My experience with this firm during my divorce case was unacceptable. I received inconsistent guidance that contributed to an outcome I believe could have been avoided with competent representation. Communication was poor; important matters went unaddressed for extended periods, and action occurred only after my own repeated follow up, and ChatGPT researched recommendations. Despite being told we would contest an issue in court, I was ultimately directed to sign documents during mediation without meaningful preparation or explanation. I did not feel adequately advised or represented in that process; I felt alone throughout the whole process. The office's lack of organization further complicated matters, including a poorly handled property retrieval that became unnecessarily difficult. Overall, the level of service fell well below expectations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm and suggest others evaluate their options carefully before retaining counsel. A Divorce lawyer for Me, that consistently worked for my wife instead? Ignored IL Supreme Courts rules and regulations for lawyers. Ignored both U.S. and IL Constitutions, and their respective bill of rights. Ignored IL Divorce laws. He held me down as my wife's attorney beat the legal $hit out of me. And the Judge was biased towards my wife. Even when she and her lawyers committed multiple felonies in court. Stay away from this ambulance chaser Sheen. David Cortez, I must agree with all of the negative feedback, I got to experience his conniving and manipulative ways firsthand and believe me when I say that I have never ever been treated like Scott Sheen's law firm treated me not only is he arrogant and combative to he's paying customers and God forbid you question him on your case because Scott will threaten to quit on you and I have consulted with other attorney's and let's just say that Scott has made a name for himself as a sell you out don't know how his still in business, and I can say with all honesty that I will never do business with Scott' Sheen's law firm or recommend said law firm, I would recommend David Lee's law firm out of Aurora. Attorney Sheen is a truly amazing con man. Promised the world, got my money (over $10k), then negotiated a worse parenting plan than before I went to him. He and his staff refused to respond to emails and Scooter decided to yell at me when I pressed his equally incompetent staff as to why I haven't heard back. A consummate unprofessional who has absolutely no decorum and bullies his clients to accept his miserable excuse of work. This man is not qualified to run a lemonade stand let alone practice law. Update (7/30/21) So unfortunately, I had to temporarily take down this review per Scott's request. He demanded that I remove my "bogus review" in exchange for him to release his lien which was just simply a ploy to get the completely accurate review removed as his wife, Michelle, had emailed me right after the call advising the release had already been submitted to the defense about 7 months prior. Which is funny because he had already breached his own contract, and clearly had made tons of unethical decisions and with how he practices law. The entire office is based on always being unethical. I would not be the slightest bit surprised if he were to be constantly committing fraud on each and every case (settlement agreed upon being $50,000 but when he informs his client he either states that they did not come to an agreement and the case was dismissed or that he was only able to recover a couple thousand total - for an example) as he was already declining offers and making counter-offers without ever advising me, which he claims he would not do (because it can result in his disbarment) in his own contract. In the very same contract he also mentions that he will provide competent legal services, however, upon receiving my files for my case, it became blatantly apparent that was not the case either, once again breaching his own contract, as the only thing he did was request medical records and file the motion to initiate the suit. When the case was finally turned over to me, I had to do literally everything that he should already have taken care of over the last 4 years myself. Which ultimately wasn't all that difficult which begs the question - HOW IS HE STILL IN BUSINESS?!?! And I believe I have found a simple solution, he has hired or has undertaken the task of creating dozens upon dozens of fake google accounts then submitting a 5-star shining review of his law office - check the reviews for yourself, all of the 5-star reviews are the only review that account has ever placed, and it's also the day they were created ironically enough. And the only genuine reviews coincidentally are all 1 star pretty much saying similar things that I am. Follow the advice of the only true genuine organic reviews his office actually has and stay FAR, FAR AWAY FROM HIM that is unless you don't care how long your case takes, how little recovery you're going to receive, and how much you want him to take from you. Because you're truly better off handling your case on your own, however, if you're not comfortable with that, then by all means - hire a lawyer, just don't hire Scott Sheen as I can guarantee you - it WILL BE a decision you come to regret. read more

Scott and Laura have been a true blessing for anything legal I've needed. I'll be honest I was bent over by Jeffery levings office and another firm in down town Elgin. I was promise the world but was always at a loss when all I tried to do was get my rights as a father. After 4 years of fighting with different lawyers and thousands of dollars later Scott was able to make things happen for me fairly and honestly in quick time. Along with family cases he as helped me with he has help my younger sister with a automotive accident and also help other members of my family . He's has a great team from traffic to family this office has your best interest in mind and unlike my other experiences they are fighters and don't get pushed around they fight with you and are aggressive and for that they will forever have my business since my little girl is my entire world!
