I'm somewhat lactose intolerant and never get any negative effects from this delicious ice cream. McKenna was so friendly and went out of her way to get a fresh batch of cookies and cream from the back for my son. He has allergies and we wanted to be safe. Great service and awesome ice cream! Cute little ice cream shop in downtown Ft Myers. They have so many flavors to choose from! The line moves pretty slowly and since it's just one long line with all the flavors, it's difficult to see the flavor options ahead of time. They seem to have a thing with blue ice creams! Many of the flavors that aren't typically blue were colored blue (i.e. Cookie dough) which was somewhat confusing! They do let you try the flavors ahead of Time. I went with the banana cream pie (just ok) and twixie ice cream (very good!). If I'm ever back in the area, I will be trying more flavors. read more

Once we arrived, the place was hopping with wide variety of people of all generations. The decor is simple with some seating inside and outside on the street which goes well with the downtown theme. Scoops on First has a small variety of gelato and large selection of Ice Cream Club ice cream, my choice was Bear Claw and Raspberry Chocolate Truffle. This is a commercially produced icecream of good quality. Everyone likes their choices. The ladies likes the mini size it is just enough to cure the sweet craving. If you are in the downtown area this is a quaint little place to stop by and fill your sweet tooth craving after dinner. read more

Yes it's a bit pricey but in line with other homemade ice cream places. The sea salt caramel gelato was beyond delicious and to go for gold, it's studded with chocolate chunks. I thought about getting gelato, but it looked like it had seen better days. I decided to get a kids cup of ice cream, which is two scoops. I had the peanut butter cup. My husband and I both agreed the ice cream was just ok. It reminded us of what you would get when you buy store brand ice cream. They serve Ice Cream Club Ice Cream. I had never heard of it, but I wasn't impressed. It probably doesn't help that we had eaten Love Boat Ice Cream a couple of nights before, which was several notches above this. The service was friendly and efficient, no complaints there. If you are downtown and really want some ice cream, this would do the trick.
