Brought back fond memories of my children checking out books and attending a few events. The environment is clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. Most of my time this evening was spent in the meeting, but I was able to take a good look around. If I weren't so hooked on my digital devices and ebooks, I'd become a regular.. I still have my library card. This library is located very close to a elementary and high school.. had a steady flow of people going I and out, yet was just as quiet as I remember. Plenty of parking and off a major road.. very accessible. I'd return just to chill.

This branch is a lot more spacious than I considered it being, with a series of tables in the center of the library as you walk in, and a couple of rows of computer stations on either side of the library. A childrens section of the lbrary found on the right hand side is nicely sized, with rows of childrens books and tables for them, and on the left there are more study areas and rows of general population library books. I took a seat at one of the central tables, all the way at the back of the library, and there's a nice mostly glass wall that gives you a great look of the outdoors. Unfortunately, it didn't seem that any of these tables had any electrical outlets near them, although I didn't need one at the time. One thing that started to drive me crazy is every 5 or 10 minutes, a large crowd would come in, talking like they were in an amusement park. I.e. super loud. I was all set to give this branch maybe 3 stars until I left the library shortly after. When I left, there was a children's event going on in one of the private rooms to the right of the entrance, complete with music, lights, balloons and happy kids. Beyond that, there's so much more to do, like learning spanish, learning chess, having an ice cream social (Rhythm and Rhymes) and safety/reading with a cop. It's clear to see that the wesley chapel library branch is every bit a pillar of this community, serving children and adults alike! Is this place super duper loud? It can be. Should that stop you from coming? I don't think so....and if you live in the area, this is a great place you need to be, especially if you have kids. As the interior is spacious, so too is the exterior, having a decent amount of parking. Enough to hold more than 50 cars i'd say. Getting in is very easy. Getting out is a one way exit (to the right), so if you want to go left, you gotta go down a light and make a u turn....or simply cut across illegally....I don't judge. I did get some studying done, and while I was interrupted from time to time, this branch at Wesley Chapelserves a great many of people, and for that alone, I have to bump them up a star. This review is about my experiences: 1) Dropping-of my absentee ballot and 2) Early voting. There…read moreis ample free parking in the lot. The absentee drop-box was located on the opposite side of the parking lot. So, I had to walk around the building to the main street side (Metropolitan). I went on a Saturday and the library was closed. It would have been helpful to have a sign on the door. The area near the absentee ballot drop-off box terribly smelled liked urine. I took a photo the drop-off box to prove that I submitted it but had no issues with the submission being received. My early voting experience was pleasant. There was plenty of signage. A worker greeted me at the door and directed me where to go. I was in and out in record time because unfortunately, I was the only voter there. The process was well organized, allowed for 6-feet social distancing, and assured me that my ballot was recorded. I also got my sticker to proudly display that I voted! No vote = No voice.

Most libraries ask you to be quiet but the Sandy Springs Library asks you to quiet your being…read more The building itself has seen better days and their selection of books is average but I like that they try to help visitors find zen. The majority of offerings on their community events calendar are for tai chi, vinyasa yoga and meditation--exercises to encourage mindfulness and stress reduction. The chances to unwind continue outside the library walls. They have a small, tree shaded reading garden next to the parking lot. You can sit on one of the park benches and read or just sit and listen to birds chirp. The focal point of the garden is a labyrinth. Its pathway is made of brick and gravel. At its center is a peace pole with the phrase "May Peace Prevail on Earth" etched on it in sixteen different languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Hindi, Swahili, Hebrew and Thai. It's a little overgrown and covered with fallen pine needles, but you can still make out the outlines of a pathway. Walking a labyrinth is supposed to be a good way to quiet the mind, to think of creative solutions to problems, to let go of stress and to pray and seek answers. So if you're at the library to study or work for hours, it's good to know you can take a break and recharge in the reading garden. The classes, reading garden and labyrinth make the Sandy Springs branch a good place to not only read and work but also to relax and find peace.

They have early voting going and it wasn't crowded to the point you have no where to park. They usually don't have law enforcement here but today they do. I am guessing to supervise the early voters. The library is quiet. The staff are friendly, nice and accommodating. Masks are encouraged. They do have a temperature machine at the entrance. The reason for the 4 out of 5 rating are for the bathrooms and the back wall desks! They needed more attention. The bathrooms do not have paper towel dispensers but there were toilet tissues. The back wall desks had crumbs from snackers. I would highly suggest being Lysol wipes if you need to study back here. Overall a good library to study and catch up on reading or surf the net.

They have books, toys, puzzles, and coloring sheets to keep them entertained. It is a big library with all different sections and is nice and quiet. The librarians there are so sweet and helpful and there is plenty of parking. I love coming to this library!

The Forest Park branch library is the newest of the Clayton County libraries. Opening in 2012, the facility houses a state of the art meeting room and computer lab, public access computers equipped with the latest productivity software, comfortable seating for reading and studying, and a dedicated teen area. Plenty of computers, books, and tables with outlets for phones and charger outlets. As well as a lot of comfy seats to just relax in. You will indeed get the normal teenagers every so often, but if they decide to be loud at all it's never inside. Friendly and helpful employees. Ample free parking available in front of the building. Overall a great experience being at a library afer a long time.

There is a strong chance they might have the show or movie on DVD! DeKalb County Public Libraries have now extended their DVD loan period to 3 weeks, same as books, which is much appreciated. I actually came to this Clarkston branch since they had a particular disc that I was looking for; you can check the online catalog to see what's available. The main parking lot is behind the library, and the entrance is to the side. The driveway to the lot is narrow so drive slowly. The building shows its age and it's not the biggest location, but it's still a pleasant library. The restrooms were clean (though there were some empty cigarette packs at the back of the building), and the other patrons were well-behaved. It was easy enough for me to locate the DVD area and find what I needed. The guy at the circulation desk wasn't the friendliest, oh well. Don't forget your mask since they're required. If you are a monster who doesn't like books, periodicals, and multimedia (kidding), you still should stop by the Clarkston Library to admire its enormous stunning hibiscuses! Whoa, gorgeous.

Nice library! I came…read moreto the Dekalb county Public library in Clarkston to study on a Friday afternoon, and this was one of the better libraries i've been to. Nope, it's not as technologically advanced as other locations, but it is clean, there is space for studying and it's actually quiet! If anyone has kept up with my reviews on libraries, my biggest beef has always been someone was loud and disruptive, but on this day, I was relatively undisturbed....outside of the guy next to me who asked me if he could borrow a pen. The library isn't the largest one i've been to, but there's a respectable amount of books and computer stations, both immediately in front of you as you walk in, and to the left of you. The entire right side of the library is the children's area. All the way to the far left there's about 5 cubicles for studying, as well as a few chairs as well. Several Tables are also found while walking to this area. On this day most of the cubicles were empty, so I was able to take a spot in the padded chairs and get to work. One cool thing about the cubicles is they all come with their own individual lamps, for the late night studying ( only mon-wed...they close at 5pm thurs - sat), a nice little touch I haven't seen any other library branch do yet. 30 minutes before the library is to close, they alert you via loud speaker, and continue to do so every 10 minutes until it closes, so you don't have to worry about not being alerted of it's closure. Parking at the library is interesting. There is a parking lot to the left of the library, but the actual "library only" parking is at the rear of the library itself (turn right into the library lot and follow the road around). It's a smallish lot, being able to hold less than 20 cars and likely less than that. Getting in or out of this lot in either direction isn't too tough. I definitely like this library. It's small, not the most technological, but it does what a library should do....keep a quiet atmosphere and for learning. What can I say? I'm a fan!
