A fabulous spot to cowork with your laptop, I really enjoyed my time here. While it was packed when I arrived and I started off at a table in the center where there was not a power outlet, eventually someone got up to leave and I was able to step over to there and plug in. Excellent coffee, a large iced latte was my second coffee of the day. And with that and the decent seating against the wall, I stayed here for a couple of hours. I'd only suggest a bigger space or find a way to run power to some of those center tables. Winooski offers metered parking nearby with a limit, so check the signs. Showed up looking for a great coffee and a morning pastry. The drip coffee is indeed quite delicious but there were zero options of food items. The barista did not say hello even though we said hello to him as we entered. The heavy metal music was a but abrasive first thing in the morning, after 20 minutes of sitting in the shop the music did mellow a bit. If you are looking for a grab and go, could be an ok option but if you want to hang out and enjoy your morning brew, try some where else. read more

Staff was fine, and the coffee was fine as well. There was *ahem* a distinct smell of body odor within the place on two different occasions within the last week that was really hard to ignore. I'm new to the Vermont area and wanted to try out some local coffee shops and found this nearby place. I ordered a cappuccino and a potato focaccia pastry. The cappuccino was okay, nothing super special, but I really enjoyed the potato focaccia! I went about two hours before closing and was expecting the food to be stale, but the focaccia was delicious and very filling. The server behind the counter was really nice and offered me pastries to-go after closing since she didn't want to waste any food. The only cons were that my table was a little dirty and the parking in the area is pretty bad. Obviously parking right in front is the most convenient, but as there are other neighboring businesses and limited spots, you most likely have to scavenge for a spot at the back of the building. Hands down one of the friendliest coffee shops you'll find in New England. We walked over after downing a filling breakfast across the street and mentioned that we were just visiting the area. The baristas immediately asked us where we were from, how we've been enjoying our trip, and what kind of coffee we normally drink in Los Angeles. The best part of the discussion was when we mentioned that we had never had a Vermont "creamie". Confused since this is called soft-serve elsewhere, the baristas offered us a sample of their peanut butter creamie. Hands down again! That was the best soft-serve I've ever had. I was looking forward to trying their coffee and yummy pastries based on the reviews. I was sadly disappointed this place is not dog friendly. I am giving it 1 star because of the rude way they said it. I understand that not all places will allow dogs but there was no need to be rude and not even allow a carry out order. They didn't even ask if it was a service dog. She was just downright rude. I went to Rosies Confections about a block away and had a lovely time. The staff was nice. Found this gem, thanks to Yelp. Located in the very quaint town of Winooski, just south of Burlington. This is quite a large space, despite the appearance from the outside, but not a ton of tables, so seating can be limited. You'll typically see a couple locals lounging on the couch to the left as you walk in. There is a small ledge with chairs to sit just in front of the couch. It's tight with the couch, especially if the folks on the couch are sprawled out, as they were on my visit. I came here for one thing, the smoked maple latte (as you'll see pictured) and it did not disappoint. Not a huge maple flavor, but nice and balanced, as to not overpower the drink. I love how they bring it over to you and torch the marshmallow right in front of you. It's the little things and they nailed it. Also, had a strawberry potato vegan donut, that was quite good. My buddy had a cool little plate of 1/2 black coffee and 1/2 latte, so he could taste their coffee straight up and he said it was fantastic. They use a few different roasters and had some beans for sale as well. Cool little spot, that I will definitely hit up on my next trip to the area. read more

Scout & Co has a really nice, updated atmosphere. Unlike some other coffee shops, they have lots and lots of seating for coffee drinkers. They are located right in the middle of the downtown Winooski area. The coffee itself is better than average and a million times better than Starbucks. I ordered the regular brew in a mug to enjoy there. Although it wasn't the very best I have had, and although I do not think the beans were roasted on site, it was still pretty enjoyable. I did not try the lattes or specialty drinks. The mug for the coffee could have been cleaner. The one thing I could have done without is the political message signs in the shop. When I am tired in the morning and haven't had my morning cup of coffee yet, the last thing I want to see is anything ugly and political. read more

I was so sad when Misery decided to close their coffee shop on Winooski Falls Way, I went there every morning to get a freshly baked scone and a mocha made from melted dark chocolate chips. When I heard that Scout was coming to town, I was excited to have a new place to do my morning ritual. But from the start, I have been very disappointed. I ordered a mocha, excited to satisfy my chocoholic needs but the first sip went down and sadness began to set in. They didn't use chocolate chips to make their mochas, they used cocoa powder, BLASPHEMY (and it was from Trader Joe's). Maybe I have high expectations because I worked at a chocolate factory...but cocoa powder is not an acceptable mocha. I decided that maybe they wouldn't become my mocha haven, but at least I could get a coffee and a pastry on my way to work. Except for that whenever I go in at 7:45 on a weekday their pastries haven't arrived! (They are brought in from Williston). I was informed that they come in at 8:30 (an hour and a half after they open....) Please work on your mocha! I want to like you guys so much. read more

Things I like: the openness of the space, the abundant natural lighting from windows, and the cleanliness. You can help yourself to free water. Things I dislike: prices - definitely more expensive than most cafes and the loud noises from conversations and music. The music is way too loud and very upbeat instead of mellow. I was hoping this place would turn out to be my new study spot, but I think it's better as a hang out spot with a friend. The ambiance is lively and full of natural light. Some people are doing work, but it's too much noise for me. This rating is mostly based on the fact that this isn't an ideal study spot. I was so excited to try this place out! I ordered the maple smoked latte and it was one of the best lattes I've had. The smoked marshmallow on top was a clever touch. Overall, it was a delicious latte. However, I showed up a minute before they opened and it appeared that the barista wasn't too concerned about customer service while he saw me standing in the cold outside (mind you it was -10 w/ wind chills), but decided to keep talking to his coworker. As a person who mostly works remotely, this place provides me with everything a gal could need: caffeine, carbohydrates, and community (and an internet connection). Pro tips: There is usually room to sit and do work during the week; the weekends tend to find the shop pretty swamped. Take advantage of the fact that they have ice cream all year round and treat yourself to an affogato. There's a great kids corner with books and toys, and there are usually a few little ones running around the shop. read more

There are giant glass wall windows with lots of natural light and a few big tables with electric outlets, so as a study spot this place is perfect. We had a fantastic Cappuchino and delicious chai latte here on a semi cloudy morning where we were welcomed with open smiles by Tom, the owner. We later chatted and he really knows his third wave coffee roasters around the country. He knew of or had been to many of the ones we know up and down the west coast. Oh my hubby just reminded me of the delicious pastry we had also. Except we can't remember if it was a muffin or a scone. The space has super high ceilings, comfortable seating and large and smaller tables, corner cubbies where you can have more privacy, and beautiful decor. Right on the main circle, you can take a nice walk with coffee in hand, down to Winooski Falls, into the nature preserve, or just sit by the river. Have been in here a dozen times or so. Has potential but could use improvement. Decor and furnishings are a bit shoddy. The staff has been mostly very nice and the coffee drinks are pretty good. But the food selection is very minimal and consists mainly of a few pastries that can be decent but are often stale. The best days to go are Saturday and Sunday when Miss Weinerz donuts are dropped off. Unfortunately, they don't arrive until 10 or so which may be a bit late for some. read more
