I don't care for vinegar based sauce and this wasn't heavy on the vinegar like some other restaurants we've tried. Several years ago my husband and I decided to go to White Diamond for dinner to see what everyone was raving about. He ordered a BBQ Sandwich and I ordered a very well done burger since I don't care for that kind of BBQ. Twice I told the waitress that I wanted it VERY well done. She stated it would be out soon. When it came out I removed the top bun to add the tomato, onion etc. The burger was a grayish brown and not well done as I requested so I got our waitresses attention and asked that it be put back on the grill for a bit longer and she replied that they could not do that as their burgers were cooked in the morning and refrigerated until someone ordered one and then it was reheated at that time. That did it for me, never went back, however my husband said his BBQ Sandwich was great! read more

First the service was fabulous! They were so friendly and accommodating. They ran out of catfish so go early if you want some. The BBQ sauce is mustard base which I usually don't enjoy but this sauce was great!! I used a bunch of it. The onion rings were home made and very crispy, the jalapeño hush puppies were fantastic. Not dry and full of flavor. I had the Brunswick stew and coleslaw as well which was very good. The ribs and pork were very good. The pork is not pulled but minced, I was skeptical but it was very good. We will definitely go back to this restaurant and look forward to interacting with the staff again. read more

Yep. Correct. When you want Georgia bbq this is what you're looking for. It's shredded pulled pork with a mustard sauce available on the side. Simple and good. I had stew on the side, which is excellent. A tomato base to it and all the vital ingredients. Ambiance and experience here is, again, correct. A bbq place should be no cleaner and no dirtier. There should be no less or no more decor on the walls and counters. The service is quick and friendly, with plenty of seating including bar top. Food: I had the BBQ sandwich and Brunswick Stew. The food was great! The BBQ sandwich came with a pickle on top and a small container of mustard style BBQ sauce. I had never tried that type of sauce, but it was very tasty. Atmosphere: The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere is very friendly. It can get a bit crowded at lunch, but that is a good indicator of food. They have a walkup window if you want it to go or you can eat inside. Customer Service: Our waitress was fantastic and made us feel welcome. She was also very knowledgeable of all menu items. Price: Price was great for the portion size. Their bbq is the same now as the day they opened, 66 years ago. Old school real pit smoked hog with vinegar based sauce, regular or really warm! I had tge pulled pork sandwich, and ordered fries and cole slaw for sides. Warning!! One order of fries is enough for a table of four. My brother, a regular, sheepishly apologized and helped me work on them. People have commented on the looks of the place, but as a bbq purist, I have a distrust of a too neat and shiny clean restaurant. I look for and live for the bbq dive, a little dingy with very little foo foo going on. My brother commented on the tea being a little too sweet. Ain't no such thing! A hole in the wall with decent Que... Went here based on the glowing reviews on yelp had the pulled pork, beans, and slaw. Pulled pork was tasty but had the consistency of canned tuna fish. The slaw was great and the beans tasted like bush's canned beans. Their mustard sauces were great and really added the flavor to the meat but don't mix the slaw and pork because it mixes into some thing that tastes like a tuna salad sandwich. Due to the good reviews, I was really looking forward to trying this hole in the wall mom and pop bbq joint. Service? Pretty good, actually. Very nice sweet people! Fries? No salt, but some of the best I've ever had once I added salt. Coleslaw? A hint of dill -- I don't like coleslaw, but this was pretty good with that interesting twist. Brunswick stew? Eh. Nothing special, but okay. Ribs? No flavor whatsoever but fell off the bone. If it had spices at all, it would've been really, really good. And if it hadn't been room temperature when served, and cold by the time I got to my last rib. They only serve mustard bbq sauce at the table which happens to be the only kind I don't like. BBQ with the BBQ plate? Looks like old wet cat food, tasted like ground up bbq meat with that mustard bbq sauce I don't like. So I have been trying BBQ in middle GA and still cannot find something worth eating. To say it is bad is too nice for that disgusting BBQ pork. The catfish was ok, the onion rings and fried pickles were good. The hush puppies lacked flavor and were dry. The fries had potential but were lacking. The coleslaw was missing some tang. And again the BBQ was horrible, my dog finished it for me. I would vomit but I do not want to taste it again. What is wrong with people in this town supporting bad food. As a big fan of BBQ, and new to the Warner Robins area, I stopped in solely based on their reviews. I guess I don't get the draw. I ordered a half lb of the pulled pork and coleslaw to-go. The BBQ is nothing special. Zero smoke flavor. Looked like cat food. I honestly could've done that in a crockpot. The coleslaw tasted like stuff from a grocery store deli. Simple and safe I guess? The highlight was the BBQ sauce. A pleasant surprise, which definitely improved the meat. Overall, an average tasting meal. As for the customer service, it was exceptional. I was greeted with a smile and welcomed immediately. Maybe people love it because it feels like "Cheers"? It was more than enough to feel full and nicely priced. Their BBQ sauce was different, more vinegar/mustard than the usual sweet bbq sauces out there. Not sure how true of a story this is, but I've heard that this one girl I work with used to have a job there, way back before her current job. She was doing something with a grinder and lobbed off a bit of one of her fingers. Not much mind you, and I'm sure that they cleaned the machine all the way to the point of dismantling the whole thing and dousing it with Clorox, but still enough to have me be a little cautious when eating here (gotta look out for thumb nails and whatnot). Besides that, I thought the bbq was a lacking a little, but I did enjoy the fact that it seemed to be family run, and it was right next to a train track. White Diamond looks like a dive, but it has always been my family's favorite place for BBQ. We were so devoted to it, that my dad used to drive 20 minutes just to pick up take out for us. As an adult, I now live very close to White Diamond, and it's as tasty as it ever was. The vinegary pulled pork with the tangy (not at all sweet) BBQ sauce is as authentic as it gets. Here is a rarity in central GA: South Carolina style mustard-based BBQ, which makes it unique - something not often found except near the GA-SC border and the coast. And it is delicious! Simply put, White Diamond's BBQ ranks among the best in GA. It is the same BBQ I first ate way back then. The place may look like a dive, but it is clean and well run. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. I haven't lived in the area for 30 years, but whenever I am anywhere within 40 miles I'm going to stop in for a meal and some pork to take home. A dive for sure with hickory smoked BBQ done perfectly pink. The mustard based sauce is quite different from the vinegar sauces I'm used to in Virginia, and I really liked it.
