My son had trouble logging in to his online banking account and online credit card verification (he went to another branch and they didn't know how to help him. BMO's phone customer service was deplorable -- after an hour on hold, they hang up on you and then you have to call again). When I dropped him off at this branch, he was instantly referred to their "tech" expert and his online issues were resolved in less than 15 minutes.

Thanks, but no thanks. Fortunately, for every fast food restaurant at Crowfoot there is also a bank, so I had a lot of other options. I literally looked around from the HSBC doorway and decided on BMO. I don't know, maybe their sign was the prettiest colour or something. My first impression of BMO was the complete opposite of HSBC. It was clean, warmly furnished and- most importantly- staffed! I walked to the information desk and said I was hoping to open a new account. The woman told me to take a seat and someone would be right with me! You mean I don't have to wait FIVE DAYS? Nope, I didn't even have to wait five minutes. Ten minutes later I walked out of the bank with a new account, a new, permanent debit card (not one of those temporary cards where you have to wait THREE WEEKS to get your real one in the mail) and immediate access to the ATM (to deposit my "just in case my other card gets stolen" holiday money) as well as online banking. Although I'm a lifelong customer of another bank and do most of my banking there, the great service at BMO made it clear that if my primary bank ever lets me down, BMO should be my first stop.

There is more than enough free parking behind this bank and there is a security guard present in the foyer, it is a small bank location so the line ups can be really long and crazy, I have seen it even touching the front door. Service for the most part is always good but sometimes there is the odd transaction, what I notice the most here are the very odd fashion choices of the staff, sometimes I feel like I have been thrown in the 80s, other times I feel like I am in a small town in the 70s but for the most part their quirky fashion statements do not affect their fast and efficient service.

Consequently $11.72 was missing from my Scotiabank account to pay my $1,265 postdated rental check. At first it seemed that the Scotiabank has paid my check, because the transaction clearly appeared on my bank account. But Today; 2 days later; I have seen in my account that the bank had returned the check and charged my with $42.50. They did this today when more than $100 has transferred to my account, so the required amount was fully available on my account. After the Scotiabank has returned my check, my landlord will charge me with $100. So, altogether I will have $142.00 charge. I have an account at Scotiabank nearly half a year, my paycheck is deposited to my account bi-weekly. I have no Scotiabank credit card nor any loan. The bottom line is that you can do what you want because you are allowed to do this. On the other hand you are using all of you customer's money on the stock exchange or for investments and you gain huge profit on that. Every customer "lending you" money for weeks, months or years for nothing or for pittance. But you do not lending even $11.72 for only one-two days, because $42.50 worst more for you that the 1-2 days interest of $11.72. Their hours are Tuesday 9:30a.m.-4p.m. Wednesday 9:30a.m.-5p.m. Thursday 9:30a.m.-5p.m. Friday 9:30a.m.-4p.m. Saturday Closed Sunday Closed Monday 9:30a.m.-4p.m. The staff are always very pleasant and willing to help. Never really busy inside so talking with tellers and staff is fairly relaxed. Usually no lineups and if there are they go down fairly quickly. Like any bank very clean and orderly.
