I was recommended to go see Dr. Geller after having cataract surgery from a very large local company in our area. I had many floaters in my eye, and they could not help me any longer. So I made my appointment and meet up with Doctor Geller he is very thorough and after seeing what my problem was he explained what needed to be done. He also has an amazing group of ladies that definitely knows how to treat his patients. So after two hours of testing, Dr.Geller and I have another little meeting and decided that he would start the procedure. Which was two treatments. And tell me to come back in six months after my second procedure. Which was yesterday, I told him my left eye was 80% better. And I could live with it if I had to but I would prefer to be 100%. He told me to leave her alone. He felt that he couldn't make it any better. He also told me that he felt that I didn't need cataract surgery and that I should've gotten a second opinion! And that he would see me again next year. I couldn't believe my ears ! This is an honest man !!! I feel he's a very kind and trustworthy Doctor and I would recommend him to anybody. It really touched me yesterday for a specialist to tell his patient how he really felt about another specialist in the area who has a very huge and large practice! That you should've got a second opinion when you be going to a very large firm in Fort Myers for a few years and you will believe what the doctor tell you because say your doctors. If you're looking for a sign to commit to an eye doctor for surgery... THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not one to typically go out of my way to write reviews. But after my experience with this office I felt compelled to share that experience. Dr. Scott Geller and his team gave my family the best experience we have ever had with any medical doctor we've ever seen. I brought my dad to his practice after seeing a billboard on a local road in Ft. Myers and after doing a little more research online, I decided we needed to bring him to see him. In a nutshell my dad had a very complicated case. He had gone through a lot and needed a second opinion to get some help with his eye. After telling our story, Dr. Geller spent over 2 hours with him during his visit to help us navigate his situation. He and his staff (especially his assistant Neilene) were so passionate and caring towards my dad. You just don't come across doctors or staff like that anymore. We were in tears leaving the office because we felt so touched by how well we were treated and that my dad would finally begin a positive step in his journey towards healing from an unsuccessful surgery from another doctor in Charlotte county. If you see a bad review on here, just know there are people out there who might not follow healthcare instructions, find themselves in a bind because they were not compliant, and point fingers at their doctor. Dr Geller fixed one of my eyes cataracts in March this year, where he did an awesome job! I just had the other eye done recently, where once again I had a truly positive experience! The out patient center he uses is a great experience in itself; but his on site staff are truly wonderful in scheduling, moving you through a visit, answering questions or getting you the answers you need (to take away from any apprehension's you might have). DO NOT go there!! Dr geller performed a procedure for floaters in my right eye I paid $900 out of pocket plus they charged my insurance company $650 MONEY GRAB!! Read all the negative reviews, same situation plus his staff at the front desk are rude, probably working on a commission. I went back 2 months later because my right eye got worse, never needed reading glasses but now I do, due to the DAMAGE he caused with his laser procedure. It's a SCAM!!!!! Before the procedure, he told me on a 1 to 10 for cataracts, I was a zero, meaning I have plenty of time before I need that surgery. When I went back 2 months later he appeared very nervous with me & after another eye exam, he told me I need cataract surgery, funny, 2 months prior he said I was nowhere near surgery. So I went to a cataract dr & was told I only need surgery in my right eye & that he saw my floaters that apparently worsened! I'm disputing my $900 charge with my credit card company! I hate leaving negative reviews but my outcome was very bad. Came in from southern California spent lots of money on traveling and hotels and such. The service was good everybody was friendly but the vitreolysis treatment was very unsuccessful. After 5 total sessions my floaters have not changed much if at all but the worst part that has been extremely tough on me is that I have a blind spot on my right eye. There were two doctors that told me whatever it is it should go away and that there is no damage in my retinas, but it's been 2 months and the spot is still there. It is very distracting. I'm young and if I have to live the rest of my life like this it's going to suck. The only good thing is I got a refund but a few bucks isn't worth permanent eye damage. I had a sense of safety hearing this was the best person to treat floaters in the usa. Very very disappointed with the outcome. I was told it's an extremely safe procedure. If there was a chance of something going wrong I would have taken a no just as well. Be careful before booking an appointment. read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would! The Dr's are nice but staff member Sammy is one of the rudest people I have ever came across. I have Tricare Prime and they tried to tell me I have a bill when I didnt and when I talked to her she was VERY disrespectful! When I asked for my records she refused unless my next eye dr faxed over a request. Being military I ALWAYS get my records so i have them when we transfer with zero issues. Do to her lack of respect and how she has talked to me I will NEVER recommended them to anyone ever! I have still never gotten my prescription from them. So not only do I get to fight with the staff over billing, records, but also to get a script. This place just wants your money with zero results. I recently moved away from my whole family in tennessee to build a life in florida and i need a doctor to see about my previous diagnosis of glaucoma. I read reviews and i though this could be a good place. The tests were great and they supposedly found no signs of glaucoma GREAT NEWS! Mind you im fully insured and i was only suppose to pay copay and lenses. I was charged on my card the whole visit. I contacted my insurance to get answers and find out why my vision insurance did not work. THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT, I have expressed to this office to file the claim to my medical insurance not my vision due to my specialist test for my glaucoma. To this day they have not properly filed with the proper insurance. To make the situation worse, to get me to stop contacting about my charge to my credit card they refunded my money but still filed the claim to my insurance and it was denied due to them claiming on my vision. That being said just be weary when you go. People are nice but i think they are trying to get me to just pay my insurance the money when a simple fix is to file the bill on medical insurance. There have been numerous times over the years when I needed to communicate with Dr. Geller after hours and he has always returned my calls and has even met with me for after hour appointments. Once my treatments were finished, I went from approx 25 floaters small to large floaters to virtually none! My regular eye doctor had told me nothing could be done and just to get used to it. Now. I went to Dr Geller to have a floater removed. I was paying out of pocket ($850) because I was told insurance didn't cover it. Told to come 15 minutes early which I did. Tech took me in 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Did a very basic eye exam, read the last line. She dilated my eye sat me down in another waiting room said it would be 10 to 15 minutes to dilate after 25 minutes she put me in another exam room. All the while patients that came in after me were seen. I waited 20 minutes in that exam room when I noticed I no longer heard any voices. Went out the door saw no one! Went to the front desk where there was a man standing there doing nothing from what I could tell. Told the receptionist that I had been in there office over and hour and never saw the Dr and I was done waiting. She just asked my name and that was it. No sorry let me get the Dr nothing! My husband who was waiting for me tells me that guy at the desk was the DR and that he saw him come in and out making small talk the whole time he was waiting for me. Dr Geller never said a word!!! Too bad that was $850 you lost and in addition I am telling anyone that crosses my path what a horrible experience I had at your office. read more

I went in to get an eye exam that my insurance said would be covered with NO COPAY, when I got finished the office said there was a copy. I have spoken with my insurance and they were to refund my copay as it was the way the doctor coded the visit. Now Dr. Geller's office has gotten the refund check, and I paid them also. Lady was very rude about giving my money back even though they had been PAID TWICE. Called credit card company two days ago still no credit, visit was in Dec of 2020. I would be very careful of their billing and I will NEVER GO BACK. read more

The Dr himself was okay - mid sentence left the room after being taken by his assistant - apparently talking too much and spending too much time with a patient not good for the financial bottom line. The staff at the desk is where the real issue is - either they are just totally incompetent or they do this on purpose. I was quoted $150 for the visit when I called in. The Dr found nothing wrong and so when I went to pay it was $49 and I thought wow that is an honest Drs office for once. Didn't last long - they claimed after knowing I was not going to be in the area for a bit - that my fee was $300. The woman on the phone actually attempted to blame me for her uninformed assistant taking the payment - that it was my fault she didn't take enough. Sorry this was very unprofessional and very sad that in this year when things are hard enough that a Drs office takes advantage of people charging double what they quote! I arrived for my appointment with Dr. Geller Wednesday, December 2nd. I was told at the front desk that I had a $50 co-pay and a $40 additional refraction charge. That would've been a charge of $90. After the service was over I was presented a bill for $130. That's $40 more than I was told when I first arrived.. At no point during my visit with the doctor or his staff was I informed that there would be an additional charge. Of course they try to explain it away saying that you were charged extra for this, my reply was you should have told me that prior to doing the extra work you claimed to do. When you give a person a price for a job to be done that is the price they should expect to pay. My advice to you is if you use Dr. Geller make sure you get everything in writing. read more

In November of 2016 I suddenly developed floaters. One was particularly bothersome. I immediately went to my eye doctor. She told me what caused them and that they would do one of 3 things. Go away, become less evident, or stay the same. No mention of any treatment was made. So, I went on line and started researching. I found 3 doctors in the US who specialized in treating floaters. Dr. Geller trained 2 of them. I figured why go to the disciples when you can go to God! I made an appointment to meet with Dr. Geller. I am in California, so I would fly to Florida My first appointment was on a Monday morning. I was greeted by 2 marvelous technicians. They began a very comprehensive examination of my eyes. I then, for the first time, met Dr. Geller. I immediately knew I was in good hands. He also performed a very thorough exam. Then he told me that the bad floater I had could be dealt with. The next thing I know, I am sitting in front of a laser. About 4 minutes later, it was pretty much gone. Not entirely, but enough such that i now could ignore it. I was actually able to see it crumble away inside my eye as he was working. Remarkable. I met with him the following morning. He, yet again, examined everything. He determined that, while I had other floaters in both eyes, further treatment was not advisable. He is very conservative. His feeling is, "the less intervention, the better.". He is certainly not in it for the money. He could have treated my other eye for anything and earned more. I rested one day, and returned to him for one last time. He and his crew did a final eye physical. There were no pressure problems, or other residual affects. Not having to live with that dark dot inside my eye is a game changer. Dr. Geller is a gentleman, modest, and a genius. If you ever have this problem, trust your eyes to him and no one else. read more

Had a huge mass floater in right eye. Dr Geller said he could help disperse floater so I went for 2 of 4 treatments. Out of pocket $1800. After two treatments he said my eye pressure was to high to do any more. Checked me 2 times and then no more communication. Within the next 4 months I started seeing clouds in my right eye so went to my Eye Dr at Eye Centers of Florida. They were aghast at the elevated eye pressure NOT MONITORED. They quickly put me on some serious eye drops (for rest of my life) and found my right eye had no peripheral vision! I knew it! My right eye only sees straight ahead. Apparently the laser did damage to my eye and my complaint was the lack of follow up when HE KNEW MY EYE PRESSURE WAS ELEVATED! I do NOT recommend Dr Scott Geller to anyone.
