My daughter has been going here and she LOVES it! The teachers are amazing and always keep me updated with how her day went and they are helping her with potty training which is super helpful. I have twins who attended this center in 2011-12 and it has always been in the back of my mind that this DISGRACE of a child care center deserves a review so potential parents know what a shameful joke they are. My experience with my two children who attended this center is very similar to that of Gabby F's review. My children were delayed in their development but were not violent or unruly in the least bit. In fact, they were the opposite. But they were treated like a nuisance by the staff of SLC. All they needed was a little extra attention/care at certain times. Just like Gabby, we received the "Sorry this just isn't working out" talk from the director after rapid decline in care for our kids. It's ironic because when you walk in the door of this center they have a mural that says something along the lines of "All of god's children deserve care and love". Too bad they don't follow what they promote! And if you are wondering, when our kids were "kicked out" of this center, we found another location that gladly accepted our children and had no problem caring for them and making a little extra effort to provide care for them. My fair warning to you: child care is expensive, and you deserve to know your children are in a place where kids of all types are loved and accepted. Take your kids somewhere else. Anywhere other than SLC!!! read more

Don't take your child here if they have any type of learning delay or maybe needs a little extra help than all the other children because they WILL NOT tolerate any bad days for your children. We brought our son here for his first day last Wednesday he is TWO just turned two actually and the first day they said he had a great day just didn't get the whole nap time cause obviously he wasn't used to it! Second day rolls around and I get a phone call stating my son is "INCONSOLABLE" so I come to pick him up and he's up front with all the front office ladies not crying, not throwing a fit just sitting on their lap quietly. That's when they took my in the office to tell me that "it just wasn't a good fit for them" that MY SON was too much for them to handle and that he was kicking screaming pulling hair and throwing things. First of all let me tell you he HAS NEVER acted in such a way ever! I get this is a new environment but it's very hard for me to believe that he was so much trouble they couldn't get him to calm down. Not only that but I told them "so my son has one good day and one bad day and you guys kick him out for that ? " She said with a huge smile on her face ya I'm sorry it's just not going to work out for ya and we wanted to give you the weekend to find someone new. So basically if your child is behind or cranky in any sorts don't bring your child here because they do not have any tolerance for bad days or TODDLER BEHAVIOR. If you ask me this place is a joke. My son is a loving and nurturing kid never has he acted out in such a manner. These people are careless and LAZY. Do not take your child and waste any money on this facility. read more

I love this place. They make it so easy on us to drop in when we want and only pay when we come. They've always been sweet with our kids and they love coming!! I like how specific the age groups are, too. read more

We love SLC! My kids (3 1/2 and 5 1/2) have both attended since they were about 2 years old. We love that it's a pay as you go Center so we can keep them home or go on vacation and not pay for those days! My kids love their teachers and their friends. My son is doing the kinder program and I feel it has prepared him so much for starting kinder in the Fall. read more

Right now we are in the process of finding a day care for our 6 month old but this place is so far at the top of my list! My daughter has been going here for almost 2 years, and my son for about 7 months now. I am almost always greeted by name when I enter and exit the front door, the childcare here is WAY CHEAPER than Tutor Time by a substantial amount, and both of my kids love it there. My daughter is always singing little songs she learns, and my son is always happy and smiling when I come and get him. You really feel like most of the staff is genuinely happy to be there, and that they really do care about your kids. The only complaint I really have is sometimes when I go to pick up my daughter, depending on the time of day and what they are doing, she can be hard to find. The staff will sometimes direct me to multiple areas before I find her, which is kind of frustrating and annoying at times. read more

This preschool and daycare is an A+++. They noticed that my 4 year old while doing activities to prepare him for kindergarten was having troubles with his vision. They informed me of their findings at which time I had him checked by a pediatric optometrist which revealed he needed glasses. This school is much more then a daycare facility. These teachers pay attention to their students and help them in any way they can. I highly recommend this school. read more

SLC is the best place in the Anthem area! My sons have been there for years and the staff treats them as if they were their own. The daily schedule is mixed with age appropriate arts, crafts, and fun learning exercises. And better yet everything is very clean! If you are thinking about SLC visit CASSIDY at the front desk. She will welcome you with the biggest, friendliest, warmest smile. Within minutes you will feel like you have known her for years. CASSIDY genuinely cares about all of the kids and the parents. At times it seems like there is a line of parents at the front door just to chat with her. read more

I have three children, ages 10, 8 and 5. We started going to Scottsdale Child Care and Learning Center at Carefree when my 10-year-old was 4. We've been there ever since. Not only have they taken great care of my children, it's also a fantastic learning environment. My children have all been able to read by age 4 1/2 and they've been beyond prepared for kindergarten once they leave. I love the extracurricular opportunities they provide such as Spanish, computer class, dance class and cooking class. The staff is friendly, accommodating and everyone has been there for years. It's not a daycare with high turnover, which is great for the stability of the kids. I love the Christian-based philosophy that has been instilled in my children, and I know that everyone there has the children's best interests in mind. From a business perspective, I appreciate the flexibility they offer. I never hesitate to recommend Scottsdale Child Care and Learning Center to anyone. read more

My son has been enrolled for two years now and I just can't say enough good things about his experiences there. SLC is so much more than just a daycare center. The curriculum is structured like classes at a school. Each week parents are provided with a daily schedule of specific activities and describes exactly what the students will be learning. The staff consistently goes above and beyond to make sure that each child gets the individual attention that they need. The classrooms are always clean and organized. Scottsdale Learning Center has been the best for our children. We have been going there for the previous 3 years! My children love it and all the teachers make us feel so welcomed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!! I took my son in there for summer care. I had a ditsy woman give me a brief, undescriptive tour then her boss (I assumed) listened in on our conversation about registration and helped her fill in the gaps (like I said, ditsy). I told them I'm a protective mother and putting him somewhere new makes me uneasy. I took all the paperwork and said I'd be back next week with the money. I felt weird when I left but all the parents passing me seemed happy so I thought why not. WELL when I came back, "boss lady" was like, "So-and-so doesn't normally work here and she didn't tell you we don't have anymore openings." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! YOU HELPED HER HAND ME THE PAPERWORK. YOU HEARD IT ALL. She's lying. I knew I got creepy vibes for a reason. Something is not right in that place... The owner guy even weirded me out, trying to talk to my son and ask him where he lives, goes to school, ect. Trust your gut. I dodged a bullet. read more
