I've been coming here off & on for years, and I have to admit that Anthony (the owner) is very consistent in having barbers that demonstrate a high quality of work ethic plus professionalism. You won't have an uncomfortable environment here with staff, loud & obnoxious music around children, or standards of low standards. Haircuts for children are usually in the $30 range, which seems to be market rate. Of course, prices varies per haircut style. It's recommended that once you find a barber that you like, make an appointment with them. Walk-ins are welcome, yet you'll have to see about any barber's availability. Located within the plaza off of Watuaga Road and close to Rufe Snow, where there is a US post office and WIC office. Safe area that's clean, well-maintained, and with plenty of parking. read more

The owners son addressed me as "white boy" in a condescending tone, and just hearing their general conversation I get the feeling they don't really like white people. They are outright rude and will ignore you when you walk in to the uncomfortable point where you just want to leave. Will never return, I have a black wife, and son, so it deeply saddens me to see people act like this in today's day in age, I'm also half Mexican and don't play into the whole race war BS, but it's pretty clear they do. Would recommend staying away whether you're black or white or Mexican people like this may never heal and only continue to create more hate in the world, very sad. read more

I moved to TX in 2009 and spent 2 years trying to find a good barbershop in the area. This place is very professional and all the barbers make you feel welcome as soon as you come through the door. I've been coming here and getting my haircut by Mr. Brooks for over 6 years. I have never left with a haircut a I was not happy with. read more

I would not recommend these people to anyone or lease not the barber my kid had because he didn't give a proper fade and cut the hair shorter on one side and left it longer on the other. He then told my wife that that's the way we had asked for it to be cut. He almost seemed offended that we wanted him to fix it. read more

I have had SEVERAL bad experiences at this place..the first one was with the owners son..he was VERY unprofessional when he cut my son's hair and I contacted the owner and the matter was resolved..I started bringing my son to the owner instead..we don't go to this shop often because we don't live on this side of town anymore..but when I do it's usually on Wednesday when they have $10 cuts for kids. Or so they say..THEY don't tell you that it's for a "basic" cut whatever that means then they try to charge you more if they have to take an extra 5 more minutes to cut your child's hair. And they don't know how to follow directions when you tell them what you want! I sent the owner a pic of what I wanted for my son AND my son showed him a pic and he still didn't cut his hair right! If I could give this place a middle finger instead of 1 star i would! read more

I do NOT recommend this barber shop to anyone, they are VERY unprofessional and the young man "scoop" does not know how to handle business at all! They do not greet the customers coming in or give any direction on what they want their clients to do when they walk in. My son's received a hair cut that was NOT a quality haircut and the so called owner "scoop" told me he doesn't know what I want him to say. Really business owner or manager? Had to wait an hour for my son's hair cut. The guy asked who need a cut next, then he acted like he didn't want to cut a child's hair. I offered to wait for the next barber. He said to come on back. The guy took an hour to cut a 4 year old's hair. Cut the back of his neck and forehead. Took a gap out of the side and tried to cover it up by cutting a part into his scalp. The gap was too big, so it looks terrible. Won't be going back. My child was crying by the end of it, and begged me not to take him there again. read more

These guys here are always professional and do a wonderful job. They are closed on Mondays, so plan around that. They also discount children's haircuts on Wednesdays. I've taken my son to other places, but always come back to Scoops. My son is half Mexican and quarter Korean, so he has the thickest hair I've ever seen, but these guys tackle it with ease. He always looks great when they're finished with him. read more

These guys know what they are doing. I've got thick wavy hair and it came out looking sharp. I thought my previous barber was good until I went here today. They greet you when you walk in and your turn comes quick. Highly recommended. Great service for the price. read more
