up, bacon and hashbrowns, both crisp with a biscuit and gravy on the side. It took me a while to find it on the menu. It is called Something Lighter, if you can believe that. My wife went with what I call a salad omelet. Fresh spinach, bell pepper, onion, mushroom, tomato and cheese cooked up in three fluffy eggs, perfect hashbrowns and a biscuit and gravy on the side. It was NOT good. Our salads came with big, thick slices of tomato plopped down on top of iceberg lettuce chunks the size of real icebergs that had to be cut up into a manageable size before you could get them into your mouth! Don't salads normally come with cherry or grape tomatoes that don't require a knife to cut them up? Or at least a tomato that has been cut into wedges or small pieces?? We had to cut the big tomato slices up before we could eat them. Try cutting thick tomato slices that are laying up on a bed of chunky iceberg lettuce. It's not easy. There were a few pieces of purple cabbage and some shredded carrots. That's it, that's all. No mixed greens of any kind. ICEBERG LETTUCE. A spring mix would be nice for salads, maybe some green leaf lettuce or some red leaf lettuce. For $12 maybe we could get a few spinach leaves? There was ONE hard boiled egg, cut in half. Closing out this horror show was a palm full of rancid (yes, rancid) fried bacon pieces and another few bites of a fatty ham. The ranch dressing was a watered down version of "Ranch". It is NOT the ranch dressing that you hope for that looks like and tastes like RANCH. We managed to eat about half and simply tossed the remaining. We highly recommend you never order this monstrosity of a plain, simple SALAD. You'll be sorely disappointed if you've ever had a REAL salad with lots of healthy greens, ripe cherry tomatoes and quality ham/bacon/hard-boiled egg toppings. We paid $25 for the pleasure of this experience. We will never set foot in Crescent Cafe again. First impressions are important and this first impression missed the mark by a mile. read more

A good cafe with lots of variety on the menu. I hade the chicken fried steak with green beans,mashed potato,salad and roll. I would rate this among the better to best in both taste and portion. The wife tried the Ruben and was satisfied and was only able to eat half. We brought home both Lemmon and coconut pie for a late dessert. Was expecting it to be homemade but found it to be premade but it was the better quality restaurant brand. Over all we would make a return visit to try other items. The policemen we're eating so we new the food must be good. read more

I love this place. Have been several times to the Sand Springs location and this is just as good if not better. Great food for good prices. My only regret is that I have not tried the breakfast menu yet but it looks good. read more

The greeting upon arrival so kind. The all you can eat catfish is so good, and priced right. The service was great, drinks stayed filled and timing of checking in to see if anything else was needed was perfect. The "thank you" for coming g in was a huuuuge plus. read more

Best spot for some breakfast in Skiatook. Ate at the one in Sand Springs for a number of years. Great cafe/diner food.

Bad food! Over cooked, burned edges, tasteless, super oily onion rings. I don't recommend it and I'm not going back.

Food is delicious and cheap, and the staff is awesome! I think my husband and I have eaten there for $25-$27 both times we've gone in, and that includes 20% tip. read more

My brother and I tried this restaurant. I was going to get breakfast, but I saw a sign that said their special that day was Indian Tacos. It was very good. Brother got the chicken fried steak with fries. He said it was good. I tried one of the the fries and they were amazing! We both had so much food we took the rest home. The waitresses were quick and very helpful. The place was clean and decorated nicely. We will go again, but I will get breakfast next time. It's kinda hard to find a parking place for people who have issues walking. We waited till we saw someone leave so I didn't have too far to walk. read more

Best breakfast around! My eggs were done perfectly and hash browns crispy!! The hot mess and waffles are my absolute favorite!! You cant go wrong with either for breakfast. The waitstaff is personable and friendly while always checking my tea for refills. Definitely give this joint a 5 star!! I'll return often. read more
