The prices are very competitive and even after moving to the Foothills we have never been concerned that our coverage would change or be discontinued. Let me start out by saying we have been with Scott Yuill's office since we first got renter's insurance in 1993. We have had terrific service all these years with many automotive, life, and homeowners policies. But for some reason, they are taking forever to give me an insurance quote on my new Toyota. I have had it for over a month, and crickets. No info. I have called and been told, well it's in underwriting. It's a Toyota people, and my driving record is perfect. how hard can it be??? Be careful when buying home/fire insurance. Some companies have dumb policies and also hire dumb inspectors. Last winter I finally got around to tying auto and home insurance together. I had GEICO for auto and was happy. So, trusting GEICO, I told them "Sign me up for home." They signed me up with Zurich/Arrowhead. Everything seemed fine, and I surely liked the extra $200 given the price of good chardonnay. Months passed. Then I got letter #1: "You failed to disclose the presence of a dog, and our inspector saw bars across the garage window." Huh? We don't have a dog but, like many people, I have three "beware of dog" signs to detract burglars. Also, 20 years ago I had stationary bars put across the side window to prevent a burglar from closing our gate and breaking into the garage. No, that was not good enough; "You have to install a quick release on the bars in case of fire to enable your escape." Reread that. The garage window is at least 5 feet off the garage floor, too high to struggle out of, and I really did not want to provide burglars with a quick release. If we had a fire and needed to escape, what would we do? Of course, open the 20' wide garage door to get both the car and ourselves to safety. No, that was not good enough. The last letter I got from Zurich said, ok, we now know you don't have a dog, but you must "send us pictures of your garage exits." Like every garage, there is a side door. But if we had a fire, we'd still go out the front door or, wiser, open the garage door to save both us and the car. Note: I am not making any of this up! So, after only a month or so with Zurich/Arrowhead, and years with GEICO, I needed to switch to someone and some insurance company I could trust. I surely cannot trust GEICO because of a bad referral to Zurich. I went with State Farm for both through local agent Scott Yuill, whom I've known for years. He's a former mayor/council member...and I should have gone with him to begin with. The moral of the story: If they are hard to deal with at the front end, imagine how difficult they would be at the settlement if you actually did have a fire. Be wise; buy local. read more

I am no longer on my parents plan but on my own and have chosen to stick with them because their service is amazing. Scott and his State Farm Insurance agents provides great service. I got homeowners, auto and umbrella insurance through State Farm. I sent some emails after hours and got quick response from Scott. (Guessing he gets his emails on his smart phone.) Nice to know he's fast to respond when there are emergencies. State Farm in general has been good. My rental car was hit while I was on vacation, and they were fast to reassure me that my premiums wouldn't be impacted. And they've taken care of the paperwork. This week I had the occasion to go into Scotts office to pay insurance on a couple of my cars. I usually pay through the mail or online, but it's been a while since I updated my kids "good student " info and I had a couple questions. I had sent an email through the State Farm secured email system but never received a response. I thought that the office was open past 5:00 pm but found out, as I walked in about 3 minutes before they were closing, that it was not. I met with a very nice young lady named Nawal who asked if she could help me. I kinda figured that she would be annoyed by some guy walking in 3 minutes before she locked the door with a bunch of questions. I was pleasantly surprised to find that she happy to help me. Even staying wayyyy past closing time, she wouldn't let me leave until all my questions were answered and all my changes were made to my policies. Good job Nawal!! You get 5 stars read more
