I had the most wonderful experience! I developed diplopia suddenly and called to get an appointment. They were able to see me that day in their Bonita Office. Brad Snead spent 5 minutes with me determined the problem QUICKLY and sent me to Heather, the optometrist in the office. HEATHER was so wonderful with me and went over all of my options. We scheduled an apt for 2 days later in the Naples office. She drove from the Ft Myers office just to see me and fix my glasses with a sticker. My son came with me and we both went on and on about how fantastic she was with me! I highly recommend this office for all of your eye care needs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will be switching to Snead Eye Group from my current eye doctor! Thank you!!!! Unfortunately, I have to edit this post. Dr. Brad Snead failed me. I was there for diplopia and Dr. Snead quickly passed it off as an acute condition that would most likely resolve itself. He did not take the time with me he should have, and It continued to worsen so I went to another ophthalmologist who immediately sent me for an MRI. They found multiple lesions in my brain. If I had not gone for a second opinion I wouldn't have know that I have cancer that had spread to my brain causing my vision problems. Dr. Snead may be knowledgeable, but he needs to do a better job of educating patients and spending enough time with them to know what is really going on. I will not be going back. Unethical practice. I am an RN and a community advocate. When a patient calls and asks if they are in network with a certain insurance plan and what the copay will be, the patient assumes the answer they get is truthful. Instead, without warning nor discussion, after the fact, they charge the patient many times more than the stated amount - without prior patient discussion or permission. Their facebook review page is also full of *many* examples of patients describing unethical and predatory billing practices. No patient should trust their health to untruthful practices. read more

I was told I needed cataract surgery. To improve my eye sight, I was told I needed a lens in both eyes. I agreed to this procedure. After the implanting of the lens, I could not see as well as before. I found out that they had measured "incorrectly", and there was nothing they could do...it was permanent. So my "good" eye, became my "bad" eye. At an appointment I confronted Dr. John Snead (founder of Snead Eye Group) with this issue. He agreed they had measured incorrectly. His comment: "WHAT DO YOU CARE? YOU'RE NOT PAYING FOR IT". I have medicare. Now I wish I had contacted an attorney. With an attitude like this, I'm surprised he has ANY CLIENTS. BEWARE. read more

They gave me a high pressure sales pitch for the expensive options which took my breath away. So on my second visit I called it all off I decided I need time to think of it and ponder what my next move would be. Then after paying $105 on the first visit they sent me a bill for $521. It took two days of talking to them and trying to get some sense out of them and talking to Medicare to finally hopefully get it resolved. It's like buying a car if you don't fall for the sales pitch and you say no then you don't know anything but doctors have to get their money. At some point I will get the cataract surgery but it will not be with the Snead Eye Group. read more

Dr .Brad Sneed did a good job on Cataract Surgery. However, I ordered glasses with their office. The glasses broke and lenses fell out in two days. I returned the glasses and asked for a full refund (640.00). I was told that by Heather that her manager would call me on Wednesday. I did not receive a call and asked that the charge on my Visa card be refused, and refuted the charge. Visa was advised that the glasses were in fact returned ; but no refund would be processed. Sneed guaranteed the glasses until they were out the door with the customer. Getting the glasses returned within two days was too long. I returned on10-22-21 and picked up the repaired $600 glasses. I will report this to BBB unless I received credit within two weeks. read more

Just moved to the area. I suffer severe dry eye & light sensitivity. This practice was recommended because one of their doctors is considered a 'specialist'. Unfortunately that doc was on leave & I was scheduled with someone else. i supplied all required forms & had 30 years of optical records forwarded. upon arrival & initial interaction with their tech, it was abundantly clear that no one read any of the documents. I explained the light sensitivity issue prior to dilation. The doc spent about 8 minute s with me, said 'oh yeah you do have dry eyes' & recommended a special medication that would have cost over $500 per month because it's not available by prescription yet, and 'could' take up to 6 months to provide results. Hard pass. after the exam I was hustled over to the optical department to order trial contacts & to discuss glasses. Naturally they couldn't just replace the lenses in my current pair. I explained that with my eyes dilated I was unable to see clearly or to even keep my eyes open for more than a few minutes. They kept shoving frames at me & trying to take measurements. $600 for low end lenses & $800 for the best. I expressed my reluctance to make a commitment and I take responsibility for feeling pressured & not pushing back. I was visually impaired & worried about having to drive home. Admittedly, I was off my game. I left mid-afternoon on a Friday and my eyes remained significantly dilated until Saturday evening. I called first thing Monday morning to cancel & the pressure to move forward began. I asked for a refund but said I'd consider a future purchase when I had time (& unimpaired vision) to come in & look at frames. Three weeks later & no refund. I called & spoke with Heather who claims she is the decision-maker. First, she lied & said she's left messages. (She has not. Someone from Snead called 2 weeks after cancelled my order, but did not leave a message.) When I began to explain again, she cut me off and spoke over me for 90% of the rest of the call. She actually began screaming at me 'Why are you doing this?!' and 'who talks like this?!' and lastly 'I can just hang up!'. Trust me when I say that I was firm but professional, so I can only assume that her theatrical reaction was for her audience, in-office. The situation remains unresolved. This is a business not a medical practice. If you're not comfortable being shuttled around like a cow in slaughterhouse, don't go here. If you don't have endless funds to spend on plastic eye glass frames & exclusively produced pharmaceuticals, don't go here. If you don't expect to purchase eye ware from someone who steamrolls you into submission, don't go here. If you expect any amount of professionalism or customer service, don't go here. read more

Its pretty much run by unskilled techs.They did mistake twice on my eyeglass prescription and it feels very clear that their main motivation is to sell frames and glasses and not to treat patients. I had two cataract surgeries with Dr. Brad Snead and I am more than happy with both the process and the result. The team was extremely professional, friendly, and even went out of their way to schedule my appointment for surgery with very little notice. I am nothing but grateful for their service and for the excellent result. After being nearly blind fo 15 years I can now see with 20/20 vision in both eyes. Before surgery you have a meeting with a financial counselor. Good for all. But I was lead to believe that my total financial responsibility would be Far less than what it was! FAR LESS! Called them and talked to billing, then counselor then back to billing where I talked to Hazel. Hazel repeated to me as all before her that Medicare pays 80% and that I was responsible for 20%. I was told this over and over as if I was a child. I know this as does everyone else on Medicare. Not a one of them would talk to me about the exorbitant amount I was actually charged! I stated several times that I would gladly pay my 20% of the amount that I was led to believe! I then said again that I was not going to pay the billed amount...... I had a procedure that did not change my eyelid appearance and my follow up appointment is the sole purpose of this review. Paid well over $250 for my glasses. After 3 weeks I had to call the office to know if glasses were ready for pick up. Someone answered the phone and transfer my phone call to the office in Barkley circle, no one picked up and was transferred directly to voice mail. Left message and no one called me back. I decided to call again and finally I was transferred to a live person who appeared to be bothered. She said she just received the prescription glasses and has no time to call me yet. I told her I would have stopped by three days later (on a Friday), since they are open two days a week only until 3pm. Friday comes and I drive to the office in fort myers to pick up my glasses. Employee hand me over glasses and asked me to try them on. I couldn't see anything, the prescription was wrong. She takes back my glasses and disappears for a few minutes. When she came back she told me the lab mistyped the prescription numbers and needed to be redone. I asked her how long that would take since I had waited already 3 weeks and she replied: "hopefully one week, I'll call you" and dismissed me like that. I'm very upset and bothered right now. I had needed cataract surgery for over a year and I visited three eye clinics that could conduct the procedure. I was looking for a place that made me feel comfortable and with that would give me confidence. The Snead Eye Group gave me that confidence right from the first technician that met me. They were ALL very personable and they all seamed happy to be there. The staff is a real blessing. Dr. Brad Snead reinforced my confidence. He is personable and confident. I would just like to start this review by stating that I rarely complain and am rarely disappointed by the customer services of a business. But since I've been waiting in the reception area for almost 40 minutes now, I felt compelled to share my opinion. First, poor customer service. Front desk displayed a negative attitude upon entering the establishment. Second, currently I have been waiting 40 minutes for my standard eye appointment. People around me seem to be waiting much longer. What shocks me the most is that restaurants are able to figure out an adequate time for a party/parties' meal but a doctors office fails to adequately allocate time per patient. It's 2015, almost 2016- figure out how long each patient takes to complete their appointment and manage time effectively. I didn't give them one star because I hate writing reviews and being a high maintenance person, but 40+ minutes is completely unacceptable. read more

They double bill, charge more than what they tell you they're going to in the 1st place. I recently took my 11 year old niece who I have guardianship to I have guardianship to Snead eye group for an eye exam. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was told that it was a $139 for a new patient eye exam. I scheduled the appointment Kama took her in paid for the appointment as well as purchased Is an almost $600 pair of glasses. All paid for the day of the original appointment. I opened up my mailbox yesterday and to my surprise, there was a bill in there for $512.21, with the description being an eye exam for a new patient. How can they say that it's a $139, charge me a $139 and I have the receipt where I paid the $139 for the new patient I exam And then mail me a separate invoice for another $500? They are an absolute rip off! Plus you can call and call their billing department and no one answers. read more

Everyone at Snead Eye Group was friendly and helpful except for the man in charge, Dr. Bradford Snead. Furious that I had an eye emergency when he planned to have his Monday afternoon off, he refused to even speak to me when he entered the examining room. He did not introduce himself, he spoke only to his nurse as he examined my swelling face. After giving me instructions, he angrily said, "If we don't get this under control, you are going to wind up in the hospital and I'm not going to be here next weekend." He then told me who to call if the problem got worse. It did get worse and the doctor he told me to call was also out of town when I needed him. Dr. Bradford Snead did not even confer with this doctor to be sure he was available. So please note: If you want your eye emergency treated by a petulant child, call Dr. Bradford Snead. read more

THE WORST EYE GROUP TO EVER BE ESTABLISHED. They are never open. Their phones are always broken. It takes weeks to get a prescription in for pick up. The people working there are not very educated and need to go through training or schooling again. Overall, a horrible place. read more

Both my husband and I had recent positive experiences with Snead Eye Group. My husband had successful cataract surgery for half the cost quoted by another eye surgery center. Dr. Snead also detected a potential retina issue and referred him to a retina specialist. The optometrist whom he had been seeing for annual eye exams never mentioned this. Dr. Snead performed my cataract surgery a few years ago and since then had annual eye exams with an optometrist, who told me my worsening eyesight was due to astigmatisms in both eyes. Finally went back to Dr. Snead who identified the problem as a film that can often form behind the lens, obscuring the vision. This is easily corrected with a laser treatment lasting only about 15-20 seconds each. My eyesight is much improved and was told that the problem will not return. I read the reviews and can't comment on the difficulties of other patients concerning cost and billing, but we were given clear information on costs of both the cataract and the laser surgery. Would agree that the wait times for appointments in the Naples office are longer than usual, but brought a book to read the last time, knowing it would be awhile. I would like the office to post a no cellphone sign as too many people make and receive calls while waiting. For us, the bottom line is that even with the inconvenience of long wait times (seems to be a common occurrence with physicians' offices), we will continue to see Dr. Snead annually for eye checkups. read more

I was seen at the Snead Eye Group by both John Snead and his son Brad. I found both of them to be impatient with answering my questions. Both seemed to want to spend as little time as possible with me. Rather unpleasant experience working with them. I must say that the support staff was always courteous and seemed efficient and well informed. I wish this review was better. read more

I think the customer service is exemplary. I was in town unexpectedly for three days and got a check up appointment immediately. I have told the ladies on the desk what a great job they have done for me on several visits throughout my cataract surgery last year and again last week. I have have had the following experiences with Snead Eye Group: annual check ups, eye infection treatments, and eye surgery. I should have reviewed sooner than now after reading that sentence to show my gratitude and appreciation for the high level of care, respect, and treatment that I have received from every doctor, nurse, and assistant associated with the group; however, I am particularly compelled today to write about Brenda, I had ordered contacts via the telephone to carry me over until my next appointment, which I had not received in over one month's time. This was not expected time frame, and I called and was told that there was some sort of confusion (post office) about the delivery - fortunately, for me, the person I spoke to was Brenda. She not only organized a new delivery but also ordered a couple of pairs for immediate use - and delivered them to me personally!! Impressive! read more

I recently had what I thought was an eye infection and made an appointment to see Dr. Brad Snead of the Snead Eye Group. He was quickly able to diagnose my situation, which was promptly addressed. I hadn't had an eye exam in a while, and the office accommodated me on short notice to do a full exam as well. They were all very friendly. It was a good experience. OMG DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT go to this group of physicians! I only gave them one star because I couldn't pick "0". The staff on Airport Rd are incompetent and the ones in Ft Myers are RUDE and unwilling to write off a $75 balance that is their fault! I went in for an annual exam (paid by my eye ins) as my vision was getting worse. They told me a refractory test was $45, which I did not agree to pay (actually refused) and told them they were billing the wrong insurance (eye ins, not BC/BS). They told me to discuss it with the girl doing the test, and just tell her I didn't want the test. When asked to check I would pay for the test I refused. When the girl started to do the refractory test i told her I refused it because it I was told my insurance wouldn't pay. She said you can't refuse the refractory test as it is the actual eye test, left the room and came back and told me it was ok, my eye insurance would billed and the test would be paid for. When I was asked if I had any current problems I said my vision was getting worse, I had seen another md a few months ago but problems were improving. THEN I GOT A $75 BILL AS THEY CHARGED BC/BS. I called and spoke to two people on to different days. The last one, (in charge of billing in Ft Myers office) was one of the RUDEST people I have ever spoken to in my life. She should be fired! I explained what happened but everyone repeated that since I expressed that my vision was getting worse it had to automatically be billed to my insurance, EVEN THO I WAS TOLD IT WOULDN'T BE! Unbelievable. So that means if you have any problems don't tell the incompetent office staff, lie about it because they lie anyway. If you go to an internist for your annual exam you tell all your problems and are still charged for an annual exam! As far as I'm concerned it's fraud! I made it clear I would not pay for the test before it was ever done, and I was told my eye ins would be charge (or I was refusing the test), but was given the test anyway and charged to the wrong insurance. If they can't even get an annual test bill correctly, imagine what you'll pay if you get surgery! Read the other reviews, large bills! Probably charging the wrong insurance companies in those cases too! I had ordered glasses and was told my insurance would only pay for plastic lens so i ordered plastic lens. i talked to my insurance and they said they absolutely paid for plastic as well. I called and told the person who ordered the glass and she said I was wrong. When i picked up the glasses she said that I was right and thank you for pointing it out. REALLY!!! what a bunch of incompetent idiots! I can't believe these physicians are letting this office staff ruin their practices like this. I can't wait to tell everyone I know how I was treated and not to go to this practice for anything. read more

Dr Brad Snead has been outstanding as my eye doc. He diagnosed a condition I never knew I had and took care of it, before I developed glaucoma. Then I had cataract surgery about 2 years later with lens implants! It was a breeze. His staff is wonderful in both the office and the surgical center. When I originally called the Pebblebrook office, I asked what my out of pocket expense would be. I was told over the phone that it was 100.00. When I went for the appt., there was a long wait. I didn't feel the doctor was sympathetic to my needs: I asked about LAsik surgery and he told me that that is not an option for someone my age, being that it's for older patients. When he discussed my options:eyeglasses or contacts, I didn't feel as though he spent time telling me about the pros and cons of either. So, I opted for both. Tried temporary contacts. After several attempts to put the contacts in, (eyes were still dilated), I was given a stronger prescription than what was listed on the paperwork. The gal that assisted me with the contact was pleasant, but she discussed a lot of personal chitchat that I felt was inappropriate. Not until I came back for a followup, was I told that the prescription was wrong. Told the doctor's assistant, my vision was blurry and wearing the contacts gave me headaches The doctor never came back in to speak with me. Very disappointment with my overall treatment, mistake with the contacts, and especially the 215.00 bill I received after paying the 100.00 and the 110.00 for the glasses lenses. Why wasn't the amount that insurance going to bill me discussed prior? So, 100.00 in the office and 215.00 insurance bill. 315.00 for a routine eye exam(that was not done by the doctor) is a bit much. I could have gone somewhere else for a lot less.
