We started with a yummy crostini made of goat cheese, strawberries, and balsamic. Then a summer salad followed made with berries and sliced almonds. Third course was a fruit sorbet as a palette cleanser in between. Fourth and fifth courses consisted of what guests ordered individually online upon purchasing their tickets to the show. I chose the mac and cheese with the veggie lasagna. Mac and cheese was amazing! By the time I started on my lasagna, I was already pretty full. It tasted more like a vegan lasagna rather than a veggie one. I tasted shredded bits of coconut that may have been vegan cheese. Lastly, for dessert it was a lovely strawberry shortcake. We were all well fed and satisfied by the time Magician Anjo came out. Because we were a smaller crowd of six guests, we got a more intimate experience with Anjo, who was great by the way! Very funny and entertaining. In the course of 45 minutes, he did quite a few various tricks for us including one with playing cards and one with golf balls. The one with the money at the end was probably his best trick! And due to their unique business model, it is VERY AFFORDABLE. I'll be the first to admit I didn't think "family friendly" comedy would be nearly as good as "adult comedy" ... but I was promptly schooled. "Family friendly" does not mean knock-knock jokes or jokes without innuendo/subtext ... I laughed so hard I HURT. A wonderful surprise and a testament to the amazing talent on this channel. Instead of paying $15 month or $150 year like many other services, as of the date of this post they offer two very affordable tiers: a low monthly rate (under $7) OR an annual subscription which is crazy CHEAP ($40 a year!). They help to keep overhead low by allowing comedians to accept on-screen TIPS from viewers. This encourages each comedian to bring their A Game -- the harder the laughs the higher the tips :-) What a novel idea! I started with a monthly plan to see if I'd find the time to watch it, with most shows lasting about 20 minutes. I found belly-laughs a great way to start my day, so quickly upgraded to the Annual Plan. I've been enjoying these shows SO MUCH that I'm actually planning a trip to attend the live taping of a show! However, my husband and I decided to pay another visit this evening, and holy cow I am so glad that we did! Tonight's show featured their main cast and a musical style second act. We were blown away by how talented these actors are in terms of singing, acting, and thinking on the spot; their jokes and spontaneity had us rolling! I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. We will definitely be coming back with friends :-) There will be mess-ups, unexpected twists, and I guarantee the cast on the stage will be laughing too. The theater itself was great, it has a more complete food and snack counter with more food options than the typical theater junk food, and of coarse all he treats and drinks. Our seats were very comfortable (recliners) and the screen we had (may have been an IMAX) was very large. Sound was good, not just loud. Ok, it was over loud like most theaters today but it also was tight and clear. After our movie some of our group grabbed ice cream and others got burgers and fries from the businesses that are right out front. Then we at around a fire pit and ate our food while enjoying the fire. I think there were several fire pits to enjoy. Really enjoyed the wonderful synchronization of music with the colorful lights. They definitely put a lot of effort into making this entertaining for guests. This is a no-cost, high quality light show that is very accessible from the I-15. Around 7 there are already a lot of cars parked right outside, so I recommend getting here early to secure a good spot. It doesn't seem people get outside the vehicle, perhaps out of courtesy or because of the cold, but I was able to hold my daughter and let her enjoy the light show relatively close up. Highly recommended if you're looking for something more chill at no cost (although I've heard the thanksgiving point lights are quite good).
