We had a wonderful experience with this company, we had 3 very large pine trees removed in difficult, tight areas with many overhead wires, and they did it all in 1 day. They ground down the stumps, removed all limbs and cleaned up everything. it was a great experience, and we are very happy with the end results. I have used Scott Lane Tree Service on several (3) occasions; fair quote,great crew and timely response.

We called Scott Lanes for a quote and they came in less than other quotes we received so, we scheduled them to take down our oak tree in our side yard. They said they would start Monday morning by 8:30, they never showed up and my husband called them in the afternoon. Their response was they were finishing up another job and would call and be there Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning still no phone call or show. My husband called again and they said, this isn't the way we do business, I'm so sorry we will call tomorrow and be there Thursday because of rain on Wednesday. Still no calls, no show on Thursday. We both called the office all day and only received voice mail. Left a message, still no call back. We ended up calling another company on Thursday, Taylor Brinkley at Cut Knuckle Inc., he said he would be there Monday morning (Friday was the 4th of July) at 8:30. Guess what? His crew was there at 8:35 and completed the job! His guys were awesome and they went above and beyond what they promised. read more

*** Save yourself and just go with another company*** An older man came out to my home and gave me a quote the same day. Very affordable, a price I couldn't deny. After the quote, it took 3 weeks to finally get in contact with someone to schedule an appointment. (First Red Flag) My tree removal date was scheduled 3 weeks in advance. I was told 2 days before my appointment date, they would provide a time. No one ever reached out. (SECOND RED FLAG) The day before my appointment, I messaged and ask if they had a time of arrival. (I took off from work to be present while the work was done at my home) I was told I would need to be rescheduled. (LAST RED FLAG) I gave them a call to reschedule and the two woman I spoke with were extremely rude, and insisted they would give me a call once back in the office. I never received a call to rescheduled. Furious, I finally go to look at the reviews of this company. I usually ALWAYS LOOK AT THE REVIEWS, I don't know why this time was any different. If I never gave them a call, according to these reviews, they would've never showed. Save yourself from being inconvenienced with this VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. My time is too valuable to be wasted. Maybe if I would've had NOTICE of this cancellation and a good customer service experience, they'd have 1 less bad review. 1000% do not recommend. read more

Scott Lane removed 8 pine trees for my neighbor next door. They removed my fence without permission. They drove their equipment through my yard and made a mess. Only after threatening legal action did he come out to "fix" my fence. They did a terrible job. He did not put the chain link fence back in the ground so the prongs are sticking out. The fence is extremely higher than the posts. The ground around that area is completely trashed and floods when it rains. I didn't contract this company and they damaged my property. read more

Three time returning customer and disabled veteran. On Nov 21 Scott Lanes Tree service removed two large trees on my property to include stump removals as part of the agreed proposal. I paid in full the signed agreement to include $500.00 for the stump removal. On 1 Dec I called Scott to inquire when the stump removals would take place and he said he was busy and would come to remove them. On Jan 4, I called again and a female answered and I explained the situation and she said they could not do it for that amount and need more money from me. I asked about the signed proposal. I heard Scott in the background say give me that phone, and he again said he was very busy and would have a subcontractor call me to schedule a time to come out. As of 18 Jan, I have heard nothing. My calls are now going into voicemail and a message on Facebook have not be answered. I used to recommend his tree service to people who needed tree work done, but now I will not due to integrity and honesty issues that I have experienced the past 2 months. read more

i had used Scott in the past for tree removal and all went well, but used his service recently October 2021 and am very disappointed with the service,our contact was for 3 trees and 2 stumps they did the trees and were supposed to come back on Saturday for the stumps, we didn't hear from them so gave them a week then called, his daughter assured us we were on the schedule and would be to our house the next week, 2 weeks went by and didn't hear from them so called again and again was assured we were on the schedule, a month went by called again and was told there was 2 limbs taken down that wasn't on the contract,so that's why they haven't been out to remove them. my husband had talked to the lead person and had asked about taking down the 2 dead limbs he said no problem,when the job was finished my husband asked the lead person what we owed he gave him the price originally quoted and we paid in cash. I told his daughter we would be happy to pay for the 2 limbs that were taken out and to please come out and remove the stumps on the contract. They have not got back to us even after leaving a message for Scott himself to call me so we could resolve this issue he never called, he has no balls and leaves everything to his young daughter to handle,which she doesn't do very well at. will never use them again ! read more

Elderly stay away from this vendor. My 80 year mother had a dead tree she needed removed. He quoted her a price. When she asked about the coupon on his web site he advised her that this tree was outside the coupon parameters. The coupon on the site still states 20% off of professional services. So cutting down a 30 foot tree is not a professional service. I also reached out via email to the company to ask for an explanation of the coupon due to the fact I found not restrictions about this coupon on the web site. I could understand if the coupon was restricted to grass cutting etc, but no restrictions at all. The company would not email me back to explain why they would not honor the coupon. This business seems to be a bait and switch.... Post a coupon, get the person to come out and give an estimate and then tell them the coupon does not apply. What I also found interesting is that someone reached out to my mom to schedule the tree removal but when I sent the email question the coupon the calls stopped. Just another business that seems to prey on the elderly. Stay away........as of August 18th the coupon still says 20 percent off and has not apparent restrictions. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is that they did contact me regarding being late in their estimate. Originally, I was told it would be within a week. Then they called and said they were behind in estimates. Then a week later they called to see if I was still interested in an estimate from them. I said yes and a week later I still have not heard from them. I would give them one star except they do call every once in awhile. I am off to find someone else. Without a doubt the worst, most unprofessional company my wife and I have ever had the displeasure of working (or not working) with. First, it took two weeks following the estimate to get a date scheduled because nobody answers the phones or email (or responds back). Then, twice now, time has been taken off work when our tree removal was "scheduled" and "rescheduled;" however, when the day comes, nobody shows up, nobody calls, and if someone miraculously answers the phone after multiple attempts, the female representative is extremely rude. We ended up cancelling the project after four weeks of being yanked around. I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone looking for service look elsewhere. read more

Absolutely no communication. After I finally got a quote & signed the contract, I reached out everyday for 2 weeks, leaving voicemail after voicemail about getting my 2 stumps grinded. The work was supposed to have been completed on Tuesday when I finally received a call on Friday late afternoon saying the grinder had been broken all week but they promised by next Friday it would be done. The only reason that I am giving them 1 star is that it is not possible to give them no stars. For several years we bought firewood from another tree service. Always well seasoned. Always well sized. Sadly, they retired. We bought firewood from Scott last year (2018) and although it wasn't sized well and wasn't the same quality as our previous source, it was OK. So we ordered again this year. What a disaster. Not sized well at all, but worse than that, it is green and not seasoned at all. Consequently, it won't burn. After multiple attempts (over 10 messages left on his phone ) to contact Scott regarding this, we finally received a call from his receptionist stating that he was out of town and would be in contact with us when he returned "make it right". According to her, he was returning 4 days ago. He still has not contacted us. We were forced to rent a log splitter and hire workmen to size the wood to a manageable size, in order to move it to the backyard. Scott is very clear that his firewood deliveries are strictly COD. So he has his cash, and we have unusable firewood. He is not an ethical person, and I would seriously caution people from using his services. read more

My 80 year old mother contracted them to cut down two trees, grind the stumps, and prune the dead branches off another tree. The owner came out and talked to my mom and wrote up a proposal. The company did not show up on the planned date. They destroyed a dogwood that she specifically asked them to be careful of during the cutting, and they made no effort to correct or even acknowledge the destruction. They left two 18 inch stumps in her yard saying they would return to grind them another day as it was late. It was written into the contract that they would grind the stumps, and signed by the owner of the company. They refused to come back and grind the stumps. We called and asked for the owner who wrote the contract, the secretary refused to allow us to contact him. She made up a number of reasons why they wouldn't come finish the job. They never contacted my mom as a service follow up, they never contacted her about the incomplete job. They never returned one of my calls or hers, they ignored her emails as well as mine. They took advantage of an 80 year old woman. Be wary of this company, they are not to be trusted to do what they promise, and they are not very good with customer service. read more

I made an appoinment for Tuesday, Oct 14th between 9:00 AM & 12:00 PM for an estimate on a dead tree in my yard & one in my neighbors yard! Heather (I think) from the office called me and told me Mr. George was running late and would be there about 1:30 PM. Ok, I can understand that. I had to go out BUT my neighbor was home and keeping an eye out! When I got home about 4:00 PM, my neighbor informed me that NO ONE had shown up! I was REALLY P.O. I called the company and was told that she would call "Mr. George" and would call me right back. Well, Mr. George called me and said he was not supposed to be at my house until later, LATER in the afternoon. I then informed Mr. George that I could NOT do business with SUCH an UNRELIABLE company. He then proceeded to verbally ABUSE me, calling me an A$$hole and then saying "How about I come over there right now and KICK YOUR A$$"!!! My mouth then got the better of me and I invited him over! I then called the police and they sent a patrol car and took my statement. If Mr. George drives a BIG dark gray, fairly new, pick-up with green trees, lower left on the tailgate, and on at least one of the doors with a tree in the middle of it then he passed by my house at least twice!!!
